Does anyone know what 1) Was Disney able to fill most rooms with the Fairy Tale Package? 2) Were they able to achieve their goals of getting people traveling and staying again 3) Have the parks been significantly crowded because of this promotion? 4) What effects the promotion had on surrounding hotels and on Universal?

If this has been addressed before, I apologize. As soon as I heard about FTP, I told my co-worker about and she booked a trip within 2 hours. I missed the boat, but now we are considering a trip the last week of August. I think there is actually some availability.

I posted this on the theme park board because I am concerned about crowds, especially MK!!

While FTP was a popular promotion for booking stays at WDW, I don't think it was as successful as they had hoped it would be. I read some Orlando Sentinel article about park attendence still being down from last year's levels. Last year was pretty low on attendence. I think you will be ok. The crowd levels shouldn't be far off of norm. IMHO Mickey

While I would never disagree with anything mickeysaver has ever said, the Fairytale Vacation Package was darned popular and many resorts sold out for much of the time period during which it was offered. I'd expect to see some significant crowds, even if tourism is down in general.

We did a quick trip July 18-20 b/c our APs expired July 20. We thought the parks were crowded and were turned down for late checkout b/c the resort was full. I talked to a Florida resident on the train who also was turned down for late checkout. For her and for us, we always assume we'll be able to get it just by calling.

I don't think end of August will be as crowded, though, since most schools in the South will be back in session.
