Ice Martini at Le Cellier

A few months ago, I ate at Le Cellier and asked for a unique alcholic drink (when in ... Canada!) The server suggested an Ice Martini that wasn't on the menu which I believe was vodka, white wine, and an olive with a bit of olive juice. It sounded so odd but tasted really good and I ordered the next one dirty with extra olives. Has anyone else gotten this? Do you know what exactly is in it or if Le Cellier is still serving it?
Thanks!

My guess is it was an Ice Wine Martini. It was on the menu some years back. Basically, the ice wine is a very sweet specialty wine and for some reason, it works when mixed with the vodka. I have enjoyed several.

So glad to hear that someone else has heard of this and tried it! I'm not a white wine drinker so I was somewhat hesitant but I wanted something that was 'Canadian'. I'm not sure if the drink is Canadian, but maybe the wine was???

And yes, I found it odd that vodka and white wine tasted well together, but it worked!

Hi Tinkerbellie16,
It sounds like it is Ice Wine which is a Canadian drink. My understanding is that it is made by allwoing the skins of the grapes to freeze lightly. This concentrates the sugar thus making the wine incredibly sweet and wonderful. I am going to be in Canada soon and I recently read about it. I have never had it, though am looking forward to trying it :thumbsup2

Fabulous! I like getting something "local" at the pavillions :)
