I would Love to hear the best experiences at the Biergarten and the worst.

We're a family of 4 and we were seated with one older couple and two women. THe women were horribly anti-social. They ate and ran. After they left, I turned to the older couple and said "okay, now that they're gone - hello!" That became a great conversation time. They are cast members, work there part-time in the winter only and gave us their whole story.

Very interesting and fun. And the food was really good too. We will definitely go back there.

I was thinking of going as a part of the CP dinner package but I noticed the price increase and I'm not sure it's sure the extra expense. Maybe I will do dinner without the package. I will have 6 people in my party and I'm sure my dad will love the table and beer. He is a very social guy and beer drinker. I may have to do an ADR.

Always wanted to try it but have worried it would be difficult getting in and out between the tables???

The first time we ate here I was a little worried as well as there were only the 3 of us, but it was a great experience! The other family was a family of 4 and other than a nod hello toward each other, we had no conversation with them.

The 2nd time we went we were a group of 8 so we had a table to ourselves. BUT we did witness some unsavoury actions by other patrons, namely a woman changing a childs diaper ON the table!! We were on the lower level so I'm sure I wasn't the only one looking at her totally dumbfounded.

Other than that though, we love the food and atmosphere here!

This is the kind of stuff I'm scared of :scared1: What does one do when they see some thing like this?:confused3

Holy flipp'n Mickey droppings, theres not enough beer or Bavarian cheesecake for me to continue sitting there watching such gross disregard for health issues as changing a dirty diaper on an eating table:sick:.... I've seen this on a bus and on a bench never on the dining table..... Thats so gross:scared1: and really what is wrong with some people, it there world and no regards for others.... So hope we ever encounter that... Sorry you did.... Can you tell I have a weak stomach.:lmao:

It may feel a little awkward at first, but just enjoy the people you are with.

DH and I have dined at Biergarten twice at lunch. One year our table mates were chatty and friendly and we had a great time meeting them. Another time our table mates were reserved, and try as we might, DH and I could not engage them in conversation. Or, maybe, they didn't want to converse with us:rolleyes1!

Either way, DH and I just get in our zone and dont worry about the others seated with us if they don't care to engage. It is our vacation, so it is about us, and not the people we sit with.

I've made ADRs to eat at the Biergarten 3 times, but, so far, have only managed to dine there once. (I got H1N1 once and couldn't leave our room, and got urgently called home once.) A couple of the people I regularly travel with love the Biergarten. I like it well enough to be willing to return occasionally. Or at least, try to, considering it's the one meal I've had to miss more than any other on several planned trips.

Honestly, we would never choose to sit at a table with strangers, but we're pretty friendly and chatty by nature, and we generally manage to enjoy ourselves at meals with others. It does make it a slightly less desirable destination when I'm thinking about where to book our ADRs, but most of those I travel with seem to really enjoy it every time.

I will say, my son loves the music and the dancing, and he can find enough to eat there. It's his favorite place in the World Showcase to eat. (His favorite restaurant in Epcot is the Coral Reef. He actually doesn't like the food at Coral Reef, but he loves the view so much that he asks to return every trip.) The overall atmosphere is very appealing.

I just booked dinner on Dec. 8 for the CP package. We are a party of 6. How many people are seated at the table?

This is one of our favorite places to dine in Epcot. We've had wonderful tablemates from all over the world with one exception and they were from California.

There are 8 at a table. We ate here last December as a party of 6. There were two negatives...one was that the couple we were seated with were extremely miserable, not a great restaurant choice for them. The other was that since it was a CP package night we had a looooong wait to be seated for our ADR.
Other than that, we love it there. Great atmosphere, nice variety of food. We were seated the very farthest from the buffet, so if possible, I would ask to be seated closer next time. I was originally a bit worried due to the picky eaters in my family, but there was plenty for everyone.

We ate here in 2008 and I too was a little nervous about sitting with strangers. I'm chatty but my hubby is kinda quiet. It was just my hubby and I and were were seated at a table with other adults. There were people of various ages and from different places. We had a great dinner and it was so much more fun than I had expected. In fact, we are going to the world again in December and have planned two meals here (at my husbands request ) The food and atmosphere are really great. I say just relax and go and you will be very glad you did!

We have eaten there twice and had two totally different experiences. Once we were with several professional people that were there for a conference and it was quite nice talking with them. BUT, the next time we were stuck sitting in the middle of the table and it was almost impossible to get out of our seats to get food. Plus the two ladies and one kid beside us had NO table manners. The kid was even reaching into my plate and I was not happy. She was loud and kept kicking the chairs and table; adults never said anything to her. Couldn't wait for them to leave the table so I could relax and enjoy my food. We will be going back in November for lunch because my DH loves the food but we are not thrilled with the seating arrangements. It keeps us from going as often as we like. It's just not our "cup of tea".

Been twice and loved it! I loved all the cold salads, schnitzel and bratwurst! Wait staff super friendly and I never minded sharing table with strangers, Im not real outgoing but DH is so it works very well. Have met some great ppl including a older couple retired from Disney!

I hear you about table manners,if we didn't exercise them as children growing up we didn't eat...Italian up bringing..... The only negative about that is I find I have a very low tolerance for this such behavior as you describe, which the only one at the table not enjoying themselves at the table is me:lmao: I read a page or two back about some women choosing to change a dirty diaper on one of the eating tables, my up bringing and low tolerance for the inappropriate is asking myself is their enough beer available to with stand some of these negative incidences mentioned on here... We tend to focus on the bad reveiws rather than all the good comments... Still gonna try to relax and go with the flow.... Let ya know how that works out:rotfl2:
