JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, came out in 2020 as being against the self identification changes proposed in Scotland. PP is stating that there wasn't a huge outrage when Universal puts in new Harry Potter things but there is an outrage when Disney announces they are putting their name on a park in the UAE. I think there is a huge difference between a content creator stating their personal beliefs that self identified Trans people shouldn't be welcomed into single sex spaces, and a government putting people in prison for engaging in consensual acts with another only due to the sexes of both involved. Not to mention the facts of the lack of rights for all women.

Ah but theres much much to the Harry Potter creator than just stating her personal beliefs. She uses the money that is generated from the Harry Potter franchise, which include huge profits from Universal Parks, for political lobbying in The UK and in particular to fund the group which was successful in changing a UK law about biological women in April 2025. She has been the main high profile supporter of this new law, which is very anti LBTGQI+

Now due the money that the Harry Potter franchise has generated, The UK is a lot more aligned with UAE anti LBTGQI+ law.

Which is why everyone is questioning the theme park influencers and especially the UK themepark influencers, who are pearl clutching about the UAE Disney Park, yet are falling over themselves to get invited to all the Universal Florida Epic Universe previews and events.

I was not aware of the Supreme Court decision. I believe the court went too far in the ruling, but agree with parts of it.
I also vehemently disagree that the UK is anywhere close to being aligned with the UAE on LGBT policy. Big difference between consensual sex between adults being punishable by years in prison and a biological male not being put into a women's prison, or not being allowed into a women's locker room.

The real answer is that very few individuals in the west agree with the stance the UAE has regarding these issues, yet there are quite a few people that agree with JKR's stance, possibly a majority.

The real answer is that very few individuals in the west agree with the stance the UAE has regarding these issues, yet there are quite a few people that agree with JKR's stance, possibly a majority.

Or the theme park community choose to look the other way and ignore the connection between Universal theme parks and what the profits are funding in The UK because they dont want to loose their internet clout and financial benefit.

I agree with J.K Rowling's stance. She is a supporter of women's rights and I stand with her all the way. Thankfully the high court agreed and common sense prevails again in the UK. Biological women are the only true women and policy makers are reversing all previous policies put in place.
