Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a big special ice cream sundae in the parks/resorts? or a specific ice cream treat (not a mickey bar) that would impress a child that is "stuck" on the kitchen sink thing. I made the mistake of watching a youtube video -- while my son was in the room -- that had B&C kitchen sink sundae in it and he is obsessed with it. He keeps going on about it. But we are NOT buying a huge $29 sundae that will not get consumed. But I wanted to see if I can get him his own special ice cream sundae somewhere.

The Pop Century has a build your own sundae in the food court. My kids love it!

I second the PP's suggestion of Mickey's Kitchen Sink aka the Mickey Pants Sundae. I got one on my last trip and it was one of the best things I've ever gotten!

This is the Mickey Pants Sundae from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor:

What about a Mickey Pants Sundae? You can get them at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor for $14.99, which is still a little $$$ but you do get to keep the Mickey Pants so it makes a cool souvenir.

This sounds like just the kind of thing I'm looking for! Thanks for the suggestion. He would be impressed by that and the mickey pants make it Disney-special.

It wasn't really the price of the kitchen sink so much that we aren't going to consume that much ice cream. And I'm not sure we can get reservations to Beaches and Cream anyway.

We love it!

I would skip B&C and head to the Plaza, as others have suggested. The Mickey Pants Sundae is a favorite of ours and makes a great popcorn bowl when you get home. My adult son loves his popcorn! LOL!

Beaches and Creame has wonderful ice cream it's at Beach club, 10 min walk from Epcot!!!
By all reports, Beaches and Cream has Edy's brand ice cream. Ample Hills Creamery, on the Boardwalk side, is probably about the same distance from Epcot, perhaps just a little bit further, and hopefully much better ice cream. (I haven't been there yet.)

But in this case, we're dealing with a kid who's almost certainly motivated by looks, not taste, so I expect B&C or the Micky Pants sundae to be the right choices.

Ample Hills' ice cream is much better, but I agree that if the goal is to get a Disney-specific treat, the Mickey Pants sundae probably is the right choice. (But as far as quality of ice cream, I still dream about Ample Hills...)

Yes. That is spot on. He is wanting something "big" and special.

The Mickey sink is cute...

Beaches and cream
Or in magic kingdom.

I don't know if the ample hills at Boardwalk has anything comparable...but their ice cream is better

OK, ill be the odd man out here. If that is his wish for WDW, I would try to make it happen. If that is what he has his heart set on, a substitute will not fill that wish. When I was a little girl there was this ice cream place in Virginia that made something very similar to the kitchen sink but in a fire truck theme. It was huge and the eight of us barely make a dent in it but that memory is still fresh and so special. I remember so little about that trip but that ice cream, i do and i am 52 years old. 29.00 is so little when you are talking about a four digit vacation. Make it your lunch one day! Cheap lunch and you are on vacation. Id at least try to get an ADV for it and then go from there.

Poor kid having to wait on you to take a picture! pirate: Cmon give it to him already
No child was hurt in the taking of this photo... and he was ready for ice cream way before the ice cream arrived (actually, all of us were).

How many scoops are in that?
I think it was three scoops of ice cream, a sauce, whipped cream and cherries. We got ours in the Magic Kingdom, but I seem to remember that it was not listed on the actual menu (don't know if that has changed). There were a bunch of the plastic sinks visible though, and no one blinked an eye when I ordered one.

I just had to get the Mickey pants when we went to the Plaza last year. I too believe it was 3 scoops. I did not come close to finishing it but we did clean it out and carry that darn thing with us all day. No lie, it is now in my bathroom at home. As a child, I might actually prefer the Mickey pants sink to the 'real sink'.....and you can take it home!!!
