I Want to Sell Tee-Tee to Other People!!! - July 2013 TR *UPDATE 4/29 pg. 73*

My well honed lifeguarding skills know. :rolleyes1

Counting to 10 before I go in.... :)

All right everyone. I'll be updating over the weekend, but here's a glimpse of my next update. Look really really carefully. Can anyone spot what the heck is going on in this picture?

My next update will bring you more from Typhoon Lagoon and some lazy river craziness. ;) Have a good night my friends.

Someone bit it. Looks like a dad foot to me. :rolleyes1 Sharks in the lazy river? .... :stir:

Looks like someone forgot to teach Popadon how to use the tubes...

I'm finally back Danielle! I promise not to be so bad about commenting any more!

Hmmm, I'm thinking "Anybody can ride the tubes ON TOP!!!! Riding UNDER the tube is the real challenge."

1. I officially adore your family.

2. Your TRs make me laugh. A lot.

3. Did I mention I adore your family?

4. Man overboard, or, under tube, or - yeah, something like that.

My sons have been to both water parks, but I have not been to either, so I always enjoy seeing pictures.

I see an upside down tube and a random foot. Should be an interesting story. :)

Someone did indeed bite it....I'll admit to that.

No worries Shan! I've been away myself before, so I completely get it.

Oh snap! Man overboard!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Hahahahaha. That made me laugh so hard.

I know, I know....... OH Man...... I was there so I can't spill the beans :rotfl::rotfl:

No, you absolutely cannot. Because I'm about to.

Hmmm, I'm thinking "Anybody can ride the tubes ON TOP!!!! Riding UNDER the tube is the real challenge."

That is an amazing idea if I do say so myself. That's what we are absolutely doing the next time we go to a waterpark!

Awww, thanks! Honestly, we just like to have fun. It also helps that I have an extremely sarcastic side. :lmao:

You definitely should try to make a visit sometime. We have so much fun there.

Just got back last weekend so I'm way behind! Going to catch up!

Ali, welcome back! I've gotta head over to your TR, I can't wait to hear about the trip.

If you're not friends with me on Facebook (and sorry FB friends, you're going to see this again), I wanted to share a picture with you guys.

I did a side by side of myself about two years ago, against a picture of me from this trip in July. I did it to remind myself of how far I've come on my weight loss journey up to this point. Yes, the picture on the left IS ME. I was asked that at work actually. This was on my trip for the F&W festival in November of 2011.

I'm about halfway to my goal currently. Jeni and I have already agreed that we are running the Princess Half Marathon in February of 2015 (due to the 2014 races being full!), so that's my focus for the upcoming year. If anyone is interested in half-marathoning with me, let me know!

And if you'd like to be friends on Facebook and we're not, PM me and I'll find you. I love having DIS friends on Facebook.

I wanted to post that just as a reminder to myself. It's very easy to forget progress that's made, and I definitely don't want to forget how far I've come. Camille (Millie12591) is a huge inspiration to me too, and I wanted the opportunity to encourage anyone out there who might need it.

On with the TR!

So we had all survived our time in the wave pool. I did forget to mention that poor Jeni actually scrapped her knee on the floor of the pool when she was hit by a wave. I'm telling you, those wave pools produce a lot of casualties! She actually had the scrape on her knee for the rest of the trip.

Since we were thoroughly thrashed from the wave pool, we decided that we would head over to the lazy river. And be lazy.

A PSA about how I feel about lazy rivers. They all need swim up bars. And little cupholders in the tubes. Even at Disney.

PSA over.

The lazy river actually proved to be a little bit of a problem for us, because it was pretty busy at this point. Which meant that we were going to have to wait for tubes. Kinda proves difficult when you have 7 people total, and we really wanted to stick together. But at this point, we had to take the tubes as we got them. We were fortunate enough to get a double tube to stick the boys in. And Jeni and I grabbed tubes and were off.

Well. Jeni was semi on. And laughing about it. She was actually demanding that I hold on to her tube during this entire picture. Hence the face. Now I was in my tube, holding on to Jeni, AND taking pictures at the same times.

I gotz skillz.

Jason obviously found a tube pretty shortly after we did. Errant finger in picture alert!

We have the boys together in their tube. This is where the camera comes in handy. Because where else could you get pictures of your littles getting pelted with water?!

Joaquin clearly felt that I was too close to him, and the child, bless his heart, was trying to push my tube over. I was taking photos hoping that he was going to tip himself over. I'm evil.

