I Will NEVER Eat At _______ In WDW Again!!

I said the last time we went there that I wouldn't go back to Crystal Palace... but just made our November reservations and booked it for our first night.

It's just too easy on the first day to go there. We couldn't get in to BOG until later in the week... and don't like Tony's... and didn't want to leave and head to a resort. So the buffet wins again.

I just dislike the noise - has to be one of the loudest places in the park - and while there's always a couple of decent food choices it's usually not overly impressive and then you get hit with the gratuity when you do all of the work aside from obtaining your beverages.

Should probably just counter service it and use our meal plan another day for lunch or combine it with another and eat a fancier place. Hmmm... back to the reservation system!

Kind of scare to see CM mentioned so much. That's where I booked our Thanksgiving meal bc our usual choice (50's) isn't available. Hopefully they'll do a great job with the turkey.

Surprised at the negatives for GGrill - we enjoyed the characters a lot and thought - for a character meal - it was one of the best.

1.) Chef Mickey's - golden corral is better - never again.
2.) Jiko - DW and I like African food and this place was overpriced and bland.
3.) San Angel Inn - would go back to escape the heat and get an app but the food there is awful.

Won't go back to the following:

Chef Mickey's for dinner - worst meal ever at WDW
Tusker House for any meal - food is just so-so, wait-staff is at a snails pace, as are the characters. Waited 50 minutes before the 1st character showed up. It was better when it was a counter service restaurant.
Tony's - bland food.
Cooke's of Dublin - too greasy
Cap'n Jack's - bad food
Rainforest Café - bad food & service
1900 for dinner - too small of buffet offerings, tables are really squeezed in there. They have an overflow room that you get to have people watch you eat as they walk by or let their kids run in to get pictures with the characters.
Pecos Bills - 2nd worst meal at WDW

I'm probably alone on this, but I absolutely will NEVER go to California Grill again.

The tables are so close together that I felt like I was sitting on the next tables' laps. It was way too loud and the food was terrible. DBF got a hockey puck of a filet and potatoes that I'm sure were instant. I asked for a pretty simple sushi roll that was botched horribly. Kona did it much better for a better price.

I know this place is supposed to be hip and modern or whatever, but I'm in my 20's and they don't have me fooled.

it was dinner.
my son has autism and his diet is extremely limited. he refuses all meat, and most fruit and veggies. He does eat fries though ( although refuses mashed, texture issue I guess, he's non verbal). That's why it pissed me off so bad, he wouldn't eat their kid offerings and they -had- something he'd eat, and they -gave- it to adults at the table, but refused it to him.

I think if your child has a limited diet, you should note the kid offerings before booking an ADR and not sit down and expect different items to be offered at the kid's prices. Kids can always order from the adult menu if they want something not on their own menu. We have done this multiple times without issue.

Def agree re OP Trex. Quantity over quality. Service bad. Over priced. Considering it's the same chain as Rain Forest Cafe which we really like they seem very incomparable in quality.

Chef Mickey's! Last time we were there, the place was filthy, food of all kinds all over the floors and buffet area. The food was bland and luke warm and quite frankly just gross overall.

We'll stick to other character meals from now on. It's sad because 10 years ago or so this was one of our favorites.

This was sad to hear considering this is one of my families favorite place to eat at. Hoping that it was just a bad day and things will be better when we come there in November/December!

Nothing has ever been horrible for us but we have crossed off Garden Grill and Beaches n Cream. GG could have been hotter but our waitress was one of the best we had. + we were almost too tired to eat. B&C was way overpriced for what we got. Turkey sandwich & a burger...we'll get QS in it's place next time.

I take back, one horrible thing we had was fries from the UK QS @ Epcot. There was hair in them....Ughhhhh. Disgusting.

For us it's Chefs de France. We were very underwhelmed by the food. Service was just ok. We won't ever eat at Casey's in MK. The only thing I'd get from there again is a bottle of water!

So glad I changed my Mama Melrose ressie last year to Via Napoli. Ended up being one of the better meals of our trip!

Mama Melrose was really the only bad experience my family has had. Bad service and the food was mediocre. But that was 2 or 3 years ago.

Ohana for dinner. First visit, seated late, half the food was pretty much thrown on the table before anyone even took a drink order. The meat was so overcooked it was tasteless. But with all the glowing reviews, we gave it another chance the following year (while we were on free dining!) We didn't wait too long for our table; told the server straight out we preferred a more leisurely paced meal, and she did oblige. But my 2 kids and I were surrounded by multiple large parties, and the servers kept running out of meat before they got to us. I finally had to ask for some to be brought to our table - and it was overcooked and dry yet again.

I must admit that we thoroughly enjoyed the sides and the dessert - but, it's way too expensive a meal if you don't enjoy the meats that are served. And I've reached the conclusion that they only serve meats 2 ways: well done or burnt.

I agree. The meats are horrible. Not worth the cost

I love this thread! I was on the fence with 2 of our adr's and now I am changing them due to so many terrible reviews. We also won't go back to Chef Mickeys dinner was terrible and pizza planet cute idea terrible pizza. Linda:)

Would never go back to chef Mickey ! Use to be one of our favorites ( we go every year for last 8 years) great characters and great fun but food not worth it ! Cold and just not good =(
Love. Garden grill but Fulton crab house is our favorite !!

my son has Aspergers and a VERY VERY picky eater. He calls himself a meatatarian :) he doesnt eat veggies either. Since he was only 8 when we went last year he had to eat off the kids menu... his MOST favorite meat is steak... it is usually not offered to children... but ya know what, I order steak when ever it is on the menu... and NEVER once has anyone ever said anything to me when it was MY SON who ate MY meal and I ate off the kids menu. And had it been me i would have gave my son MY fries and ate he wheat pasta.. :)

Also, 2 places we dined at did offer steak for adults bt not children, but when my son said he wanted steak for dinner, they brought him steak and charged us the Kids TS meal credit. That waiter and waitress got the biggest tips!!

Some places were more strict, but they did NOT say anything to me when i told them to give my son my steak dinner and I ate his childs dinner.

I havent had a bad experience at any restaurant in WDW, there were a few that I didnt like what I choose off the menu, AoA landscapes was one place... and I didnt think to take it back and say i didnt like it to get something else... i just ate the leftovers from my kids...:)

Cuppiecake,
You just brought tears to my eyes. You are a great mom :)

I can't see how anyone could have a problem with meal swapping/sharing.

Not a single place. We have eaten at a few places i will wait a few years to try again (coral reef nasty, cm ewww , Tony's gross). Restaurants change chefs and menus. When these do we will probably try them again. We also don't let service affect our decision as that's the servers fault. If its bad we will talk to the manager so they know.

We have been to Disney 3 times and each time we have never had a place in which we were disappointed. We have picky eaters in our group and no matter where we went we always found something they could enjoy. we are so anxious to go back in November/ December to enjoy all of the good food and experiences Disney has to offer.
