Okay yesterday I was able to book online in the morning and then when I tried at night I had an error message?? So I deleted my browsing history and my cookies but I still cannot get into online booking?? I have a reservation for March and 2 waiting lists, problem is my waiting lists(BLT and BWV) have views attach so I am TRYING to check online because I do not care what view I get. Any suggestions ?? I called MS on Thursday because I was having the same problem and they just had me do the deleting of browsing history and cookies and then it worked. Am I missing something I can do or do I call again?? :confused3 Thanks, Joan

first...

if i understand it correctly...the system is only online when the regular call in line is available...9-5 eastern...which makes sense since its in its infancy and there would be a disadvantage to those that don't do online booking due to limit hours of operation.

second, you have to have a view attached at boardwalk villas and bay lake tower...because points are based on the view there.

you gotta have something. unlike saratoga, old key west, beach, or wilderness lodge...where there are no views.

if you want a wait list...you have to pick a view...and you can only have 2 wait lists at a time...which means you can only wait list for 2 of the 6 potential categories at BLT and BW combined

Online booking is available outside of MS's normal hours as well. I have accessed it after midnight eastern time for example. I don't know if it is up 24 hours a day though. It's possible they are shutting it down for a few hours a night.

Hi, OP here, I STILL cannot get into online booking today?? ( I am using it to check availability for other than what my TWO waitlists are for. ) I was asking if there is anything else anyone has done to get in BESIDES delete cookies and browsing history?? (this is what I was told to do by MS when I called on Thursday) Thanks, Joan

thanks for the update....though i'm not so sure it should be available.

granted i do everything online...as do most people. but it might not be fair to have it up all the time.

its one thing for WDW reservations to be available 24/7...because anyone who wants to grab a room has to pay a price - namely thousands of dollars - to do so. so that is a sale and if you want to do it at 3 am...so be it.

dvc is not a cash transaction...every one is equal in that its paid for already...its just a bunch of people grabbing rooms without financial consideration.
does that mean the 7 month window now starts at 1-2:30 in the morning after the reservation system normally goes down to cycle?

hell, it did when i worked ops...or does it even cycle anymore?

does it mean that if i'm up at 12:01 (without cycle) or at some arbitrary point in the middle of the night...then i get first crack?
but a member whose had DVC for 10 years longer who doesn't night owl get shafted?

i never thought i'd say this...but i like the 9 am start time for all...its fair.

or does the 9 am time "start" the day?

or what if you want to use the "one time points" - as i did for the first time today - and you have to have member services do it...but you're trying to book a very crowded date on the 7 month window day. could somebody take the last room at boardwalk at 5 am but i have to wait till 9 to try?

still some questions to be asked/answered on this thing as it rolls out.

Reports from those who tested booking right at the 7-month window are that the online system displays a message that you cannot book before 8am eastern time. That would be a one-hour head start over calling MS. I don't know if anyone actually tested to see if this information is correct and you can indeed book a 7-month reservation at 8am or if the message was incorrect and you must wait until 9am.

Yesterday, I tried (just out of curiosity) to book reservation at the 11 month window at 7:50 am est. I got the message that you had to wait until 8 am est. I tried again at 8:05 am est, and made the reservation.

Note: I didn't beat anyone out of a reservation. What I booked is still available today.

Hi John! Thanks for the info. Good to know that 8am is correct.

Just wanted to add another confirmation that 8:00 a.m. EST is the correct time the online system will allow 11/7 month bookings. Yesterday I booked an 11 month window reservation at BLT. I tried before 8 a.m. and got the error message that I was not in the 11 month window yet and to try again at 8 EST. I booked my reservation at 8:01 a.m.

It is a good thing I did not wait to book, because I checked again out of curiosity before I shut off the computer at 8:30 a.m. to go to work. The room type I booked was already unavailable. (1 BR standard view)

While I have had no problem logging into the dvcmember site over the past few days, I still get the "....we are gradually increasing the percentage of Members able to make online reservations each day, with the goal of providing all Members access within 3 days."

There is no link on the right side of the Home page and I find no option to view availability online and certainly no option to actually make a reservation.

Maybe tomorrow. :(

I've found two ways to get to the online booking page. The most direct is to click on "'Book a Disney Vacation Club Resort Online" over on the right under "Plan My Vacation". It sounds like you don't have that link so here's another way to get there.

Do you have the new "Vacation Center" link as the first link under "My Membership" over on the right? If you do, click on that and when the next page loads, scroll down to the Waitlist section and click on the "begin a new search" link. That will also take you to the online booking page.

TJKraz has mentioned this and I was told the same thing, the system will only handle so many using it at the same time, which is why I really hope we don't have people asking others to look ahead into a window that they themselves can not even book yet.

As a member if you can't book until your 7 month window for what you are wanting asking someone to check before that time is an exercise in futility and possibly keeping out other members with a legitimate reason to book.

It does not have unlimited user capabilities, irregardless of what the Disney resort system can handle. They are not same.

But as to the time it is available, it's 24/7 (unless off line for maintenance, etc.) except for 11 month and 7 month windows on that first day which right now the message is 8am. I was told that it would be 9am same as member services so not sure why that changed. :confused3

I think the opening should be the same, to be fair.

No, I don't have either option. The right side of the Home page is completely empty.

Under "Mr Membership" the first drop down option is "Overview" followed by "Vacation Points", "Annual Dues", "Loans", "Sharing the Magic", etc. - just as always.

I do have the option of filling out an " Reservation Request Form" - but that is not exactly online booking and still has no option to see availability - but they will try to get back to me within 3 days! :)

Thanks for the suggestions though.

All is well. :)

This morning, the "'Book a Disney Vacation Club Resort Online" link is available and everything seems to be working just fine (except I did not try to make a reservation yet).

Thanks for the help! :)

I've had the link the entire time, but each time I click on the online booking I get a message about a server error and then "One or more errors has occurred, please re-enter your information...".

I have a message in to customer service, but the only response so far has been to clear cookies and history, which I've done.

I've tried it on Internet Explorer and Firefox, and on 3 different computers.

I know I can just call member services, but I'd like to try the online booking for our next vacation.

Anyone else still seeing similar problems?

I've tried on Chrome and Firefox and when I click the "Vacation Center" link as well as the "Book a Disney Vacation Club Resort Online" it takes me to a framed page that has no text and this URL "https://dvc.disney.go.com/booking/please-return" which I'm guessing means there should be a message to return later. t

Have only tried this between 5p and 8p Hawaiian standard time which should be 10p and 1a Eastern Standard Time so it should not be maintenance related.

Wanted to add a couple of days to an October reservation so I guess I'll be calling MS in the morning ...

Although I can understand why people may be upset about the one hour advantage for online booking at the 11 month mark, I don't understand why people want the system limited to the hours that member services keeps. Part of the appeal of online booking is that it is always available, and, for many like myself, the traditional phone-in hours are not the most convenient.
