Kind of a silly question, but we are headed to DL in Nov, and our 5 year old daughter will be dressing up in a princess outfit at least one of the days, and then will have disney shirts the rest of the days. We dont want our 2 1/2 year old boy to feel left out... any ideas, or should we just do disney t-shirts for him too?

I've seen a lot of little boys dress up as Buzz, Woody, knights, and Pirates. But ultimately it should be about comfort. If he would be more comfortable in a Disney t shirt, get him one with his favorite character or even make your own with iron on transfers to make him feel special.

You could dress him up as a pirate. With Halloween coming up, there are tons of fairly cheap outfits in stores right now (or will be soon).

DD at the age 2 did not like dressing up because it was constricting, I found pirate to be the most comfortable for her. Star Wars has a lot of toddler friendly costumes too.

My DS5 has been dressing in costume for our Disneyland trips since he was three, since his older sister loves wearing the princess costumes. (Alas, now that she's 8, I think this will probably be the last year that princesses will hold appeal for her.) We buy them at Target (since we go at Halloween season) or at Disneystore.com. He has dressed as Woody, Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear, and Lightning McQueen. This year he wants to dress as Mr. Potatohead and a Jedi. (Those costumes were on sale at Target.com as of last week.)

My DS dressed as Mickey almost every time we went to DL when he was two! A black shirt (long in winter, short in summer), red shorts with big white buttons and a little bit of mascara on his nose. And of course his Mickey Mouse ears. Comfy and easy!

My son wore his Buzz costume two of the days we were there. He also wore his Buzz sweatshirt a lot. My kids have enough character shirts that they can wear one everyday we are there. He just got a Spider Man sweatshirt at Penney's that has what looks like Spidey eyes on the hood. They had Star Wars and some others too.

My boys have never dressed up before, but they do wear this:

My husband bought the mens version at DL and they all three wear them when we are at the parks. We get so many compliments, and a lot of the CM's address the boys as Buzz, they get a kick out of it! Best part is, this is on sale right now! It's a nice quality and I was super nervous about white, but it's always come clean in the wash!

If you make an appointment at the bibbidi bobbidi boutique, for $15.95, they will do your little guy's hair in a cool disney hairdo and give him a sword and shield to make him a knight for the day. This is a pic of my daughter and her BFF after their BBB makeovers:

My 4-yr old dressed as Buzz for our May trip. We only put the costume on just before the buzz meet & greet at DCA Pier. The cool thing? We got probably 40 pics with Buzz and Jessie - the characters picked him out as they were switching shifts and completely fawned over him, lots of silly poses. They spent a solid 5 mins on just my family. We also had prepurchased photopass+ for the first time, so getting those pics = awesome !! And DS still talks about Buzz and Jessie being ."his friends"!

When my son was 8, he dressed up in a Stitch costume that he had worn for Halloween. He received alot of compliments. It would be great to see more boys dressing up. I think Peter Pan or Pirates would be great costumes.

Didn't think of it at the time, but a train engineer outfit with striped overalls, a railroad hat, and bandana would be ideal. I've even seen a photo of the DL Railroad crew with a toddler wearing such a getup. Can't seem to find the one I remember though.

^I saw a little boy dressed like that before! He was getting to ride in the tender car at Main St station. He was SO excited. It was beyond adorable:goodvibes

I think a pirate, Peter Pan, Mickey or Buzz are all great ideas! If he isn't willing to get all dressed up, though, I'd suggest a character hoodie. Super comfy and casual, but would still make him feel like he's part of the magic.

My son brought his Buzz Halloween costume and wore that sometime when we went in 2011. Our last trip he just wore his cool sweatshirts (he has Buzz, Batman, and Spiderman) with his jeans and t-shirts. I think it's a real oversight that they don't have costumes/outfits for.little boys like they do for the girls.

My little cousin (he is 4) usually goes either as Peter Pan or Captain Hook. He has also gone as a Jedi.

Star Wars T-Shirt. Hook, or toy story characters. Toy story has some great t-shirts.
