My sis sent my DS several "care" packages during his first year of college.
The no. one thing he got a kick out of and definately used ......
FEBREEZE!!!!
I second the cheap microwave and snack idea. My DS got a cheap one from Walmart and it's going strong on it's fourth year, it works great.
The gift cards are a good idea... especially gas gift cards if he is taking a car to school.