Hey hey, check it out! Ommi caught up.

And since we clearly needed proof that I was there. I took a selfie.

Man, I REALLY wish I had a drink in my tube!

I have absolutely no idea where my Pop was at this point.

OHHHHHH.

Remember this picture?

Let me tell you that story.

Someone tried to get on a tube.

Someone tried to tip off a tube.

Someone decided that riding UNDER the tube was more beneficial.

Yup, it was Jeni, it wasn't Popadon. However, I did share with him that everyone was under the impression that he was the one that bit it off the tube.

I got this face.

He has NO IDEA why on earth you guys would think HE was the one that fell off the tube.

I told him that I take no responsibility with the image that I create for him on the DIS.

See?! He was alive and well on top of his tube. I can't say the same for Jeni.

Why am I so sad?

I had just gone under that.

Hahahaha! BAM, all up on Joaquin.

Editor's note? Jeni did not drown in the lazy river. Yay for surviving!

After that, we decided we had lazied up that river quite sufficiently. So we headed over to Gangplank Falls. Which is the family raft ride.

Well, I use the term family raft ride loosely, because no raft is able to hold OUR family....so we have to separate into two rafts. *sob*

The wait time was about 30 minutes. Ommi waited this out, so she headed back to our seating area to wait for us.

And while we waited in line?

We like to PRETEND that we're helping the kids get water so we can squirt them in the face with it.

We split up, Jeni, Gavin, and I in one raft, Jason, Poppy, and Joaquin in the other raft.

How did we feel about it? Well, we got wet!

After we did this, the boys decided that they wanted to do some slides before heading to have lunch. So, we headed over to the Storm Slides. We split up methodically on this particular slide. Jeni and I would go down two of the slides first, followed by the boys, and then followed by Jason and Poppy.

I took video of my slide ride down, but I'm a horrible videographer and I'm not going to subject you to that. Haha.

What did happen was that I hit the water and bam! Lost my sunglasses.

Gavin came down right after me. That boy. I tell you. I love him, but he is very slow going sometimes. He was trying to swim (he knows how to swim, he is simply semi-lazy about it), and could not for the life of him get out of the pool. And I wasn't allowed to go in to get him. So I'm like:

Gavin.

Gavin!

GAVIN!

Until the lifeguard had to get out there and grab him, so he didn't get himself pelted by a person going down the slide. Gavin is just a slow moving kind of child. So this applies to everything he does. Swimming included. So something that would take most kids like 30 seconds to do? Would take Gavin 1,408,375 seconds.

Joaquin seemed to be taking a while. He procrastinated a little bit at the top, and Dad gave him ample time to get down. But Dad almost came out of the slide right after him! Poor little kid.

Oh, and Dad and Jason hit the water? Bam! Lost their sunglasses.

For me, not so serious. They were $7 sunglasses (I am a clever water park goer). Jason, not so much. They were fairly expensive Oliver Peoples. Dad? Worst off. They are prescription.

We asked the CM about it, and he said they would have someone come out to check. However, they weren't sure how long it would be, so they told us to go to the front of the park to fill out a lost article form. Then they would be taken to the main Lost and Found (by MK).

Not ideal for Jason and Dad. Fine for me, as I pack several pairs of cheapies on every trip.

When we got back to Ommi, Joaquin and Gavin completely busted Poppy out (because we told them to!) to Ommi. She asked them what kind of punishment Poppy deserved. What did the littles dole out?

Yup. They told Ommi that Poppy deserved a spanking.

You know my family by now. She absolutely did spank him in public. :rotfl2:

Up next: Glass?!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: Poppy got spanked in public. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I love your family.

Great pictures in the Lazy River. You've got me very excited about doing a water park with the girls in May/June.

I hope all of the sunglasses were found.

And I said it on FB and I'll say it again...YOU ROCK! You look awesome.

Danielle, your weight loss is amazing! I saw the pic on FB but it's such a big difference I figured I'd just mention it again (since you did). You look great!

I really want to do the half marathon but I have no idea if I'll ever be able to get there. I run and run (as you see in Runkeeper) but I'm just so slow and I don't build a lot of mileage now that I'm back on the treadmill. I miss running outside. :( I'm faster outside and can run longer!

I am SHOCKED it was not Popadon that flipped that tube. I wouldn't have believed you without the pictures.

