Today I saw not not one but TWO Kites - huge birds of prey - soaring overhead. Good grief, they are massive!

Today I saw not not one but TWO Kites - huge birds of prey - soaring overhead. Good grief, they are massive!

Sometimes you can see Mississippi Kites flying at WDW. Their range says they don't go that far south in Florida, but they don't know that.

I had to google because I've never heard of a "kite." I guess they're a small raptor. We have lots of eagles and hawks around here, but no kites unless you're talking about the ones you make or buy at the store!

I thought the same. I thought they were the Mary Poppins-kites. And I know in Asia kite flying is a sport and they can be quite massive.

How we got to know NIC on Disboards, I can see him feeling priviliged by seeing these kinds of kites as well
