My DH caught me in our closet yesterday trying on clothes for our trip. Now for me this seemed totally rational. We leave on Wednesday for our half-marathon weekend and since the weather has been up for awhile I figured it was time to start deciding.

So here is how this all went down. For the last 2 weeks I have been SLOWLY moving things into our walk-in closet and into my suitcase. And last night I wanted to pick out some shirts. So naturally I was trying them on... well in walked my DH who immediately said, "Seriously, you're trying on clothes for Mickey?"

I was kind of embarrassed but I mean really! We leave in 3 days, whats the big deal!?!?

Granted, my DH is definitely a last minute packer. He l will be packing on Tuesday night & into Wednesday morning!

I just want to the fun to start NOW!!!

Anyone else been "caught" getting ready for your Disney trip???

Hahaha I was totally busted today. I'm running half too! I finally pulled my suitcase out if the attic so logically next step is try on the clothes going in, right? Well DH is not going with me, I'm going with a girlfriend, and he walked in as I was trying on shirts and pretty much said the same thing, "are you seriously worried how you'll look for Mickey?" Well ya! LOL. ; )

LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! It makes me feel more normal, somehow! Since we are usually going down to Disney when it's very cold here, I DO need to try things on before I go!

Leaving in 3 weeks and started packing over the week-end because I am back to work tomorrow. My DS had to try on short sleeve shirts to see what still fit him from last summer.

It has become a ritual, and DH doesnt say anything anymore. Men dont understand. My DH can take 10 minutes the night before to pack.

It's a good thing I tried on some of my t shirts bc some were a little too tight for Mickey... :rolleyes1 Guess I'll started dieting upon our return home...

Three days?!?! More like three weeks for me! You are *so* right, and he is *so* wrong. My DH can get packed in 15 minutes - where's the fun in that? Have a great time!:cheer2:

I confess...........I do it too!! It's also cold here as we're usually getting ready for our annual January trip and I haven't worn any of the clothes I usually take for several months.....I need to make sure they still fit and look OK.....however, last year's trip was a bit different........since we wore our winter coats the entire time we were there. We're leaving Wednesday (1/5)... driving for the first time (that's a story for a different day) and as of right now weather from our arrival day (1/7) until we fly home on 1/11 only looks to be mid to high 60's.....not shorts and tank weather that's for sure.......so I don't think I'm gonna try anything on, but, just throw in some jeans/sweaters and maybe a pair of capris.

Sounds like us! We are driving this time too (From Minnesota and with 6 adults in the car). I think we are crazy, but...:confused3 We wore our winer coats the first week of December! I'm hoping the last week of January will be better. I've decided I'm packing one pair of jeans, one pair of capris, and a pair of less casual pants. I'm betting I wont need shorts anyway. I'm also making sure I take layers! I had to go buy thermal long sleeved T-shirts last month when we were there! I'm hoping by preparing for cold weather, that it will actually be hot and I'll have to buy shorts!:wizard::upsidedow

I'm usually packed by now...but haven't started yet because I have NO CLUE what to pack!!! I see the weather has been very nice recently! My vacation connection just said it's 64 degrees there right now! Wow! There's no way of knowing if it will stay that way all the way to the 22nd!! I guess I'll be packing on the 20th maybe. :confused3 It's easier to pack in the hots months apparently! This is our first visit in winter time!

Do you guys bring bathing suits in January? I mentioned to hubby that I wasn't going to pack them and he said I should.

Yes....we usually do bring bathing suits for January....sometimes we use them..sometimes not...last year all the pools looked like giant hot tubs.......steam just rolling from them...of course, last year during our first week of January daytime highs were low 40's and night time low's mid 20's!!!
Yikes...... However, that said we've been visiting for over 10 years the first week of January and we've been able to swim and hang out by the pools more so than not.

It takes me about 2 months of trying on/packing/purchasing new items to get it right for each well-planned trip. For the ones that are book-and-go I can pack in about an hour.

Enjoy your packing regimen. Anticipation is 1/2 the fun of the trip. At least you don't have posters complaining that you didn't post pics. :goodvibes

Well, Diane......I do hope you have good driving conditions in late January. For our trip this week......it looks like clear sailing down I 81 from PA into VA and then across to Richmond and down I 95......no snow or ice forecast at this point. We're driving down with our youngest son, Jake, in his vehicle. He's beginning the Disney College Program next Monday 1/10 and since he'll be there for 5 months wants to have his car there with him. We plan to arrive on Friday 1/7 and have a quick weekend trip with Jake before he needs to check-in and begin his training on Monday. Then, DH and I will fly home on 1/11. But, I'm planning to be at the meet on Tuesday, the 25th at OKW since I'm going back for a quick visit the end of the month before we begin our spring semester at my university on the 31st since once I'm back to work I'm not free again until spring break the end of March. See you the end of the month....

Good luck on the race

My wife tries on her clothes about 1 week before vacation all the time

I'm a procrastinator.....so a week before I'm getting my UPS box ready to ship.
Then usually like 2 days before....I start trying stuff on.....Ahem...and pray to god that they fit:headache:
Usually I'm running around the last day looking for that "perfect" something.

Last trip I was the most organized. I take the earliest flight so we leave the house around 5am. Aaaaargh...last trip I had EVERYTHING DONE.

All I had to do was wake up and drink my coffee....and stress about what I didnt' pack...LOL....

I finally realized....as long as I have my glasses and contacts....they have a thing in florida called....Stores...LOL...
Happy packing....I'm not leaving till April:snooty::goodvibes

My son just asked yesterday "when are we going to start packing?" We leave on Thursday.

The one time I did wait until the last minute to pack, I forgot my underwear and my good earrings to wear on the cruise. Bought new underwear in Orlando and got some cute fake pearl earrings at DTD.

DH and I leave on 1/5 and on Friday I got out all of our suitcases and packed all of what I could then ran to the mall to grab some new stuff and to replenish some of my bathroom essentials. I had DH do the same thing as his vacation clothes are completely different from his work clothes so it was easy to pack all of his stuff early. Now just one more (hopefully) load of laundry to do tomorrow to finish off all of DH's running clothes and we will be ready to get on our plane Wednesday morning.
