Ideas for anniversary while at Disney World?

I love this thread! I just booked our anniversary vacation (a complete surprise to my husband) and love the ideas so far.

Even though our anniversary day happens right before we get to WDW, I plan to wear the anniversary pins throughout the whole trip. Keep the ideas coming!

I love this. I spent my honeymoon in the World as well as my 20th just 2 years ago. We splurged and ate at Victoria and Albert's. One of the best dining experiences of my life.

I also went the route of the glass slipper. It rests in a place of honor in our home.

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Disney without the kids in 2009. We wore our anniversary pins all week, and it wasn't just the CM's who would say "Happy Anniversary" to us, it was a lot of other guests who did also.

For my anniversary gift to my wife we did the "pick an oyster" thing at the Japan pavilion at Epcot. We both picked an oyster and had the pearls set in a double setting ring.

Interesting, my boyfriend and I did that for our 3 month anniv. first time being to disney together. We each got a pearl and he told me to get that ring because it was like the two of us on a ring together. (and I had never said anything about it, even though it was my plan the whole time)

It isn't the most expensive thing in the world, but the meaning of that ring makes it the most special piece of jewelry I own.

When you wear those buttons for a day, you may not wnat to put them on again. ;):rotfl: Your mouth will get dry thanking everyone for those well wishes. :hippie: But seriously, it was sweet. We jsut did it for one day. We are also celebrating our 20th anniversary this year. We snuck in a mom and dad only trip in Jan. before the offical one in a few months, so we ordered the bride and groom Mickey ears and had "our 20th" stitched onto teh back. Itw as fun to wear those around for a day since we hadn't been able to get married at WDW and have them for realz. ;)

I also had a cake designed for us and if I can afford it, will have it ordered and delivered at one of our meals. That one takes some planning so if you're up for that, and those cakes can be $$$$$ (depending), search for the cake thread in the restaurants forum.

My husband and I are going in September, celebrating our 17th anniversary! :cool1: This is the first time in 17 years we are going without kids too, so for us not making 'plans' is our plan. (Our honeymoon was at Disneyland) I had a few ADR's at first, but then we got to thinking, why? We want to be as spontaneous as possible this trip!! :cloud9: Besides, at that time of year we have never had a problem getting into any of the places we like to eat without a reservation. We never do signature dining though, I am way to thrifty to spend that kind of money on food I don't care for. ;) lol Now We are going to MNSSHP during our stay.

Hehehehe! My kind of lady <3. I'm the same way about food- I just can't afford $125 a meal and I'm so picky I probably wouldn't like it simply because it's too "fancy" for me (LOL). Though I have to say, I'm loving all the stories folks are sharing!

My DH and I recently celebrated our 5th anniversary on our trip to WDW (though our anniversary isn't actually until next month! We couldn't afford to go in July).

We celebrated at Cinderella's Royal Table, and got our Anniversary badges to wear all day.

I was just watching MasterChef on DVR tonight and I thought of this thread and had a lightbulb idea. SHULA'S!!!!!! It's at the Dolphin. BEST steak I've ever had in my life. My husband had steak and lobster tail. The chocolate soufflé was to DIE FOR! I don't even remember what my hubby had. I was solely focused on that chocolate soufflé. It's a very upscale environment and the waiters/waitresses are every bit as top notch for a high end place. It's pricey, but not quite as much as V&A and if you're worried about it being stuffy, it's not. Most people dressed at least business casual, but we came over from DHS directly and DH had forgotten to dress appropriatly. No one batted an eye at his cargo shorts and Haunted Mansion t-shirt. ;) Almost all of the clientele we saw during our meal were adults. I'm sure kids were there, but I didn't see any around us or as we walked out from the back of the restaurant to the front. It's dimly lit, but just right if not a hair dark. Good for candlelight accented by a beautiful cloth tablecloth. I couldn't say enough about it! For us 2, we had what we wanted and spent $200 including tip. You don't have to go that high, but you sure can, and more as I only ordered one glass of wine and DH none. It's a PERFECT anniversary dinner place for those that LOVE steak! And it has other choices as well. But that steak was off the charts.

This was our away from the kids, pre- 20th anniversary dinner.

We will be celebrating our 13th anniversary during our trip in August. I've already made an ADR and will leave the boys with a babysitter, but which signature restaurants are best for fireworks? I like the idea of the carriage ride in POR too. :)

Such great ideas!

I would highly recommend a couple's message at the Saratoga Springs or Grand Floridian spa!! My wife and I both loved it!!
