I Will NEVER Eat At _______ In WDW Again!!

Character Buffets. A good $100 easily for 2 adults and two kids to have sub par food sponsored by Kellogg's, while waiting for characters to come briskly to your table for a few pics. Eh, I guess I would rather eat from our resort and see characters at parks when we can.

That $100 could pay for so much other fun stuff!!

Honestly, I wouldn't do so many character meals (buffets) next time. I was not impressed.

1900 Park Fare dinner - MEH. I was expecting a lot more i.e. "the step sisters are hilarious" -- not really. It was fun for the kids to meet all the characters and the GF is very nice to see. The food was very blah, and a weird variety. The upside to the buffets is that the kids can eat whatever, so my 8 yr old ate his weight in sushi (not REAL sushi...veggie rolls, California rolls, spicy tuna rolls).

Chef Mickey - we did not eat here, however, I cancelled our res to do Tusker House lunch another day. Glad we did not do CM. It is in the middle of the Contemporary and seemed loud, annoying, and well just CHEAP. We were eating at the Contempo café QS right next to it.

I also have to add, though the kids enjoyed the Hollywood & Vine lunch with Doc McStuffins, Jake, Sophia, etc. and the food was decent... but HOLY MOLY it was a total MAD HOUSE. DO NOT go here if your kids do not like these characters. My impatient husband was seriously on the verge of running out screaming he was so annoyed.

Does the sushi selection at 1900 Park Fare buffet include only veggie rolls, California rolls, etc. or does it have more adventurous sushi??

Nope - what I listed is what they had. My son is adventurous sushi eater and wasn't impressed, but he was hungry and happy to not have to eat mac & cheese or nuggets AGAIN... :)

If you want sushi, go to Kona Café in Polynesian - we ordered sashimi, rolls, etc. Their dumplings were reallllllly good. We ate and then went down to their beach, caught the end of the movie and stayed to watch Wishes. Was a relaxing evening!

Coral Reef...the view is pretty amazing, but the food was gross and the server was very rude. He rolled his eyes any time we spoke and acted put out when we ordered cokes to drink.

Severs change...sure, but the menu really hasn't so I'll stay away.

I don't tend to put down many of the places to eat in Disney because lets be honest most of it is just meh to begin with other than the places offered at Epcot.

If there was one place i was truly disappointed with it would probably be Pizza Planet. I walked in hoping it would be like the movie but was met with epic fail all around. I knew the food wouldn't blow my mind but I didn't think it would taste like a personal pan Digorno pizza.

I haven't been, but I have no interest in Hoop Dee Doo Revue. They put on a show like this at the "cheapy" theme park by my hometown and it is SO not my thing. Also the food sounds like your typical picnic fare which is sort of dull. I know, though, that many love it there!

I think this thread is interesting. I'll admit it scares me a little for some of my choices, but as others have said - every place will be loved by some and hated by others.

I will preface this by saying I have never eaten at WDW, so I have no experience either way.

But for example, CM - Quite "popular" on this thread, which is not a good thing. But at the same time, I got an ADR 180 days out and now 4 1/2 months out my friend has not been able to find even one before 8:00 at night for her trip, so while it may well be awful - enough people still go. And my Disney crazy friend says it's her number one favorite, so who knows.

I personally hate buffets and while I'm home I just won't eat at one. We have a lot of them booked for this trip though b/c we got "free" dining so that we could experience a lot of character meals for my son. I'm sure that for the most part I won't be blown away by the food, but I'm hoping it's decent.

I think for all the new people (myself included), it's helpful to read this thread, but also just look at menus, decide if you are going for food or experience and go from there. The only buffet I have booked that I'm expecting the food to be (hopefully) decent is Boma. The rest I'm going for the character fun.

Most of my actual dining reservations other than character meals revolve around Epcot TS, so hopefully some of them are good!

Biergarten

The food was so bland! DBF & I hated the food & we aren't picky eaters by an means! Atmosphere was great, but gross!

Hollywood and Vine...thought the food was terrible, even my kids said it was bad and they don't want to go back there.

I'm so with you! I booked it last December for the CP package to see NPH. We were there for lunch & had an uncomfortable experience w/another couple sitting next to us. I also found the food to be bland & lukewarm which does not help at all. I do enjoy German food but the only thing I liked about it was the music & atmosphere.

I will add Cosmic Ray's to my list as well. I was hungry for a burger & tried it on my last trip. Never again.

By unanimous vote Chefs de France. We have been there twice and both times it was average at best. With so many great places to choose from we won't be back

Be Our Guest - Lunch. We had a fastpass and were so excited to get there. Food was Ok, just some fancy paintings on the walls and the West Wing room is dark. The rose was pretty. DH doesn't like horseradish and it was all over his roast beef sandwich. If you go, DON'T bring your stroller inside there no matter what any cast member tells you. They will just give you grief! Also, be aware that anyone in your room can charge here without a pin number. Just hit Pay Now and use your Magic Band. No pin needed :( Never going back there and I felt so sorry for the people who waited in line forever to get in :sad2:

WOW, reading all the post, has made me contemplate three of my ADR (T-rex, 50's and Ohana). Yes I know my experience might be different, but Im the not the type to pay for some thing and if its not worthy of my hard earned cash I will have it sent back, or just call my CC and have it canceled.

We enjoyed the food at T-Rex, but were seated under the Pterodactyl. It sounded just like a screaming baby! We've eaten there before and never heard it until this trip. If you go, let them know you don't want to be seated there. They'll know what you're talking about. The server we had didn't like it either.
We loved the food at Ohanas, but there was too much of it and our bill for 4 people was $175 including the Tables in Wonderland discount. Seemed a bit expensive for us, two adults, and 2 kids, but everything in WDW is expensive.

Don't let everyone get to you.
We went to T-rex. It was good; not anything overly amazing. Since DS LOVES LOVES LOVES Dinos and was given his all clear for cancer, we did a trip with all his faves. That was THE place. He had a blast. Yes it was noisy, but it was worth it.

I haven't done 50's since the 90's (ha) so I couldn't comment on that.

Since Lilo and Stitch are two of his other faves, we did Ohana for breakfast. The food was really good (even picky hubby liked it) and the character interaction was worth the price. We have pics of Stitch trying to steal DS waffles and then try to pour his juice; the characters really got into playing with the kids.

I would say go for it. :thumbsup2

Paridiso 37 (downtown DW). It was AWFUL, the service was terrible and they over charged us by $25. We had to put a call in to the manager to get that taken care of. Overall, just an awful experience.

We also probably won't return to Chef Mickeys. Once was enough for us. It was overpriced (of course) and not very clean. We also had to wait about 40 min's after our ADR time to be sat.

I couldn't agree more about Chef Mickey's. I'm glad to have had the experience and to get pictures with the fab five, but will probably never return. It was filthy! To make matters worse, they stuck us in a back corner next to a window with tons of spiders between the glass/screen...creepy and not what I want to see while eating breakfast!

Biergarten. They made many food dishes that my German grandma makes, but nothing tasted as good. Very bland and not what I expected. The dessert was delicious, but not worth the hefty price tag.
