Ok so my girlfriend and I will be there in March...I wanted to have a special romantic evening planned for her. I was thinkin about possibly watching Wishes from either California Grill or the beach at the Polynesian...what do yall think? Or maybe do you have any better ideas?

Nope - either Cal Grill watching Wishes or V&A are the best I can think of to do for a romantic evening at WDW. I think you've got the right idea. :thumbsup2

Tim, who would like to be taking his dw for a romantic dinner at the Cal Grill instead of sitting here at work.

What about dinner at California Grill followed by a cruise to watch the fireworks?

This is what I'm talking about!!!! LOL!! Nice post!! I'm hoping everyone will post more ideas on this topic!!!

Dinner @ California Grill, see if you can get there before wishes, then either catch it before dinner or during dinner (my wife and I have done both). The waitstaff even held off brining our food until the show was over!

Or you could take a bus to Port Orleans - Riverside, catch the boat to DTD and eat at one of the great places there. Even better if there is a chill in the air and you have to sit close :thumbsup2

I think anything to do with a boat and water would do good, unless it's fishing, then again, some woman may think that is romantic!

do the fireworks cruises have the music to wishes playing?

The premium cruise does. I believe it's $235 plus tax and tip so it may not be in your budget for just the two of you. The boat does fit I believe 10 people so you could find other people to join you - howevere that would take away from the romance a bit :)

I say have a nice meal somewhere and bring a beach blanket with you and snuggle on the beach at the Poly to watch wishes :)

How about dinner at Rose and Crown with a table outside right by the water and if you time it right you could still be sitting there when Illuminations starts. I know they say they can't guarantee you a table, but my DH put the manlky charm on the hostess for our anniversary and we ended up right by the water and with free champagne. It was very romantic.

As of Nov all of the fireworks cruises should have the Wishes music.

That's not what I was told when I booked mine last week. . The standard wishes cruise doesn't have the music, the premium does have the music.

Window seat at Bistro de Paris, watch Illuminations.

Found (and kept) this from a thread a few years back. Always wanted to try, but haven't yet. May have to re-check the times.

• An evening on Seven Seas Lagoon: eat at the Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. If you time it right (get there for about 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM), you can have a nice meal and finish dessert just after 9 PM, at which time you can stroll down to the dock or the beach to watch the Electric Water Pageant as it passes the Lodge. Then board the next boat toward the MK, (no earlier than 9:45 PM) and you will be halfway across the lake when the 10 PM fireworks start over Cinderella Castle. This is a beautiful way to view the fireworks, and is really romantic as the boat captain will dim the onboard lights during the show, and may even pause before docking to allow you to see the show to the end. Sit in the front of the boat for the best view, it's really beautiful.

Great idea!

While we were waiting for Illuminations to start, my husband snuck off & got us a couple of glasses of champagne in France. The champagne added a nice romantic touch to a spectacular show!

You could just slip her a "Mickey" ::MickeyMo :lmao:

Seriously though - California Grill and a cruise is very nice. :thumbsup2 You could go walk the river ar POR after dinner. :woohoo:
