I WON -- I think

I posted this on "trip reports" too. But you guys at the budget board are my best friends on the DIS. I read this line almost every day, even when I don't have a trip actually planned, you all help me dream and take a 15 minute "mental vacation" in the morning.Yesterday I got a phone call saying that I won the grand prize--a trip to DisneyWorld.

The prize is airafre, accomodations, and 4 day park hoppers for a family of four.

I was so surprised that I did not catch the call letters of the station but the DJ calling said that she was "radio Disney." She also asked "what, no scream?"

I didn't scream because I was waiting for the part about "This prize is yours if you just sit through a 13 hour timeshare presentation, after which you are free to go if you just leave your firstborn child with us. This prize is good anytime as long as it is
next week."

None of that. She said that the paperwork will come in the mail at should arrive on Thursday. We did win a carribean cruise years ago so I know it COULD happen.

I'll read the paperwork on Thursday and let you know. Maybe then I'll do the dance of joy and even lete out a tiny scream.

I enter any contest where Disney is the prize. Maybe it paid off.

Till then I'm dreaming. . . where do you suppose you sleep if a radio station is paying the bill?? where woudl I eat if I could empty our change jar and instead of spending it on airafre I could just buy meals??

You know, I was thinking about this the other day. I was filling out an entry form for a contest where the prize was a trip to Disney and I thought to myself, if I won and they emailed me, I would probably DELETE it thinking it was some sort of spam or timeshare deal!!!!

I read on another board about someone who won a trip from a local radio station and they got to pick where they wanted to stay at Disney. Her kids wanted the All Stars, but they ended up at the Grand Floridian!!!!!!!!!!

WOW - good for you! We won a trip to the Bahamas about 5 or 6 years ago but we worked with the travel agent that was donating the trip & turned it into a trip to Disney instead!!!!

Now that's addicted to Disney!!!

Hello! Although our story is slightly different we won a cruise, really!

Our local Big Brothers/ Big Sisters were selling raffle tickets for $4,000.00 towards a cruise. (Our DS is in the program through the school where high school students mentor younger ones.) We did not purchase any tickets because we were totally unaware of what ever reason..... But our local American Legion bought several tickets and won! As they could not use it they decided to give it away to a family. The family had to live in the town, have a child in the BB/BS program and have served in the military. My DH served in Shield/ Storm. So........ in December we are doing a Land/Sea with the Wonder!!!

I know, I know, sounds unreal but is the truth.

So, it does happen!

We just won a cruise! We sailed on Carnival Paradise 6/20-6/27. The next to last day, we played Bingo. Prize was a free cruise and we won! I just filled in all the paperwork today and will mail it off tomorrow. We had to list 3 choices. We're hoping to go on DD's Spring Break in March. The free cruise is only for 2 of us so we have to pay for DD, but that's okay.

The neatest thing was that the whole rest of the cruise, people kept coming up to us and congratulating us. It made us the onboard celebrities.

It is always nice to know that the prizes are given to real people and real fanz! Most I have won this year was a fishing creel full of jerky, 100$ from schwans, a wiener mobile, a hulk poster, a scooby poster, a goldfish wallet, a clorox cleaning kit, and a chronicles of Riddick prize pack.

I was trying so hard to win a vacation and gave up.

well just gave up temp so I could plan....

disneysteve, I also won a cruise on Carnival a couple of years ago on the Fascination. I won $500 at Bingo the first night of the cruise and won a free cruise the last day of the cruise. We wound up using it to take a cruise to Canada later that year!!

I really DID win! The paperwork was hand delivered to my door. That was when I really started to believe. DS, DD and DH were all trying not to "count their chickens before they were hatched." But they all kept checking throughout the day to see if the mail had arrived.

When my daughter saw the trademark for Radio Disney she said "don't you know that's the biggest radio station with Disney stuff? It's gotta be good."

We have a full year to take the trip but must make plans by July 22nd.

We will stay on site at a resort to be determined by Disney. Since things turned out so well so far, I'm hoping to go to AK. We've only stayed at the Carribbean Beach or offsite but I've got a dream of sipping an early morning cup of coffee on some deck where I can see giraffes.

With three nights accomodations I think we either will have to pay for some additional nights or have park hopper days left over. We get four 4 day park hoppers. We have some plusses left over from an earlier trip so if the weather is good we can use those too.

So this morning I'm here at the budget board reviewing options for food, drinking out of my Mickey mug, and thinking dreams come true.

I'll write a trip report when we get back.

And I'll still be here almost every morning, getting and sharing good tips with all of you.
