Has anyone else noticed the trend of ice cream containers getting smaller and smaller and prices staying the same or increasing? Most of the major brands used to be 1/2 gallon, and cut down to 1.75 quarts a few years ago. Last week at the grocer I found that Dreyer's has gone down to 1.5 quarts! We have lost 2 cups of ice cream per container in the recent past (and regular prices used to be a lot less than $6.00!). Their ice cream is still good though, but I can only justify name brands when they are on sale.
I'm moving to Texas soon, and I am very excited to be back in the land of Blue Bell! That ice cream is amazing, and the sales are pretty awesome. I especially like their version of Birthday Cake (I'm not sure exactly what its called).
