Give some cool possible AVATAR ride ideas....Let's give Disney an idea of what the FANS want...right off the rip.

I Think a COOL DARK RIDE, Half Ride/ Half Rollercoaster...kinda like Universals Mummy, but on a much bigger scale

I think they should take discovey Island and theme it after Avatar 1 with a vessel themed to look like the one they rode to the planet and rides like flying an ikran or riding a banshee. I could see an area where you could simulate being an Avatar. Build something similar to the treehouse system that can be walked through. I can see a definate conservation theme while still being really fun and inovative.

Then they could expand it and take River Country and theme it after avatar 2 since its supposed to be a water based land. I just hope they add something fun and interactive and make use of those spaces that are just sitting around instead of tearing into virgin lands.

I posted this on the Rumors board, but here's what I'd like to see that would also really bring the next-gen queue concept to... well, the next gen:

With all the talk of next-gen queues like you'll see for Dumbo and more interactive in-line experiences, it seems to me that Avatar would offer the perfect opportunity to put it all together.

It seems to me that three of the experiences that might be key to the Pandora experience would be a walking-at-your-own-pace chance to soak in the atmosphere and theme, a ground-based attraction to see the wildlife of Pandora... and of course something that will take you in the air.

Put it all together and maybe you get a choice of paths taking you to the ground-based ride. No lines in the traditional sense -- these are like the two walking trails that already exist in AK, but obviously based on fictional plant life and creatures. These could be longish paths with opportunities to divert and experience smaller things hidden among them -- and if there are two or three paths heading toward the same destination (the ride) it would cut down on the actual herding experience of being in a line.

Then, after the ground-based attraction -- say, a ride through the forest floor and encounters with dangerous beasts -- you go into a holding area that's essentially an elaborate preshow for the next ride where you are given your own "Avatar."

You don't feel like you're waiting in line here, but you are -- and when your Avatar is ready, you head to the next attraction to take to the skies.

Maybe something like Soarin, except you fly over the Hallelujah Mountains. Or getting to ride an Ikran as a hunter. But I really hope at night the whole land lights up like the forest!

1. What Disney should do: Go big. DisneySea big. Treehouses with connecting bridges. A heavily themed dual rollercoaster to simulate flying between the floating mountains. Nighttime park theming for a part of the park that can be left open late. Soarin' type rides. Keep the eco-guilt and preaching to a minimum while getting guests to appreciate the beauty of nature. Sitdown restaurant that is intertwined with a jungle river ride that features food from South America/Indonesian rainforest areas. A new style ride that demonstrates what life could be like on other planets, perhaps a science mission to somewhere other than Pandora. Free-roaming Panoran animals that operate like Lucky the dinosaur did.

2. What Disney will do: Tear down Camp Minnie-Mickey and build new stuff there. Dragons on a round-about ride (like Dumbo/Carpets of Aladin). Lots of gift shops with Avatar-themed merchandise. A counter-service restaurant that serves $12 pizza and $9 chicken nuggets - but with lots of Avatar theming. A ride simulator like StarTours. Lots of theming like the "Honey-I-Shrunk-the-Kids playset at DHS. Meet-and-greet centers with tall blue humanoids with tails. Perhaps a street show or lecture that really drives home the point that we're all really awful beings for merely existing. A 3D glasses show where everyone is strapped to an "Avatar" chair (like Stitch), becoming a Pandoran who gets to go and kill evil humans or something tamer, like saving an injured Pandoran tree-frog (followed by an eco-guilt monologue by the Pandoran leader).

3. What Avatar fans want: A big white tree to pray to

I suspect one ride will be something pretty wild and will cause motion sickness as well as be a bit rough which will mean it limits the younger and older age groups. If this ride goes through the best themed portion of the land or is really spectacular inside I would love to see them develop another ride with mellow movement (like Pirates or even a gentler splash mountain) so that everyone can see the "good parts".
I understand that having two rides interwoven in one attraction can have some issues but I think it is time they start thinking this way.

I can definitely see some sort of attraction where you go in to one area and come out the other as an avatar (like in the movie where he is put into that pod and then wakes up in the Avatar body). Probably would be a start tours like attraction, but probably bigger with new technology

I definitely think some free-roaming aspects will be part of it.

Some sort of water attraction too since the second movie is about the ocean life

They need to do a virtual type ride that is half rollercoaster and half virtual/3D, similar to HP and the Forbidden Journey at IOA. On this ride you will be an Avator and be transformed into one and then you go on a journey through the land.

There also should be a high flying ride across the ground where you can experience everything from above.

Pretty restaurant with continued themeing inside, not sure what type of food to have.

I want an actual AVATAR ride. I want to have a 10' blue monkey AVATAR!

Huge tree in background because you cannot do this that high.

Forest with all the lights as you walk.

A whispering tree with possible environment show.

Roller coaster to simulate the flight.

Virtual reality something but with better graphics then DQ.

Restaurant a must but I have no idea what kind of food they can serve to fit the theme.

:rotfl: Love this!!! :thumbsup2

Whatever they do, they should have two "sides" like they do for Mission Space. The Green side can be for people who like the idea of an Avatar theme, or are at least indifferent to it. The Red side would be for all the haters. When you choose the Red side, they lay you down in a plexiglass tube and put you into a state of suspended animation where you will stay for 30 minutes. Then they wake you up, and off you go to the exit! This will help keep the Green line as short as possible.

I have always thought Avatar was a sci-fi redo of Pocahontas. Stranger in a new world, falling in love with a native lady, native lady teaches stranger about the beauty of nature, the tree plays a major role like mother willow... etc. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Disney probably forced James Cameron to sign over the rights due to copyright infringement:lmao:
I would like to see Harry Potter go to Avatar land and use the tree to make a new wand.

Something interactive going thru forest would be cool. Maybe a coaster, but I think they can be more creative.

Something where you can be up in the trees sounds fun. Maybe a zipline type of ride.

P.S. I hope they DON'T add fragrance to any rides/experiences!

I can see an excellent opportunity for Disney to build a really great themed flying or inverted coaster or perhaps even an walking wing coaster like this one for the flying experience:

Something to bring out the latest in 4D sim technology would be great for a ground show and catch the midpoint crowds. And of course over the top theming and interactive experiences. The nighttime bioluminescence I'm sure will play in heavily. I do think this expansion will turn AK into a full schedule park, adding a nighttime show and elements.

All amazing ideas, so what we do know is they want to really layer the land with animatronic Avatars, which makes me believe there will be a indoor ride highly themed w/ Animatronic Avatars, prob like Indiana Jones ride in DisneyLand mixed with Pirates. Def will have a 4D ride and a show.
I love the idea of letting people choose what side to fight for on a perticular ride...Very Cool

CAN'T WAIT TO TAKE DOWN PotterLand
