If 4/3 is offered, can you help me figure out...

Just playing numbers games! :teacher:

For you seasoned 4/3 dealers...how does this work.

To figure out what your 4 night rate is....

Is it your week total / 7 * 4.

So $671 / 7 = $95.86 per night * 4 = $383.44

Or is it the room rate average (weekday rate + weekend rate / 2).

So $82 + $92 = $174 / 2 = $87 per night * 4 = $348

Then you would add in the amount of a 4 day ticket, currently $225 (you don't average out a 7 day price times 4)....because you are really only getting the amout of the upgrade to 7 days, which is approx. $18?

So it would be:
Price of room (either $383.44 or $348) plus $500 for (2) 4 day tickets?

$883.44 or $848

And, if I was going 2 weeks, I'd multiply that total by 2, and have to get 2 separate ressies.

$1766.88 or $1696

I currently have a AAA 14 night at $1208 and will be getting (2) 10 day for $496 from UCT...$1704 (seems better, but would only be 10 park days vs. a full 14 day, so the 4/3 would be better?).

I know, I know! I could dream right?

But a room only 40% pin would be better than either...around $805 for 2 weeks + 500 = $1305

(I didn't add taxes, I know that will come into play, just trying to get an idea)

Thanks!

I just went online and looked up the cost of a 4 day trip beginning on the date I want my 7 day visit to begin.

For me I want to go Jan 23 - 30, so I looked up the cost of a trip checking in Jan 23 and checking out on Jan 27 (4 nights). Then I adjust the park ticket options (don't want WP & More, but do want hoppers). The additional 3 nights are "free," so that should be right.

I've never done the 4/3 deal so not entirely certain I'm doing it right. But it makes sense to me.

Pretty much everyone has said it's basically a 43% discount on the package, if that helps.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. I believe the last 4/3 deal was only on packages including MYW tickets, not room only. If they offer it again and that is the case you will not be able to get tickets from another vendor and take advantage of the deal.

thank you!

I'd only be getting the mousesavers/utc if I keep my room only that I have now.

I should just be patient then call and let Disney figure it out to quote me.

Do they have a support group for the numerical ocd? :lmao:

Right now I have it figured:

AAA room only / UTC: $1708

(2) 4/3 7 day pkg: $1768

(2) 4/3 7 day pkg with (2) $200 gift cards: $1368 (technically speaking...)

40% room only / UTC: $1310

So as far as I can tell if they offer the gift card with 4/3 it is pretty much the same as 40% ... both better than AAA. If no gc then 40% is the best. Now if only that pin code fairy would pluck my name out of her wing dust. :wizard:

Download the spreadsheet in my sig that I developed to see which deal would benefit you more...the 40% off room only, 4/3, or free dining. It will work for both 10 and 7 day packages. If you have questions about it just ask me. Good luck!

Actually, that is what raised my question! Your sheet is awesome, I was just not sure of one of the functions, and before I sent you a pm I was trying to get an answer.

On the 4/3 it looks like you have the function as room rate + tickets / 7 * 4

But I think it should be room rate / 7 *4 plus the price of a 4 day ticket.

because I think the deal went that you paid the 4 day ticket price and got the $18 free for what you would have paid to upgrade to 7 days.

I think 4 day is $225, so for easy #s, say room is $100/night

So for example a $700 room would be $700/7 * 4 --> $400 + $225 = $625

Not $700 + $225 = $925 / 7 = $132 * 4 = $528

I have no clue! You could be totally right, I just remember last year there being some talk on how it wasn't that great for tickets b/c of only $18, and where you really save is the room.

But you sure rock at xls :goodvibes

Huh...interesting. I'll look into that some tomorrow and post what I find. I'll have to look up last year's deal and see what it says!

And thanks for the compliments! I was just tinkering around with it myself and thought about how many other people try to figure this out themselves!

When 4/3 was offered, they took the total for your package and divided it by number of nights you booked for (since you could book 5-10 nights). They then multiplied that number by the number of days you should have been receiving for free and deducted that number from your total. To that, they added your ticket price, minus the number of free days. Then, they added in the total cost of dining (nothing free), if you chose to add it.

Note 1: The "free" cost always came off a bit different because of tax.
Note 2: Different nights could cost different amounts; it was always based on an average. You could guesstimate by looking at the room only cost.
Note 3: The 4/3 Deal explained

Ok, so then the method I use in my spreadsheet should be correct as that is how I have the function set up. Thanks for clearing that up!
