ID for drinks in Epcot (Canadian)

What ID do I need to get drinks in Epcot? 2 years ago we were not asked for ID but I remember seeing a thread in last year that they had gotten much more strict and we may need to bring our Passports?

Can't your Canadian drivers license contain your photo and birth date? That would be sufficient, I believe.

That is what I would have thought - but I thought I read that some people were denied service (maybe during Food and Wine? Maybe Younger?)

Will they ID everyone?

(We leave tomorrow and are in Epcot on Wednesday so I just want to be prepared!)

I would think that any official government issued ID would work.

Your driver's license will be fine. Not everyone is asked. If you look young just be prepared with it.

eta: I am originally from Canada and often travel with people who still live there. Just in case you were wondering how I know your license will be fine.

they dont really card that often, ive never been carded at epcot personally if you look young you might get carded in that case id bring some sort of government ID

My son in law was asked for ID last week and used his Alberta drivers license with no problem.

my daughter and son-in-law both look young (they're 25) I think in all the restaurants we ate in 4 days at Disney they were carded once out of like 10 different restaurants or bars within Disney World.

Outside the World, they get carded almost every time we go out with them.

Driver's license that shows your age & photo should work fine.

I am 36 and DH is 38 and we got carded in Epcot. Even had to have my dad by them one time with his id since I had left ours in the room. And he had to show his id at 65. (This was in Sept)

I used my Australian Drivers Licence. I think it's only an issue if the licence isn't in English.

Just to say that last August, my UK drivers licence was refused as the CM told us new rules were that international licences were no longer accepted (as they can't know if fake.) Only passports for non-US citizens, I was told.

This may vary by CM, but better safe than sorry, I say. I was really disappointed not to be served that cocktail...

I get carded every time. A couple of years ago, I stood in the sun for 15 minutes on a hot as heck May afternoon for a frozen margarita. I was carded and had no ID on me. I should have been flattered, but I snapped. "Are you serious?! I am 44 years old standing here with my teenage daughter and you are carding me??!!" The CMs looked at each other and handed me my drink. I must've looked like one crazy broad and I apologized to them. I make sure I have my ID now.

This was in November 2013 The CM's had no problem with my drivers licence. I used my drivers licence about 5-6 times during the trip. I would never carry my passport into the parks under any circumstances. If it's only passports, I just won't buy alcoholic drinks.

I'm always asked for ID when I order a drink in the US, I just show my Danish driver license, which has always worked. I never carry my passport in the parks, so if a CM told me that only passport works, I would ask to speak to a supervisor. But again, it has never been an issue. I'm 30 but look younger, so I'm always asked.

It seems to really depend on where you are. We were there December 2013. I was only carded once (at Coral Reef). My driver's license was not good enough for them and I don't carry my passport to the parks so I got nothing. At the same restaurant my husband did not have to show ID and had no problems. I might look really young for my age but I do not look underage. No problems anywhere else.

I did a search and most "proof of age" threads seem to be about child entries and most "passport" threads about international bureaucracies. Closest I could find (though not definitive) is this thread.

I'd rather leave our passports locked up in the resort safe than carry them anywhere.

In the unlikely event I'm asked for proof of ID (and the highly likely event my ageless DW will, of course ), will servers accept a photo of the passport taken on my cellular phone? Or failing that, is the next best bet color photocopies of the passport?

DD is 31 and gets carded frequently at Epcot. Any DL with a picture should work.
