Will the HRH do anything special if I ask? I would love to have balloons etc in our room...is there a number I can call to pay for this?

It will be ds's actual birthday the day we check in ...we are only staying the one night for his birthday :goodvibes

We will arrive about 9am and check in..then go staight to the park....I think our room will be ready about 3 ish so we will come back then..I would love some ballooons and a cake in the room, but don't have a clue if this is possible?

Also any other ideas will be very welcome! :thumbsup2

My son and I did a father/son thing at PBH on his 14th. I let them know that it was his birthday but they didn't even say "Happy Birthday". We had dinner at Trattoria del Porto and when I made ressies they asked if we were celebrating anything and I told them and at least they said "HB" but didn't even cough up a cupcake.
You could contact HRH concierge and arrange a surprise. It will cost you though. I read on one trip report where they charged $45 for a cake after telling them over the phone that it would be $25. The best place to get a cheap cake is Publix.
They used to give kids a reward for getting straight A's and they issued a separate room key that had the kid's name and "Grade A Kids" on it. It would be kind of neat to have your son's room key say "Its my Birthday!" as a keepsake and if you arrange it in advance I don't think there would be an additional charge.
The thing my son will always remember about his birthday is that I let him have a little mini-bar bottle of Bacardi because there was some song "...party like its your birthday...". We don't drink and there is no alcohol in the house so he was curious. We had a long talk about drinking and I'm happy that he hasn't had a drink since. That and scoring 999,999 on Men In Black that day will stay with him forever.

I just got back from a stay at the RPR. I mentioned it was my husband's birthday when I made the reservations over the phone. The night of my husband's birthday, we found a surprise in the room. The hotel left us a platter of cookies, milk and a basket filled with all kinds of chocolate. It was a nice touch. :hyper:

My DS's cake will be delivered at 2:00, the afternoon of his birthday. He'll be 11 and we'll already have been at the hotel for a couple of days prior to his actual birthday. I ordered it by calling the PBH Concierge number. The cake was $40 for a 7" cake, marble with raspberry filling and vanilla icing. They'll add a delivery charge to it and they'll leave candles for the cake. They took my visa # for payment.

They offered balloons, but I declined those. I have other things up my sleeve for his birthday. He will be wearing a Spiderman birthday button around the parks on March 11th. We are not subtle when we are celebrating. If it gets him a special perk, that's fine. If not, that's ok, too. We're not going for the park staff to do things for him. We're going to surprise him with the best birthday of his life! Best part of the day will be when George Thorogood starts playing and my DS realizes why I've been playing that in my car lately... so he'll know the words to sing along at the concert.

We'll be there that night too. If I see a kid singing, "One bourbon, one scotch and one beer!" :drinking1 I'll say Happy Birthday! :bday:
