I Wish I May, I Wish I Might, Don't Let Us Miss Our Flight! TR Started!!

It sounds like you have a lot of things to do before your disney trip so the time will fly by. I hope you have fun.

Thanks! It certainly is going quickly! 15 days!!!

I'm enjoying your PTR! I've decided that for our next trip, one of my goals is to have an early morning ADR at MK so that I can get some "empty" park pictures! I've always wondered how people were able to get pictures right in front of the castle without there being much of a crowd. Now I know!!!:woohoo:

Yeah! I do not think you would be disappointed with an early morning Crystal Palace ADR.

It's fun when kids start to remember Disney World more and be excited, too. Has Colby told you which rides he wants to go on?

Have fun in NY!

No, Colby has not told me what rides he wants to go on yet. I am sure once we get there he will start telling us. He has really been impressing me with his memory lately, like remembering a specific outing to the zoo almost 2 months ago! I am thinking he will probably have some clear favorite rides this time and will ask for them repeatedly!

I had a great time in NY, but our flight out got delayed, so I did not get home until 2:30 this morning! And of course today was a work day!!

:yay::yay:2 Weeks!!:yay::yay:

I am still a bit tired from my nearly sleepless night on the way home from NYC. While in the city, I visited my first Disney Store off WDW property! I kept reminding myself that I really did not need to buy anything since I will be at the real thing so soon! I did end up buying two shirts, though. One for Colby and one for myself. They are shirts I would not be able to get at WDW, though, so I did not feel bad about it.

Here is the shirt I got for Colby:

And here is my shirt:

I wore it today in honor of both my visit to NYC and my upcoming trip!!

While finding a little piece of Disney while in NYC was exciting, it was not the highlight of the trip. That was taking two classes with and meeting Mandy Moore!!! (Any So You Think You Can Dance Fans?) I was super excited!! Here she is:

In PTR news, we got our Magical Express booklet and our yellow luggage tags! That must mean we are getting close!!! DH is getting a little worried about not having the DDP this trip, so I had to show him my excel spreadsheet showing him the cost comparison. My prediction is that we will save about $50 per person by paying OOP for food this trip. We shall see how it goes!!

oh, its going to be a whole new trip! Colby is going to have so much fun! i swear James' vocabulary double this trip just by learning park and character and ride names lol.

i love the new shirts!

i can't believe you are almost in single digits!
:cool1::banana::banana::cool1:

hope your math is right for your dining plan!

Alright, I have a favor to ask of you- can you take inventory of the different new Disney pillow pets that they have. I can't find them on the website yet.

Yes, Colby is talking so much right now! I know he will be repeating all the names of parks, rides and shows!

I hope my math is right for the dining plan, too...or DH is NOT going to be very happy!!!

I will try to remember! If I add a page for it in my trip journal, I should be able to remember!!

As if there is not enough going on right now...I have spent the last 24 hours working on our shirts. I found an awesome thread that provided directions to make tie-dye Mickey shirts. So, I decided to make some!! They turned out pretty good for my first attempt. I think I am going to outline the Mickey heads on them with either a bleach pen or with puffy paint. Let me know what you think!!

Here are Colby's shirts. The red one turned out better than the yellow one.

Here are mine and DH. These two turned out the best.

Finally, we have Colby checking out the shirts for DSis, DMom, and DBro. I think these three need the outlines the most.

So there we have it!

In other news, I am leaving tomorrow for a conference at State College. I will be gone until Thursday. I will then have 4 days to get packed and ready for Disney!!! Yippie!

Yikes!! We are getting close!! And I have not started packing at all!!!

I made it to my conference last night. I enjoyed the peace of being alone in a hotel room for about an hour before I started missing Colby:sad2:. I cannot do any packing while I am here, but I can make all kinds of lists!! So I am making lists for our carry-on bags, checked bags, grocery list for before we leave, grocery list for DSIL to bring to our hotel...I am sure I will come up with a few more lists sitting all by myself for the next few evenings!

So I have a question for you all...we have been working on potty training with Colby this summer, for a little over a month now. He has been doing really well for me, both at home and when we go out. (Not so well with the babysitter, but I figure that will come eventually.) Oh, yeah...I was going to ask a question. Have any of you taken potty training kiddos to Disney? Did you have any strategies that worked well or not so well? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

So most of my day has been spent full of excitement that one week from today we will be in Disney!!!!

Until about 5 minutes ago when I got a phone call from DH. I am away this week, so it is just him and Colby. Well, tonight Colby fell in the tub and hit his head. Right now they are on their way to the ER so Colby can get stitches!! :sad2: I want to hop in the car and drive home to my baby!!! My mom is with the boys and she is a nurse. I know things will be fine, but I know my baby would want his momma right now!

I am trying to stay possitive...one bright spot is that he hit the back of his head, so you won't be able to see the stitches in any of our pictures...that is important, right?!?!:rotfl:

I wish I was home!! Thanks for listening!