Those littles are too adorable. Too, too adorable. *sigh* You're so lucky to have family that wants to travel together! I would love it! I tried to get it together so I could take two of my nephews and niece a few years ago, but it fell apart due to one of their dads at the VERY end. I'm hoping to take them one at a time when they reach 18 (since they're not allowed to do anything that's not "fair", so I can't take them individually now).

I can't believe my trip is only single digits away as of midnight. I am too too excited to get some of my own Disney pictures; it's been over a year since I've been, it's hard to believe! Come see my PTR if you have time!

I've been pretty silent on this report but I have to break that silence to say Congrats on the transformation! :worship: I've gone through a similar one too and it's seeing results like the one's you've achieved that have kept me going! Keep training for that half marathon! You can do it! :thumbsup2

Loving the TR too!

Your weight loss is amazing. Congrats...I am still on my journey to where I want my weight to be. I have had some setbacks but I am back on track. Congrats to you again. :) I just new it was your dad under that raft. Great trip report, I was sooo in that lazy river with you guys.

You look great! Congrats on the persistence! I think the blonde hair suits you better, too.
I hate waiting for tubes, but even more, I hate getting pelted with that cold water from above! I always make my son get out of his tube to steer me away from it:thumbsup2 What are kids for, right?
Too bad for all the lost sunglasses! I hope they get found?
You do a great job of one-handed picture taking!

OK, thank you for mentioning this was posted on FB because I honestly was just going to check as I knew I saw it somewhere before. Weight loss is super tough and this is SO GREAT and you deserve a HUGE congtratulations! :cool1:

Of course I'm sure you'd be perfectly happy if the swim up bar only served non alcoholic beverages... right?

Bahahaha, ok, I would never have guessed that was Jeni UNDER the tube. I guess all the water did block her out pretty well though.

I, like you, stick to the cheap sunglasses variety. I'm notorious for losing sunglasses (3 in 2 days one trip) so it just makes financial sense. I sure hope you get back the expensive ones though. Hard to go cheap on prescription glasses.

He absolutely did get spanked in public. My Mom has no qualms about public punishment, even if you're an adult, so everyone needs to be warned. :lmao:

I'm glad you're doing a water park in May/June! We love them during the summer months. They're on our must do list for those trips now.

Thanks Kathy! I've definitely been trying very hard.

Danielle, your weight loss is amazing! I saw the pic on FB but it's such a big difference I figured I'd just mention it again (since you did). You look great!

Thanks hon! I honestly didn't realize it was such a big difference until I found the old picture, which is what made me want to do the side by side.

I really want to do the half marathon but I have no idea if I'll ever be able to get there. I run and run (as you see in Runkeeper) but I'm just so slow and I don't build a lot of mileage now that I'm back on the treadmill. I miss running outside. :( I'm faster outside and can run longer!

I'm super slow too, don't worry! The longest I've run is a 10k, and I think my per mile average was like 14 minutes. Honestly, that's my goal for the 1/2. I hate running on treadmills too, so I'm not getting much mileage either. But next year I'm going to run a 10k in May to get my qualifying time, register in July when it opens, and then I have no choice but to do it. That's how I'm looking at it. But if I know for a fact you could absolutely do it.

I am SHOCKED it was not Popadon that flipped that tube. I wouldn't have believed you without the pictures.

I think that's the general consensus on the boards. :rotfl:

Those littles are too adorable. Too, too adorable. *sigh* You're so lucky to have family that wants to travel together! I would love it! I'm hoping to take them one at a time when they reach 18 (since they're not allowed to do anything that's not "fair", so I can't take them individually now).

I am very lucky to have the family that I do. It also makes a huge difference that our entire family loves Disney. I have wanted to take my niece down to Disney by herself (my other brothers daughter), but haven't had the opportunity.

I can't believe my trip is only single digits away as of midnight. I am too too excited to get some of my own Disney pictures; it's been over a year since I've been, it's hard to believe! Come see my PTR if you have time!

I missed you had a PTR! I'm gonna hop over today. :good vibes AND SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!! :dance3:

I've been pretty silent on this report but I have to break that silence to say Congrats on the transformation! :worship: I've gone through a similar one too and it's seeing results like the one's you've achieved that have kept me going! Keep training for that half marathon! You can do it! :thumbsup2

Loving the TR too!

Thanks so much for coming out of lurkdom to say that! That's so nice of you. I think that for anyone who is going through a change, or has gone through a change, it makes such a huge difference to see other people that have gone through similar things. It keeps us motivated to keep it up and make our lifestyle permanent.
