I Will NEVER Eat At _______ In WDW Again!!

Mama Melrose. Didn't get seated until 45 minutes after our ADR. They were hopelessly understaffed. Food was below that of Olive Garden. I felt bad for the server who was nice. She comped us Fantasmic tickets which was nice and she didn't have to do. My wife and I didn't complain and she did it anyway.

Anyway, I would never go there again but our service from our server was still good. I think a few servers must have either called out or got fired within a day. I can't explain the poor quality of the food.

Really, When it come to Italian in Disney the only really good place is Il Mulino which price wise would be on par with a two credit dinner. (We have never tried Portobella). We just decided to bag Italian in Disney and eat at some of the better steakhouses and American fare restaurants. We would def go back to Il Mulino but we got the DDDP for the next trip and Are dining strictly at Disney restaurants.

I had horrible food at Mama Melrose's when we went in 2012. I have a restricted diet and while I don't make special requests (usually), it isn't that hard to move things around so I can eat right. I couldn't there.

Is this post only about table service? Because if I get within twenty feet of Studio Catering and Sunshine Seasons I get nervous. Will never eat at either of those places again.

I won't say I will NEVER eat there again, but had a bad experience at Nine Dragons this last trip.

We had a VERY inattentive server (which is almost unheard of at Nine Dragons, they usually dote on you). We sat without drink refills for over 30 minutes. When I reminded the server we STILL hadn't gotten refills she snapped "I know that, they will be here soon".

It took us another 30 minutes to get the bill. I honestly didn't want to talk to a manager because I didn't want the girl to lose her job, so I just left her a mediocre tip $4.00 on a 23.00 bill ( we only ordered hot and sour soups and jasmine tea).

The waitress ran me down outside and gave me my tip back, told me I needed it more than her. Oh heck to the no!! She messed with the wrong tourist. I waltz right back in that restaurant and asked for the manager and related the story. She immediately grabbed the waitress and demanded an explanation, the waitress started talking in Chinese. The manager covered the check and apologized profusely.

The whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth. I suppose I will go back, because I love the hot and sour soup, but that kind of service is unacceptable at a waffle house, much less a WDW restaurant.

Good for you for taking action ... although I wouldn't have left her $4 to begin with!

Along with some of the details of the bad food / service I wish people would mention if they talked to a manager and the action taken.

My "never again" is Chef Mickey's: Like others have said, unless you have a very early ADR it's a bit dirty and the food is underwhelming. Even though my kids are older now my DH is a big kid so I have to remind him every trip that we don't really like it there LOL

I'll also echo others with O'hana... poor / slow service, pace of the meal, etc Horrible burgers at Cosmic Rays. Totally not worth the money, time and calories. Tony's Town Square: Edible certainly but just bleh, again not worth the money, time or calories.

I haven't had a TS meal bad enough to send back (thankfully) but wouldn't hesitate... especially for the prices we pay at WDW!

ABC Commissary... Food just doesn't taste right. Also, I was disappointed with the food in Cinderella's castle.

Biergarten was terrible. Hated the food, and the service was really bad. I was hoping the show would save it, but they were having sound issues, so it was hard to hear the band clearly, and their sets were very short. Definitely the worst dining experience at Disney.

Concerned with all the bad reviews for Chef Mickey's!

This is my take on Chef Mickey's, and I can only speak for breakfast. Chef Mickey's is not a meal that is focused on the food. It is all about getting to meet the fab 5 all in one place with no line. That makes Chef Mickey very appealing, especially with small children, it is much easier for them to wait while eating rather than in line. The food is not terrible, but for the cost of the meal, it leaves a lot to be desired. Also the service is very rushed, the servers want to turn those expensive tables as quickly as possible. So, when considering Chef Mickey's, you have to ask yourself two questions....1. Do I want to meet the fab 5 in a seated, no standing in line environment? 2. Am I okay with paying quite a bit for average food to do so? I think too many people try to equate the cost of Chef Mickey's with other restaurants that do not offer character interaction, and you simply can't do that.

Completely agree with LovingDisney2012. We have done Chef Mickey's twice for dinner. The food is good but nothing amazing.
We eat here because of the characters.

We have three members of our party that need to eat gluten free and they do a fantastic job of feeding us. (As they do in all the Disney sit down restaurants)

It should be noted that we have had Free Dining both times so we paid nothing the first time and only the tip the second. That makes it much more appealing.

I will never again eat at the Turf Club at SS. A few years back my family and I stopped in around 4:00 for some appetizers and drinks. We expressed to the waitress that we were only interested in apps because we had reservations later the night at CG. Well, she took this as us being cheap and while we were trying to decide, she kept pointing out the "cheaper items" on the menu. It was very annoying and we felt like second class citizens. She rarely came back to the table, messed up on the check and forgot two of our four drinks. I know that's one CM but she ruined it for us.

The problem we have is that at most places its not terrible food, IF you were paying some sort of normal price. It is terrible for what is charged.

I wish they would let Five Guys Burgers take over anyplace that serves burgers in WDW. I have never had what I would call a horrible experience, but I have had better burgers at gas stations than what you get at counter service in WDW. Even McDonalds can manage to make a burger juicy... why do all the burgers at CS locations taste like they've been boiled to within an inch of their lives?

Marrakesh. It was many years ago, like an entire decade, but I'll never go back. I found the atmosphere to be rather boring. There were no belly dancers or music so I was surprised to read later that that's part of their thing. We went there for the food, and I don't remember it being very remarkable. Not bad, just kind of bland. Also, the staff had some issues. Not the friendliest that day. I seriously think the fact that we had a wheelchair in our party was annoying to them (they had to move a table, ). Weird vibes. The service was nothing great, think Denny's at 2 am. I left feeling a little duped (for lack of a better word). Rather expensive food and a not so great experience. Of course this was a looong time ago so who knows, maybe it's gotten better. I don't feel like spending the $$ to find out.

Funny incident at the QS in Morocco... there was this big fat cockroach running around in the eating area. I didn't think anything about it, because this is Florida and it was spring and the restaurant is open to the outside. I just stomped it. The man who looked like the manager smiled and raised his fists in the air and went "Hooray for Americans!" I about laughed my behind off.

Wanted to add, too... these are all very much 'your mileage may vary'. I had heard horrible things about Pinocchio's Village Haus before my last trip, but it happened to be nearby when we were hungry, so we ate there anyway, and I thought the pizza was great that day. Maybe I was so hungry that that made a difference, but either way, it certainly wasn't a bad experience.

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria we hated this place the service was bad had to hunt someone done to to get refills and the food was not what expect for the price you had to pay to eat. Will not be going back there I suggest trying it again this year for the trip and my whole family said no way they was eating there again.

My kids are all adults now but when I helped plan trips for two different friends/family members we had a CM Breakfast on the first day for one to meet the big cheese and his friends since they arrived late and they were staying on the monorail so it was easy to do an early breakfast then hit the MK. For the others, their flight arrived mid afternoon on a Sat of President's Day week (I tried to tell them NO but I helped them with a good touring plan and they did fine) and they had dinner at CM to kick off their trip. It's great for that. It's not fine dining but it's character driven.

I'm hoping I can get out of going to any sort of Princess Lunch the next time we visit. We did Akershus Royal Princess lunch and it was a total mad house. We had 5 adults and 5 kids with us and were shoved into a back table along a railing. Every time we went up to the buffet, a princess would come to our table, so we had to RUN over to take pics, then get all the kids seated again and eating, and then another Princess would come over and we would have to get everyone up again. I'm not sure any of us adults even got a chance to eat anything. But I do recall the food being pretty bad.

We returned from Disney late Sunday night. We ate at O'hana for breakfast, Prime Time for lunch, Mama Melrose for lunch, Liberty Tree for lunch and Trails End for breakfast. Our best meals were Liberty Tree, Prime Time and Trails End. Ohana was WAY WAY BEHIND took forever to be seated. We felt like the server was frazzled most of the time. The food was JUST OKAY this time. The last time we ate there was summer of 09 and it was MUCH BETTER. We also thought that the counter service in Mexico is not worth the price anymore. We have always enjoyed eating there but when you are spending 75 bucks for 4 people....it is NO LONGER going to be on our list. We enjoyed THE LAND Seasons counter service. We ate there a couple of times. We had our van this trip..so we ate out in town a few times. Disney's food continues to go downhill each year. We used to do more TS meals but few and far between now.

Mama Melrose - salt should not be the only spice in an Italian restaurant!

NEVER EVER again:

Raglan Road - waited for a table even with an ADR, then got stuck at a tiny table near the back exit, then went for 20 minutes without even having our drink orders taken! I am generally a pretty tolerant sort and sympathetic toward wait staff, but we couldn't even flag anyone down for a complaint, much less drinks. We walked out in disgust.

Sadly, Ohana I had high hopes for this breakfast. We went during the week of December 16th. It was packed and we waited for about 45 minutes to be seated. Once we were, it was loud and the characters kind of wandered aimlessly table to table. We finished eating and had to call over a cast member so we could have some autographs.

On top of this, my gift card that I used for tips was charged for the meal instead of our credits used. I didnt realize this until we had just stepped off the monorail at MK. So ... I took the monorail back to the restaurant to have it sorted.

Beaches & Cream, although I am sure not many will agree with me here, lol! I got sick with either food poisoning or some type of bug after eating there. Just can't go back after that, no matter how good everyone says it is!

My kids are all adults now but when I helped plan trips for two different friends/family members we had a CM Breakfast on the first day for one to meet the big cheese and his friends since they arrived late and they were staying on the monorail so it was easy to do an early breakfast then hit the MK. For the others, their flight arrived mid afternoon on a Sat of President's Day week (I tried to tell them NO but I helped them with a good touring plan and they did fine) and they had dinner at CM to kick off their trip. It's great for that. It's not fine dining but it's character driven.

My family and I are going to WDW in 2 wks for our 1st trip. Kids are 6 and 8 yrs old. I have a CM ADR for a late breakfast. Felt like it was a "must do". After reading tons of negative reviews in this thread am reconsidering. We are staying at Beach Club, so could do Cape May's breakfast....but I want it to be magical for my kids. Stick with CM??? Ugh, I don't know what to do!
