Idol worth FP?

My son wants to see the 7 pm Idol show one day when we're there the first week of June. We've never done Idol, daytime nor the final evening show. Is this something that a FP+ is needed? If not, does it fill up so should we arrive early? I have no interest, but it's the only thing he definitely wants to see during this year's WDW trip. Thanks!

The theater didn't fill up when I was there. Wouldn't think you needed it

I would get there 15-20 minutes early to get seated, but the chances of the theater being full are pretty slim. We arrived less than a half hour before the finale show on New Year's Eve and got in no problem.
