I went bagless for the first time

For the bag-less folk, what do you do about water & sunscreen?

We go in September and it's HOT HOT HOT. I'm going to bring my stroller again this year for the (hopefully) last time which is a great way to bring extras like water bottles, snacks, ponchos, frogg toggs, misters, etc for the crazy insane humidity of that time of year. I'd love to be bag-less / stroller-less but was wondering about water/sunscreen.

Thanks!

I'm a redhead with freckles and my sunscreen lasts all day for me. I throw Chapstick in my pocket for my lips and a little sunscreen stick for my nose. Disney hands out free water at the restaurants. We are good to go!

I keep my refillable water bottle in a neoprene sleeve that hooks to my belt loop. (I use a small wide mouth bottle and refill it from the soda fountains in the CS. Water and Ice are free and do not need a RFID chip to operate.) At CS without the soda fountain I just ask for a cup of ice water. Water for the soda machines is filtered and tastes fine.

I put on strong sunscreen first thing in the morning and then take a break mid day and reapply in the room. I also have a small pocket sized sunscreen stick that can fit in my pocket if needed but I've never needed to carry it. I almost always have been back in my room mid day.

They do make small refillable bottles of sunscreen that will clip to a belt loop as well.

I was in WDW the first week of June for our family reunion. It was AWESOME!

And this time--I went without any type of bag or backpack--and LOVED it!

It was so nice to skip the extra long lines at bag check and walk right in. I also did not have to store anything while riding or dining. It was so amazing!

U go girl!!:thumbsup2

I would love to go bagless because I worry so much about losing my pack and it's annoying to have to open and close it when you want something (esp. when using a draw string type). Bagless wouldn't really work for me though because as a 19 year old girl all of my pants either have no pockets, fake pockets, or super tiny pockets. And I'm not really willing to go cargo.

I love this feeling! I usually wear a small waist pack with a few essentials. Sometimes, in particular at Universal, I use shorts with cargo pockets and it is so freeing. I carry my i-phone and/or my little Canon camera in a velcro sealed pocket.

I would love to go bagless but having to carry an epi-pen and inhaler for allergies makes it nearly impossible. :sad2:

We got a glass of ice water at Aloha Isle and it tasted bad ! I had to spit it out because it tasted sort of like how a sewer smells :rolleyes2

I tried it once but the wife demanded she go with me! :duck:

:thumbsup2

I carry a camera bag (really a messenger shoulder bag) with extra batteries and usually one spare lens and can't really get away from that unless I'm going back into the parks at night.

I hate having to take a bag. I have always done everything possible to avoid bringing one. I'm very fair skinned so I have one of the travel size sunblocks on a buckle clip that goes on my shorts so I can reapply as needed and I can just refill it each night for the next day :).

For water I just ask for ice water at any CS or snack location. I usually ask for 2 even if I need one since I dehydrate easily.

I find WDW is easier bagless than other places since you just needed your KTTW card before (leave my wallet in the room), and I'm guessing will be even easier now with magic bands! I don't feel like I have overly stuffed pockets, usually just Chapstick, ID, and phone (keys in the room! Emptier pockets!) I have my sunblock and meds on a clip from my belt loop.

Thinking about going bagless this trip. Only things I carry are sunglasses ( on head), iphone, small wallet for ID, some cash, MB and lipstick and travel size sunscreen. All this can fit in pockets.. Water bottle I carry in, nurse for the first few hours and then dump it.

Only problem is is when I wear a sundress, a lot of outfits I have have no pockets :(.. Here I use a side bag very small.

Also People, stop it with the first aid stuff!! The nurses station has EVERYTHING.. bandaids, ( advil, tylenol, motrin, allergry) been there. You dont need to bring this.

I can see a lot of people bring huge backpacks for RD to close crowds and for those who are penny pinching ( bring own snacks, food, drinks, non-dining plan people). A whole day with a group a kids, the need for these things would arise.

We go early afternoon to close with an ADR in there... so no need to carry anything. Cardigans if its cold we tie around our waists.

I'm bag less. I wear a lanyard with a plastic case attached. It holds id, insurance cards, credit card, cash and my camera. I have a Nikon s01 ( i think that's right) it's smaller than my phone like a credit card. (Nearly). I love it.

Yeah, it's a lot easier for healthy people to go bagless than those of us with any kind of physical problem. I have to have a bag for medical supplies and snacks, plus things that aren't actually medicine but are still needed to keep a rickety body going.

The moral of the story: Enjoy your health and your baglessness while you have it! And don't automatically assume that those of us who can't join you are just idiots carrying around things we don;t need.

I know if you carry a backpack you need to go through the bag check line. What about if you wear a fanny pack? Do you still need to go through the bag check line?

Thanks!

Yes

It is freeing isn't it? I only take a small wallet and keys and a comb and tiny bottle of sunscreen. I hardly notice these in my pocket.

It has to be a soda fountain. Some of the small kiosks have a sink and they get water from there. (I've made that mistake).

I love not having a bag!! For a long day I normally have to take a little cross body bag, but for night time at MK for example just carry camera and Chapstick in pockets and DB has cash and tickets in wallet along with car keys.
Tend to do the same for universal and IOA mainly because we can't be dealing with the scrum for the stupid finger print lockers!!
