I don't find it crazy. I see it as your husband wants to spend time with his mother on the holidays. Where does she live?

Not far from us at all just a overnight and I guess I will get to know her more during the overnight

I think you should look at this as an adult, mature thing to do. How long have you been married? Why have you only met her a few times? If there are issues between your husband and mother, you might want to discuss what to do if something comes up before it happens.

So, set some ground rules with your husband before you go. But if you've known her for 10 years, you should be able to handle one night.

I’ve been married twice and have not had a single MIL. From what I hear, I may have dodged a bullet.

Go with an open mind and follow the pp advice..set ground rules and make sure your husband sticks to them.

I'm a MIL to a wonderful DIL. We treat her like our own daughter. It does happen lol.

Our DS and DDIL have spent probably 15 or so nights here when they lived 5 hours away. Now, they're 15 minutes away and we see them every 2-3 weeks.

I know it’s sat but in laws decided not to make it a sleepover at the last minute and I had a great dinner with them

I am a MIL & have had 2 MILs. Love my DIL, we are best of friends, love MIL #2. MIL #1 was awesome, her son not so much, which is why I have MIL#2.

I have been with my husband for 28 years and I bet I have seen my stepmother-in-law ten or less times (father-in-law has visited a couple more times than her). When they come to town after not seeing us for 7 years it's a bit awkward for me, to say the least. So I can relate to you feeling strange about staying over at their house.
