My son's the same age. He's not in daycare but started leaving him at my gym's nursery instead of my Mom's so he can get used to the idea.
If you're boarding the Dream, the nursery staff are magnificent!!! My son loved Dipo, (the only male counselor in the nursery). Natasha is excellent also. She's at the front desk. She listened to our concerns, very attentive and accommodating. Kelly who I met briefly was also nice. We just got back Friday and I have to say, the mentioned staff above made our vacation exceptional.
I placed DS for an hour of nursery on the first evening. I told Natasha details about him...things he likes, dislikes, the fact that he's not in daycare and not used to anyone watching him but family members. I also told her that DH and I had a ressie for Remy the next evening and wanted to see how he would do. (If DS didn't handle it well during that evening I was going to move our ressie on a later date to give him more time to get used to it.) Natasha carefully listened and introduced DS to Dipo. Dipo immediately asked him to play and DS didn't even bother to say goodbye to us. When we picked him up he wanted to stay a bit more. DS loved it so much, he asked Dipo to come home with us.
Last night of our cruise, we stopped by the nursery to give Dipo a little thank you gratuity for such exceptional service but learned that he was going home for vacation. So I hope he'll be back when you sail.
As far as Remy goes, see if you can ask to be seated at David's table. He was our server and he was amazing!
Hope this helps. Have a great time!!!
