I was just wondering what kind of safety ID tag people have used for their kids..if any. I have ordered the whos shoes id tags. Will those work with crocs? I was just wondering if maybe I should order a dog tag type on a chain. Any ideas? It's gotta be something I can get in a reasonable amount of time. WE LEAVE IN 15 DAYS!!!!!!!

i got a set of dog tags for my DD to wear on field trips, to disney etc. at armynavy.com. the set includes 2 dog tags, 2 silencers (you pick the color) and 2 chains (1 long, 1 short) for $5.95. i ordered them 3 years ago and she still wears them w/o complaint.

I make new ones each trip. Name, my and dh name and cell phone numbers and the location where we're staying. Then I laminate them along with a sticker (Disney character) - and put a pin through it and attach it to their shirt.

A Mom in school has a business and makes the cutest tags. Cell and regular number and allergy info but no names or addresses. Very professional and attaches to a landyard. She makes them for businesses too.

Wonder if I have her info somewhere...

We got a gold, heart shaped dog tag from the machine in Petsmart for our DD and put it on a gold chain. It had her name, and our cell #'s on it, and she wore it the whole time no problem. We explained what she should do if she gets seperated from us, and she understood what to do, though we did not have it happen to us. Have a fun, safe trip! :dance3:

I used engraved rubber bracelets on our recent trip. They are the same as the Lance Armstrong ones. I just put, "If I am lost, please call XXXXXXXX at (###) ###-####" The bracelets worked great. My boys wore them from the time we arrived at the airport to the time we got home. As they are waterproof, they wore them swimming. My 7-year old thought it looked cool, so he didn't balk at wearing it.

My only suggestion is to order a couple extra in case, as with my 4-year-old, a bracelet is lost.

The site I ordered from is
www.shanrene.com/custom-wristband-tool.php

Service was great, prices were reasonable and they arrived within a week.

Good luck!

I don't put my child's name on my ID tags - just in case they are found by the WRONG type of person. I simply put a tag through their shoe laces that has our local phone numbers - cell phones and resort phones.

I used the shoe id ones but clipped them around the kids shorts. They could work with crocs, but they might rub and be a little uncomfortable since i would think they woould have to go around the straps.

We used dog tags from the machine at Walmart, they had a POTC tag, we put my cell and DH cell number on them.

We've always used www.id-inside.com and loved it. My son has been wearing one at Disney and other crowded places (zoos, festivals, etc.) since he was 18 months old and has never had a problem with it, tried to take it off, etc.

Ditto for us, we did not put our DD name on it, but put our cell phones and grandma's phone number back home (if she was lost and our cell phones were dead, forgotten or just un-answered--I thought she could talk to grandma to calm her down)

I thought the POTC tag was cute, very Disney.

We used the extra luggage tags we got from our travel agent. We just tied them to their belt loops (like you would tie them to the luggage) and then stuck them in their pockets. It worked great and was free!
