annsteere - That's great. Congratulations. They don't give you much time to make your plans, though. Have a wonderful trip. Its nice to know people do win those things we see advertised all the time.

ripleysmom - That's great. Of course, by the time we're done, the cruise won't be anywhere close to free. We have to pay to bring DD. We need airfare for 3. We have to pay all the taxes and tips. I figure we'll be spending $2500 or more for our "free" cruise.

Steve, did you know that Carnival has cruises that leave from NY? We sailed on the Triumph to Canada.

We did have to pay about $600 extra for the kids but since it left from NY we didn't have to pay airfare.

We won a trip through a local radio station 3 years ago for four people for 4 nights/5 days w/ airfare, park hoppers and $250 disney dollars, a gift basket, VIP seating at the parades, a guest of honor certificate mailed to our house after, a photo album and a character sketch. It's funny too because the week before I won the trip, I had made reservations for one of the All Stars, so I had called to cancel and she asked why and I said because I won a trip!!

We got to pick where we wanted to stay (we stayed at the YC). There should be an area for "special requests" on your paperwork and thats where you should put the resort you wish to stay at. I think if you put nothing, they just put you wherever. I think we picked 2 alternatives in case we didn't get the YC. Since there was only 3 of us at the time including DS who was 2 years old, we decided to extend our trip and stayed 3 nights at the All Stars and used our extra Hoppers.

The NYC cruises and the Baltimore cruises didn't work for the dates we needed. We didn't want to pull DD out of school. So we are sailing on Carnival Glory 3/26 during her Spring break. We're sailing from Port Canaveral to Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Key West and Progreso,Yucatan. We're really looking forward to it.

Yesterday I got a phone call saying that I won the grand prize--a trip to DisneyWorld.

Well isn't that the BEST news that I have heard around here in quite some time! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