Update: Colby ended up getting 2 staples. They need to stay in for a week, which means they will need to come out while we are in Disney. Fortunatly we are traveling with my mom who is a nurse. The ER doc, who knows my mom since she works at the hospital, slipped my mom staple removers so she can bring them with her. Colby is fixed up and doing fine!

DH, on the other hand, is not doing so well. He is feeling VERY guilty. I have tried talking to him and telling him it is alright...I am surprised we made it this long without stitches, the way DS runs around...again, I feel bad that I am not there to help.

My mom is with them and they are on their way home. She said she is taking care of them both! I feel a little better knowing she is there for them.

love the tees!

I have not taken a potty training kid, but have taken a kid with potty issues. My number one tip would be to take him everytime you pass a bathroom. They get so excited and so busy and dont want to stop what they are doing to tell you that they have to go. Keep an eye on things like juice or popsicles because those tend to run through my kids much quicker.

sorry that Colby fell. I"m glad its all working out with your mom being there. You are lucky that he hit the back of his head LOL. James has a knack for getting some sort of facial ****oo each and every time we have pictures scheduled. In fact, he had a big paper cut on his face for our last trip. I understand you wanting to be there though for sure.

Poor Colby! It's so hard to keep them from getting hurt. I've found baths to be a very dangerous time lately, but it got much better once I bought a huge non-slip mat to lay in the tub. I'm sure Colby would have looked very cute in the pictures, even if he had had two staples showing.

I've never taken potty training kids to Disney, either, but I'll be very interested to see what tips I can pick up from you for next time. :rotfl:

Thanks for the potty tip. We will certainly hit the potty as often as we can, especially before shows or if we have to wait in a longer line!

My boy is going to give me a heart attack someday with how many times he falls or crashes into something!

Yes...the tub is so dangerous! We have the non-slip mat in the tub, but Colby has been into taking showers lately. So he was in our shower stall when it happened, and we don't have a non-slip mat in there! No more showers until we get one!!

I will be sure to share whatever knowledge I gain with Colby potty training at Disney and share the wealth!

OMG!!!! So I have been posting responses to some of the TR I follow and I just looked at my ticker when it popped up and it said 4 DAYS!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I mean, I know in my head that it is 4 days away, but seeing it written on the screen, it just hit me!!

I made it home from my conference last night and spent some quality time with Colby before bed. I missed him sooo much! I am so excited I get to spend lots of quality time with him before the school year starts up again!

This morning we went out shopping for some things we need for our trip. We stopped at Babies R Us and I got a stroller fan for Colby. Then we stopped at Target for a few things, including sunscreen and some snacks for the plane ride.

I have also laid out all of Colby's Disney outfits. He has enough outfits to wear one each day, plus several extras. That got me thinking...maybe we need to expand our wardrobe a little bit...What do you think?

The packing will continue this weekend. I can't believe we are soo close!!

:yay::yay::yay::yay:TOMORROW!!!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Yippie! As I have been sitting here checking in on the DIS, I keep getting these waves of realization that we will be in Disney TOMORROW!!

I am about 90% packed. The last load of laundry is in the drier now. The house is looking pretty picked up. We will run the dishwasher after dinner. (I hate leaving a messy house!)

My mom is coming over tonight to take the staples out of Colby's head. He is healing well and it does not seem to bother him much anymore, so that is good news. He is really excited. He has been fussing all day because he wants to go on the airplane. It does not help that we are about 5 miles from the airport and right on the flight path as planes arrive and take off. We hear several an hour.

Thank you all for following along in our planning and building excitment! At this time tomorrow we will be enjoying ourselves in Disney!!! I will see you all on the other side!!

I'd love to hear your review of the fan after you return.

and no, i don't think you need to expand your wardrobe. before you know it, he will be older and you will be second guessing your clothing, asking if its too babyish, etc. dont sweat it while he's little enough to get away with it on a regular basis!

I'm not even going to pretend that i'm not jealous! I hope you guys have a great great time!

Well, we are home...:sad1:...we had a really good time, with lots of highs, a few lows, and lots of fun, fun, fun!! I am incredibly blessed by awesome in-laws. Tonight my father-in-law picked us up from the airport and brought us home where my mother-in-law was making dinner and had picked up some things from the grocery store for us!! They are so amazing!!

Tomorrow it is back to reality, big time. School starts back tomorrow! I am not looking forward to jumping back into the grind...I could use a few days off!! Oh, well.

Right now I am trying to come up with a good Trip Report Title. I am also editing my photopass pictures. Then I will get on with the show!

I'm glad your trip was fun! I always find coming up with titles the hardest part of TR writing.:rotfl: I'll be eager to hear about your trip!

just coming by to see if you had a new link yet- no rush, by any means, just didn't want to miss it:thumbsup2

No TR yet. I have been busy editing our Photopass pics since I only have 30 days. That combined with the beginning of a new school year has taken a lot of my free time in the evenings.

Can't wait to read your TR and see all the stuff you guys did.

Welcome! I am excited to start my TR and relive all the wonderful memories we had! I promise I will be starting soom!
