I finally have a moment to give a short review of The Wish. DH and I cruised 9/23-9/26, we were the last cruise before the hurricane hit. Our stateroom was 10152, Oceanview Verrandah.

I think The Wish is now my favorite ship.

Pros - Almost Everything….size, decor, pools, lounges, food, activity areas and kids spaces.

Cons - Slight problems with Elevators and getting into and out of adult pool, plus too many expensive shops IMHP.

I thought the ship was stunning. I loved all the adult bars and lounges spread out all over the ship.
I like the smaller spilt dining rooms. I did not have the opportunity to try any of the Adult only restaurants on my 3 night, but I did tour The Rose and Palo, they look beautiful. I got a peak of Enchante, too. I loved Marceline’s Market. Finally, real separate stations. (one comment, please go back to putting rolled cutlery on tables).

I loved the Bayou lounge. I stopped by one evening while either folks were at the early dinner or show. It was very quiet. I loved the entertainment. Had a nice cocktail and a Beignet, yummy!

I really like the adult pool area, secluded and of cushioned loungers. I really like the water space. However, it was tricky getting in and out of that pool. I enjoyed a personalized cocktail from my bartender, Wayan. Shout out to some fantastic service. I am sure with the new Treasure Ship some of the missed steps regards pool will be amended. I checked out the Cove Cafe, but didn’t get anything, it’s a lovely space.

The family pools were a plus, plus!!! Plenty of places to get cool. They have two pools on deck 12 that are 4’6” deep and they were always pretty quiet. They are a nice size too. I also, like the warm low pool with waterfall in deck 12. Great spaces.

I rode AquaMouse. It was a lot of fun and easy to get on. I think I like the AquaDuck a little better, it’s longer, but you need to climb those stairs. AquaMouse seemed quicker with one fast and fun section. But, I would definitely try to ride it a few times on my next cruise on The Wish.DEB6252E-8F12-45BF-B341-2F3FCE664976.jpeg

I thought the Hero Zone was fantastic. Indoor basketball, large area with multiple ping pong tables, upper viewing area with billiards, air hockey and foosball. I saw the Incredible course set up and in action, boy that looked like a lot of fun.

I toured the Kids clubs, I did not go down the slide. What a fantastic set up, so much fun for the kids.

I went to a DVC event in the Luna lounge, that two tiered space is great, I also, spent a little time at the Keg and Compass, which is right by the upper level of the Luna Lounge. K&C is a really nice space. I wish I was hungry when I was there, because the food offerings looked yummy.

The RainForest Space looks so great, I didn’t get to check on the 2nd day if there were any daily passes available. It’s a definite do on a future cruise.

My husband used the gym, he said, it was the best DCL gym he has ever used. He is a weight lifter. He really liked the layout. (He has used the gym on Magic and Dream)

Our cabin was beautiful and our stateroom hostess, Jeryll was phenomenal. (20 plus years with DCL). Our cabin was AFT, very convenient for most MDR and Marceline’s Market, plus adult pool area and AquqMouse.

I didn’t really venture to that Forward Deck 12 area wit the family pool or Concierge. We did not partake in any of the shows. My husband did see a movie. He really liked the theater. I did tour both movie theaters, they were stunning. The decor and details of this ship are on a different level compared to all the other ships.

I like all the MDR, food was B+, as usual. My steak dish a Marvel the first night was probably my favorite entree. I like 1923 decor and feel the best. DH and I are Disney light people, so the shows are not something we are looking forward to.
I tried Joyful Sweets, gelato was pretty good.
I did try Mickeys Festival of Foods, BBQ and Tacos. I thought both places the food was good, but not the way folks were raving about it. But I did have try both about 5pm right when they are slowing done and closing at 6pm.

Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of the ship to see the Fireworks from our balcony but we could hear them. We also, could see their reflection water and sky, very cool. Next time I need to book the other side of the ship.

I didn’t take many photos onboard. I took videos to show my sons. I am trying to think of anything else I missed . Oh, Grand Foyer was lovely.
And too many upscale stores for me. I thought they looked lovely, but it’s not my cup of tea.
Overall, The Disney Wish was a hit for me. I can’t wait to sail her again. I am also, so looking forward to her sister ship The Treasure.

Also, I didn’t find it hard to navigate. DH and me took a tour the first day. Oh, elevators were a little tricky with some only going to 11 or 12 or 13. I used mostly AFT elevators.

And a shout out to Ashley, with the DVC a staff. Due to the hurricane we had to shorten out post cruise stay at the Poly, The DVC staff, especially, Ashley went out of there way to help me.

I meet so many folks that this was their first DCL. A few had future cruises booked on The Magic. I told them expect a difference decor but the same Disney Service. I meet one young women, in the adult pool, who told it was her first cruise. She said, she could not imagine vacationing any other way in the future. She was hooked.🚢👍🏻💫✨

For anyone sailing on The Wish in the future. Enjoy, she is a beautiful ship. Take it all in and have fun.😎👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🚢🚢

You can watch the fireworks from the pool decks, too.

"I did not go down the slide." 😆

I forgot to mention, I thought we would never make it to port. We got a flat tire on I 95 South in the beginning of SC. It took AAA almost 3 hours to arrive.
We drove to Saint Augustine for the night and then to the port on a spar. We live in NJ, so I know it’s a long drive, but that flat really put a dent in the trip.

We drove to WDW after cruise. The Walt Disney Car Care Center was phenomenal. DH was expecting that the tire could not be fixed and he was correct. A shout out to Patrick, who helped us with our new set of tires.
My DH was very impressed by the service.

I also forgot to mention CC day. The weather was perfect. We had no problem finding chairs and an umbrella at Pelican Point. I snorkeled and boy is that a far swim out to see the fun stuff. The last time I snorkeled at CC was 2014 and it was very different.

So, flat tire, great cruise, new tires, shortened stay at the Poly and beating it out of Florida before a Hurricane hits. It was an interesting week for sure.

🙏🙏🙏 for all affected by Hurricane Ian.

Thank you for your report and glad to hear all worked out with the tire! We sail the Wish in a couple months and I'm definitely getting excited to finally check it out for myself.

We were on the 10/3-10/7 sailing of the Wish and completely agree! The ship has its quirks but we really enjoyed it and would like to sail on her again (though would need to do a B2B because 4 nights is way too short)!

At least you had 4 night. 3 was way too short. Glad you had a good cruise.😎👍🏻🚢 I guess we will have to wait for The Treasure to take over the short cruise in 2024. I thought wouldn’t this be great for 7 nights. Or a 5 night double dipper.

The Treasure is more likely to take the Fantasy's 7-night Caribbean itineraries than it is to take the Wish's 3/4-night Bahamian itineraries. That's what happened when the Dream and Fantasy were new, anyway.

exactly this!

That adult pool was a little scary getting out of for some reason. Only went in once when we got back on the ship after CC.

Took the stairs whenever we could because the elevators being so rectangular it was hard to get out if you were in the back. Also one time someone leaned wrong and lit up all the buttons.

I barely ever saw anyone in the jewelry stores, also having those big round porthole windows in a fancy pants store was a waste. Although on our sea day I went into the store to take a picture of a cargo ship that looked like it was heading straight for us. :rotfl:
