I have searched and searched and now feel like I am running out of time FAST! My other worry is most of the night time stuff is only on the weekend and we will be there on D23 weekend so I expect bigger "knowledgable" crowds.

Could you experts please give suggestions to us of where /when to stand/line up/watch the following.... we dont HAVE to be in the best possible position available but somewhere with a reasonable view for first timeres would be great -thanks!

We have two children, aged 10 and 7.

WOC - have booked picnics. What time should we line up ?

Fireworks - on main street right?? anywhere in aprticular?

F! - From reading on here I am thinking second show (chidlren will sleep during the day) Where do I wait to grab a spot from the people leaving after first show?

Jedi Academy - DS is desperate to take part!!!

High School Musical show - DD's number one pick!

Celebrate - A Street Party

Pixar - Play parade

Thanks in advance!

I am going to Destination D. The schedule has us occupied until early morning to 10:30 at night, so we have no park time planned during Friday or Saturday. They may surprise us with something in the parks like WOC, but I doubt it.
Sunday may be busy since it is the Disney Scavenger Hunt and it sold out with 1,000 teams of numbers from 2-4. Thursday will probably habve a few extra since I bet many are coming in early as we are, but I don't think the acutal weekend will see much impact. The event will sell out at 1,500 and there are still tickets available so I don't think you'll see much difference at all from the regular crowds..

HS Musicial- All you have to do is enter DCA and walk around any corner and you be almost run over by CMs clearing the way for this float. We try to avoid it and have a hard time.

WOC- we lined up at the corner by the Little Mermaid ride about 7:20 and we were second in our section (PD). We actually would have got there at 7 but didn't know where to go. They will put up a baracade at that corner and you want to be behind that.

If you don't want to wait for hours for the fireworks and don't mind missing Dumbo fly, you can walk up to IASW 15 min. before showtime and sit down up there. You can't see the castle but they project images on IASW. We think it is a great alternative to waiting for hours for fireworks which may be canceled anyway. One night they stopped in the middle of the show because of high winds.

I don't know about the others. The Pixar Parade was wonderful and we saw it two years ago when crowd dynamics were different. We got a great spot 5 min before the show.

WOC- I suggest lining up by 7:00. That's what we did, and we got a spot right in front of the railing.

Fireworks- We like to stand at the end of the shops on Main St. We stand near the photo shop. We usually head to the area about an hour before. The CM's will let you stand in the street. Two of us will go grab dessert, while the others wait. When its close to start time, they put up a rope and we like to be right behind the rope, so no one is in front of us. There are people walking, but the CM's keep them moving.

F- we did the second show on our last trip. We headed over to the area around 9:15. Our plan was to go past the show, I guess over by splash. But then we were talking to a CM. She pointed out the exact spot that was the center of the show. We stood behind the crowd. It thinned out during fireworks and immediately afterwards and we squeezed our way to the front. We had front row spots. I'm not sure if this is a good strategy or if we got lucky, but it was awesome!

Pixar- we've gotten good spots 20-30 minutes before it started.

Hope this helps!

Jedi- Have DS wear a star wars shirt if he has one. Also some people have had good luck making a small sign on a piece of paper they fold up in their bag for the child to wave in front of the CM's when they are picking the kids to participate. Have him show lots of energy.

HSM- Not as popular as it once was so you will have no trouble seeing it. Just check your map for the times and hang out in the sunshine plaza. It is a cute show.

Celebrate- I have had good luck getting a good spot 30-40 min before hand on mainstreet.

Pixar- Right next to the Paradise park has lots of benches for seating and relaxing before the parade. I have shown up there about an hour early, but i grab some dinner and let the kids just relax and snack while we wait.

Fireworks- on the hub to get the view of Dumbo, etc. I second the Small World suggestion- great viewing of the fireworks and you don't have to wait an hour or more for a good spot.

Haven't done WOC yet. and I usually do the early show of F!. hope you have a great trip!

Thank you very much everyone....

DD is sooooo keen to see HSM.. it is her favourite... do they have audience participation?? Kids up and dancing??

We have had custom shirts made for Jedi training for both of the children. (DS actually has 3 Star wars shirts and wants to go multiple days!) DD also has her HSM shirt ready to go!

Fireworks - In the hub on the street in the center or slightly to the right is the primo spot. You can see all projections on the castle and everything else just perfectly. I have seen it from just about everywhere and I have to say that this is the spot to be. Usually at least 1-2 hours early for this spot. Maybe earlier if you are going during busy times.

Fantasmic! - Anywhere on the pavement around Rivers of America. Line up early though. Very early if its the first show.

WOC - We did the picnic but my wife was recovering from back problems so she had a wheelchair so I can't respond to how early. We had the blue section twice and it was fine.

Can't remember the other questions you asked.
