I won't be getting ME tags!

Just found out that international travellers will not be receiving DME luggage tags or any documentation at all. We can still use the service, just without tags.

I was a bit irritated by that as it just causes extra hassle after the 90 min flight down to London, 2.5 hour stopover then a 9 hour flight. Needless to say, I am not at my best on arrival at the airport!

I'll mark my own luggage with resort name and DME but I'm still wary.

Also, I've seen mention of luggage claim checks that can be handed over to the ME staff. I have no idea what they are.

This isn't true. International arrivals are able to obtain DME tags. Claim your luggage before going to customs, then place them back on the belt so that DME can get it.

If you want them to mail them internationally, that might be something different though. I don't know if they'll do that.

Luggage claim checks are what you get when you check in at the airport and give them your luggage. They usually staple or stick them on the inside of your ticket jacket.

I just can't get consistent information. I already knew that I would have to claim my luggage before customs then put it back on the belt. This has always happened for international arrivals - 2 waits at 2 carousels, oh joy.

So if they won't mail them internationally, how do I get my tags?
