IDEAS NEEDED FOR "ANNOUNCING" A SURPRISE TRIP TO WDW!!

how 'bout one of those "make your own puzzles" which are just white cardboard w/the pieces cut out that you color or write on it when whole, then break it up and give everyone a few pieces?

i made tee shirts and put them in a new suitcase and had the kids do a little scavenger hunt to find the suitcase and then the tee shirts...

you could also just do some scrolls in disney print w/"WE'RE GOING TO WDW" printed on them w/some clipart of the characters for everyone to untie/read at the same time...

perhaps an invitation?

What about getting each of them one of the new WDW gift certificate cards and tuck them in another card or envelope...? When they open it, she can say "I thought you'd like to pick out your own gift...oh...oops. I guess you can only use these at WDW. Well...in that case, shall we all go??"

You can get them in any price increment and add to them if you want. We surprised our DS for our last trip, but telling one little 4 year old is different than a group of adults.

Tell her good luck!!

Oh! Everyone's ideas are wonderful! :teeth: :teeth:
Any other ideas from anyone else? This is fun to read!

Giving each person some letters or letter to the phrase, ie. "we are all going to Walt Disney World" and having them figure out what the letters mean is a great idea. We surprised our kids last year and just gave them pictures etc of traveling and had them guess it....it was fun!

Our plans for surprising the kiddos are most likely not applicable but you may be able to glean a small nugget if you look really hard :)

We have friends that live in Key West and the plan is to let the kids think that is where we are going. I'm working on building up on that idea at this very moment....

My goal is try and get them to the arch before they figure it out and I think it will work. Obviously we won't be using DME!! Sooo, when we get in the limo, I'm going to have the driver hand the kids envelope number one. In that letter, using regular type font, will be verbage explaining that "we" want the kids to come visit "us" instead of your mom and dad's friends in Key West. The driver already knows where to take you so not to worry. "We" could tell you who "we" are but that would be too easy, so here are 3 clues to help you figure it out. The first two clues are very, very vague...they won't figure it out. The third clue being to move up to where your Mom and Dad are sitting(I'm going to have the kids sitting behind the driver, facing backwards), look out the window until you see the arch that says Welcome to our home.

At that point it will be plainly clear to them where we are and let the yelling begin. At that point the driver is going to hand them a second envelope with a few short and simple clues as to which resort we will be staying at(typed in Disney font). They will guess pretty quickly as we've stayed at this resort before and the cues will be from memories we discuss often from our last trip. The letter will be signed by Mickey...I want them to be done guessing this part quickly so they can get back to staring out the window and searching eagerly for visual cues to our favorite place on earth.

Let us know what she comes up with!!

How about a backpack filled with sun block, WDW maps, etc. And also get a tee-shirt with a Disney character that says, "(last name)'s Family WDW Vacation 2006!" Something like that.
