If you missed it, 3DisneyNUTS mentioned speaking with a DVC sales rep at DTD who said there will be 2 full service restaurants at SSR. I know it is just a rumor, but I can't help but wonder what type of places they might be if they come to fruition. If anyone is up for it let's brainstorm a few ideas for food type/theme type and put the favs out to a poll. Who knows, maybe someone is watching..

My 2 ideas:

A Cowboy Chic Western Style Steakhouse
An Authentic NY Diner

I LOVE THE NY diner theme!!!!

What about a KATZ type Deli (with the mile high pastrami sandwiches) But that is more like NYC rather than upstate NY.

The locals from the real Saratoga Ny will have to help us on this. I have never been there :)

Since the real Saratoga Springs was for the wealthy...how about something like turn of the century Delmonicos...with an authentic menu available for those that wanted to try it. I also loved the diner or deli idea.

I found this on a website :)

Well, as long as the menu includes horse meat I'm really not picky. Hopefully they'll use young horses they realized were too slow to race rather then old tuff ones they salvaged from the glue factory. Of course, even those if you marinate them just right ............

uuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:sad2: :crazy2: :scared: :faint:

Well horse racing and hot dogs sure do go together. They should have the first one and only "HOT DOG CLUB" "not just dog's" sit down. Can you imagine getting a prime rib or sirloin cut maybe even chicken or turkey (ground of course) hot dog. WOW! that would be cool, with only the best buns and toppings with the option of say new york fry style fries, gourmet soup or salad etc. Just a thought but at SSR only the best will do anything less than that will be just another hot dog joint.

P.S. It would go great with ice cream to.

Whenever wealth is present, the lowly are also there. So to have two restaurants, you'd need two themes. One upper crust, one, not so much so.

The above suggestion about authentic SS cuisine is excellent for the first.

The second could be a family style restaurant where a burlap sack filled with your appetizers, entree, and dessert are strapped to your head. Call it "Feedbags". It can't miss!!!

I don't know anything about the restaurants in Saratoga Springs NY, but if they want a horse themed restaurant...I'd like to see something like the one at Biltmore Estate where they renovated the stables. It's BEAUTIFUL and the food was excellent when we were there!

temporary deviation- but how do i get the main thread title to be bold faced? i tried to edit this thread and tried everything obvious but apparently i am just not capable.?

I love the idea of a stable themed restaurant! but only with food aromas of course...

I think the thread name changes depending on how recently you clicked on it, and whether there are any new replies. It's an automatic kind of thing, controlled by the software...not by us.

It showed up as bold for me, until I clicked on it...then when I went back to the forum and updated it, it changed. No more bold.

Yes, the Stable Cafe. We have AP's for the Biltmore Estate and eat there almost every trip. Real cool restaurant. The booths are actually in the old horse stalls. That would be an excellent theme IMHO.

really cool theme Katie!!!!! That would be great there :)

cruise - would you take some pictures of the cafe next time you are there? I tried to find some online...but didn't find anything. It's probably something you need to see in person in order to full appreciate it...but it would be neat to post some pictures here for folks that have never been. Here's one very small picture http://www.biltmore.com/special/groups/facilities_stable.shtml

Ummm...oops! Maybe don't bother with those pictures...unless they allow it inside the stable only... http://www.work-at-home.org/work_at_home_bilmore_dontdo.htm :confused3 :rotfl:

Wish I lived close enough to have APs to Biltmore. I just want to go during the holidays sometime. :)

ric...definitly appetizing food aromas only! ;)

Something with a Racetrack theme. Memorabilia and food items from famous racetracks, like Churchill Downs in Ky, Pimlico, the Belmont, etc.

I know something is in the works--received an email about what we eat--menu or buffet--etc, etc, posted this about a week ago.

Thanks, I missed that post...

This was on last night and I forgot to Tivo it so I am going to watch it today! Pretty cool huh? If anyone gets food Network it is Rachel Ray's show $40 a day! It is how to eat in different spots all over the world for only $40. Today is Saratoga NY. But it can give us ideas for restaurants.
I wish she would do WDW!
