I wanted to sign up with connections today, and I can't!

Thought this might help someone out. I've been trying to order vouchers since Friday, and I hate giving my info out over the phone (plus, with Connections, the fewer humans who deal with your account the better  ).

After numerous unanswered e-mails, and phone conversations with morons, I started thinking about it, and took down my firewall. Sure enough, EVERY PAGE loaded quickly, and I could place my order with no problem.

Sooo... if you have a firewall, you may want to take it down long enugh to order, and then put it back up (those of you on office computers are probably out of luck).

I called back and told them about the problem, but I don't know if they understand the difference between a firewall and wallpaper. Oh well....

By George, I think you've got it!

Thank you, HookdonWDW! That makes perfect sense, and I'll have to check it out later.

BTW, I got an email from them (I guess I should feel really lucky!;) ), and here it is:

"Dear Connections Member,

Thank you for your interest in Connections. Unfortunately, we are unable to process your order for Walt Disney World over the Internet at this time.

To place your order, please call 1-800-339-0616 and speak with a Membership Services.
The call is toll-free and our representatives are available Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 11 PM
and on Saturday from 6 AM to 5 PM central time to assist you.

Thank you and have a nice day,
Connections NetRep"

So I guess for fun I should call back and ask the rep to read it to me!!! Every single page!!!

Actually, next time I call it will be to cancel my membership, but only after I have the vouchers that I ordered by phone last week in hand.

Thanks again, how satisfying when a mystery is solved.:)

That did the trick - you're a genuis. I would have never thought of that.

I finally received email back also, outlining what they offer, but not specifics.

Finally got a chance to test this at home! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

All I had to do is disable my Norton Internet Security icon on the task bar. That was so easy, never would ave thought of it.

Thanks again, so very much!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm glad that it worked for you too. :D :D Hopefully, this will be the end of our Connections problems!

I signed up for Connections thru mousesavers in July thinking I would cancel it in August. After ordering some dinner certificates and Disney vouchers and tickets, I decided to give them a try. Last week they sent me $60 in vouchers that are good in 3 month increments. They say they are rebate for household expenses. Today I received a thank you offering me a $50 savings bond or a $25 gift card to Home Depot, Target or Walmart. I have saved much and when you figure the original cost was 79.95, they are sure enticing me to stay a member. So far I have been refunded $26. I am real anxious to see how the $60 in vouchers works. The first is for $10 and I sent my gas bill as a monthly expense. The next two are $20 and the last is $10.
No problems yet!!!

I thought it was a good deal too if you used the cards and mel vouchers they offer several times. I did cx my membership but only because i joined mypoints after connections. Im going to rejoin thru mypoints--save $10 and get some points for a certificate there. I never had any probs when I ordered my meal vouchers and planet hollywood cert.

They didn't ring the doorbell or ask DD for a signature. I really don't know if I've ever had to sign for them at all...

If you are leaving on the 20th you have PLENTY of time to order and get vouchers.

May be because of where she lives. Where I live (suburban MD/northern VA), we have to sign for our stuff.

My dh is a UPS driver and there are some driver release area's.
Driver release meaning you dont have to sign for it. It depends on where you live.

Well, the vouchers arrived via UPS, second try delivery after I signed the slip allowing the driver to leave them the next day. So, I can relax and know I have 9 meals paid for. I think I'll wait until AFTER our trip to cancel my Connections membership, since it will be within the 30 days. I know many have saved with the full membership, but I just don't feel good about them. Too many problems  .

Glad everything worked out for you. I dropped my firewall and ordered my passes and some vouchers, so I'll be waiting for UPS to come around. Last week they were here in the morning around 10 so I hope it's the same again. Otherwise, I'll do the signing thing for the second try.

I haven't decided whether to keep or it not. Too many troubles, so it doesn't look good for them.
