Ice makers?

Are there automatic ice makers in the fridges in the 2BRs at BCV or SSR? If not, do you make your own ice with trays or use centrally located ice machines?

Hmmmm, no first hand experience with the 2 bedrooms at those two resorts, but the fridge at OKW has an icemaker.

no - only OKW has the ice makers. I hated to walk down the halls to get ice. they do have a couple of ice trays. but it takes time for those things to make ice. they are empty - so remember to fill them up when you arrive. I never do - so I have to go out for my ice....

I don't remember at SSR.

There are no ice makers at SSR. That is one thing I wish Disney would do. I realize it is a hassle to make sure they are turned off between guests, but it such a pain to either get ice from the machine or buy a bag at grocery. It just seems cheap to me that they don't have them. I love everything else about the resorts, but this one is a mystery to me. We own another timeshare off property and they have them. They are always turned off when you get there and you have to remember to turn them on.

It is most likely a sanitation issue. Ice can harbor germs and those icemakers would need to be cleaned between guests. The health dept. is very strict on ice machines and if you notice, the large machines are closed and only have a dispenser to access the ice.

The villas don't follow the same sanitation rules as restaurants and Im no germophobe, but I do prefer to make ice fresh or get it from the machine.

there are ice makers at all the resorts.

In some places it is where the cokes machines are located, sometimes it is in the laundry mat.

but there is one ice makers machine in all the resorts. (at least one)

with BWV, VWL - there was one on each floor.

at SSR there is a big one in the laundry mat - at least I think I saw one there...
