I would Love to hear the best experiences at the Biergarten and the worst.

We loved the Biergarten! We too are a family of three, and sat with another family of 4 or 5. They had already started to eat, when we sat down. Honestly, it was so loud where we were sitting, we said hello and smiled, and that was about all the interaction with the other group. Plus, there was enough room between the two parties you didn't really feel like you were on top one another. I found it comfortable.

Go, enjoy and tell your wife to let her hair down and enjoy the meal:rotfl: kidding :goodvibes

We tried the Biergarten last year for the first time. I am glad we finally went because we like trying new things and we had a pleasant time but we won't be rushing back again, the food just isn't our favorite.

We had our teenagers with us and we were seated with 3 other adults. We didn't mind at all. I think maybe after a few days of communing with a lot of humans in tight spaces (planes, lines, buses etc.) when it's it hot and sticky, sharing a table in an air conditioned building while being fed is no big deal. Generally, people at Disney are very kind hearted and we enjoy sharing experiences with others. Of course, there are always the exception but so is life. Besides, you are up and down getting food and watching the show, you really don't notice the other people too much. If they are really rude or have bad manners, use it as a moment to teach your kids how not to behave ;)

Have a great time!

We are a family of 4, and they sat us with two couples. The couples were there first, so they were already seated at the rail before we were even brought in. They were not together, but seemed to be enjoying some good chitchat. We were pretty much left to ourselves.
The communal seating didn't bother me, but it wasn't fun and didn't add to the experience. Maybe our experience would have been different if we'd been put with another family.

We willbe there soon and DD4 will chat people up whether they want to be or not ;)

We were just a couple when we first ate at Biergarten, and were seated with a family of 4 and another couple. It was a great meal. Aside from a pleasant 'hello' and 'how was your day at Epcot' everyone pretty much kept to themselves. We had no problems with unsavoury table manners or inappropriate conversations. I think most people in this situation would tend to be a bit more circumspect.

Perhaps because of our years living in Europe, we did not find this situation strange or uncomfortable. It is quite common to have shared tables in some areas of Europe (especially the beergardens). No need to try to be anyones new best friend. Just common courtesy and good manners.

I really hope you have a lovely time when you dine there. And I really loved the food. You really need to try the Sauerbraten.

took DBr to the World with me last year & ate at Biergarten.. We are both naturally gregarious people (used to embarass our kids when they were young) so the communal table was right up our alley. We sat next to a lovely young German couple who gave us great beer recommendations and told us all about their country. It was wonderful! We had such a good time with them, we gave them our Soarin' Fastpasses as they had been unable to ride as yet & were leaving in the very early AM. Our other tablemates (party of 4) were nice but did not socialize with us. They really missed some great stories (and the really good beer!!!)

I'm sort of old so I don't know if this fits the concept of "keeping it real" :confused3

We ate there on our last trip. I was really nervous about it, but my MIL wanted to take my DD there so bad.

It was so nice!! The food was good, DD loved the band and we sat with a lovely group.

DD sat between my ILs so not to "bug" our table mates. And the people we sat with, one was a cast member who was actually from our area originally!! It was pretty neat talking with her.

I would go back in a heartbeat. We really enjoyed ourselves!

I'm Italian and grew up in an italian house hold, its all about the food, so the conversation was pass the salt or grated cheese:lmao: I'm the ops wife and a hairdresser I cut hair and converse basically for a living.... Love the idea of sitting with a fun group and sharing stories and antics and appreciate all the help by all of you sharing your experience, it helps to wipe out any apprehension I had....:thumbsup2 Thank You

Donnaduck.....my husband (who just happens to be from Austria), told me the first time I went to Germany and Austria to "let my hair down" and just enjoy myself. So now, the running joke is to "let the hair down". No offense was meant....But I too am a bit skiddish (for lack of better term) about sharing a table. But it was a good experience - and no clanking (except between us three was had) :rotfl:

No offense taken, it was funny, and true.... I over think these things and kind of a control freak owning my own business, so good adivce actually and I'm gonna take it:)... Hoping my experience there is as good as yours:thumbsup2

After reading these comments I am really looking forward to experiencing the biergarten! We have ADR on the 17th for a late lunch. DH and I are very social people and will talk to anyone so we are hoping to be seat with social people/families, if we are not oh well we will make friends in line for rides :cool1:

We, as a family of 4, were also a little apprehensive about sharing a table. We had another family next to us and although getting in and out was awkward because we were in a corner it wasn't a horrific experience. We're booking again next year :thumbsup2

Well , I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one that was a little apprehensive :confused3 about sharing the table at the Biergarten, But I think with all the helpful posts I'm now leaning towards going. I think as long as I keep a good attitude and get in line early enough and get to the podium as soon as the buzzer goes off and I get a railing seat my experience should be top notch. :cool1: Oh and order beer, must order beer. :lmao: honestly looking most forward to the food. Thank You and feel free to keep sharing your stories.

Will be at the Biergarten in a week or so for the first time! I've been to the parks a handful of times but have never done the Biergarten, although i've been to one in Munich.

It sounds like a great time and i hope my DD1 and DD5 enjoy the music!

I made my wife agree to this res to get out of the habit of going to the same restaurants every trip. Can't wait for this experience!!!

We have eaten at Biergarten several times, sometimes as a family and others just DH and I. I can only think of once.. say in the last 10 years that was bad.
We were called and headed for the table when we got to the table the smell of smoke was so bad, I started looking around I thought that someone was smoking inside the restaurant. The people at the table were apparently heavy heavy smokers, and seemed to be a well on their way to being completely in the brown bag. There was an empty seat next to me, when the man came back to the table, I gagged.. the smell was so awful. The server was on the way to the table as we were getting up, DH told him, that we could not eat here and he stated that we were the 2nd family to get up and leave. He did take us back to the podium and tell the Hostess not to sit the rest of that table. They did find us another table well away from this family. We did enjoy the rest of our evening there.

That was the only time, that I would consider horrible. We have sat with others that kept to themselves, but that did not bother us. We just enjoyed our experience. It's all about what you make it. We really enjoy the food and it's really fun. Try it out and decide for yourself.

somewhat misspent youth in Torrington as a long time member of the Torrington Civic Theater and Summertime Players (performed at the Warner waaay back when) As a matter of fact, my AMC Pacer and I crawled up East Main St the night the storm of '78 hit!! Oh boy what a memory!!

As a kid we went (family of 4) & always enjoyed ourselves.

Went last Oct with my mom & we were seated with 2 other parties. Everybody said hello, where you from, how long you here, where you staying, but then with the food & entertainment we all just sort of watched the show. It was a nice time.
