"I Want To Go Back!!!"....a Sept 2010 PTR(upd 10/12-TR Started!)

Hello everyone! I wanted to come share some pics with all of you. This first set is from my cousin's bridal shower yesterday:

001-5.jpg

Here is me, my older sister (Stephanie), my cousin Kristyn (who is getting married) and her sister Heather. Kristyn and I are the same age and Heather is 2 years younger. She's getting married NEXT summer!

002-6.jpg

Here's my older sister, me, Kristyn, Heather, my little sister (Brianne) and my cousin Elisha (she's getting married in July on the beach). Lish (as we call her) is 3 years younger than me.

The only cousins missing from my mom's side are Emily and Tyler. They are 18 year old twins who are freshmen in college. Emily couldn't make it to the shower due to a review class. Don't worry, we'll take the typical "Cousins" picture at the weddings this summer.

When we were younger, Kristyn, Heather, Lish and myself were the best of friends (we still are). We would have sleepovers all the time and we got along really well (for the most part). We all loved Barbies and American Girl dolls. Our grandfather made all of us trunks, beds, nightstands and tables & chairs for our dolls. He was an amazing woodworker and he could duplicate everything from the AG catalogs. I still have everything he ever made me. I also feel so blessed that he was able to make Madison a trunk for her doll before he passed away.

On Friday, I went to the mall with a good friend from HS. I was on the hunt for a pair of denim shorts and I wanted to check out a new store. I love Aeropostale and they just opened a kids store called P.S. by Aero. It's for kids 7 and up and it's adorable! I bought Madison a shirt there AND I finally found a pair of shorts at ON:

004-6.jpg

Isn't that shirt so cute? That store had so many great things and they had some good sales. If you don't have a store near you, they do have a website.

As you all know, my last game was on April 24th. I have a few pics I'd like to share from after the game (we're not allowed to post pics of ourselves in uniform online). The blue dress I'm wearing is from Target and I posted a pic of it awhile back:

001-6.jpg

This is me and the other captain, Justina. She's such a sweetheart and she made me a lovely gift. It's a black frame that she decorated and in it is a collage of pics from the past few years. It's awesome! (Yes, I straighten my hair for game days. If I left it curly, it would be a hot mess by the end of the game)

002-7.jpg

This is me with my co-captain Melissa. She's been on the team for 6 years (got me beat by 1 season) and I love her to death. She's typically very quiet, but she's super funny too. She's getting married next May and I'm so excited!

Thanks for letting me share my pics! The shower yesterday was fun. We played some silly shower games and my cousin got a ton of gifts. It was a very tiring day though. We drove 2 hours to Syracuse, stayed at the shower for about 2 hours and then had to drive 2 hours back home. I was so sick of sitting!!!

Sorry I don't have any Disney news to share with all of you. Now that FD is out and I've bought my MNSSHP tickets, I don't know what to do!!! My days are pretty much planned out and I'm working on the clothing planning. :goodvibes

I probably didn't mention this earlier, but a few Sundays ago, Madison had tryouts for teams for dance. They're called figures. There are all different kinds; 3 hands, 2 hands, 4 hands (that doesn't mean there are 4 hands involved...it means there are 4 dancers, etc). We didn't hear anything for awhile and I was beginning to think she didn't make one. To my surprise, we got an email from her teacher on Friday and Madison is in a 3-hand reel! She'll be dancing with another little girl and a little boy. She was SO excited! So, add another dance class onto our already busy week.

Hey!! Wow you post a lot!! I get so busy during the end of the week that I'm not on so I miss a lot!! :sad2: Glad to hear Madison did so well at the dentist!! I finally went to mine and all the pain that I had just assumed was cavities is actually pain from my wisdom teeth!! So I'm going to need to get those done. Is it completely terribly that I'm thinking like next year because I have so much vacations and stuff planned this year that I can't take the time off work for something that is actually causing me bad pain? I might cave though!

Sounds like you are going to have a busy summer!! I'm jealous!! Mine will be busy...but mostly from work and then trying to squeeze in a few things around work. :sad2:

And hurry you got free dining!! I'm so jealous. It starts a few days after we leave. I just HAD to go with friends from school who can't even go then.

Hahaha....I do post a lot I guess. It is hard when you have a busy few days and miss a lot of the DIS. I'm subscribed to so many threads/PTRs that I can't keep them all straight!

Getting wisdom teeth out isn't fun. I got mine out the week before the Super Bowl which wasn't entirely bad until I got dry sockets. That didn't stop me from eating all the great food though. I was just eating carefully. You shouldn't wait too long to get those out. You would only need a few days off to recover.

This summer will be busy but that means my trip will be here sooner! :cool1: I'm beyond thrilled that we got FD. There were so many rumors swirling around that I didn't really know if it was going to happen. We were going no matter what, but saving $500 is fantastic. That stinks that FD beings a few days after you leave. :sad1:

great pics Meghan! You and your cousins/sister all look so similar! I have two cousins that I am close with and we used to do the same - sleep overs, barbies (we are old so we didn't have AG!)!

We have a PS Aero here at Mall of America and my DDs love that stuff! If you hit a sale, they have great prices on some stuff.

Thanks! My sisters definately look a lot alike. They look like my mom and I look like my dad. There are similarities, but sometime people don't think I'm their sister! It was really hard for me when we moved when I was in 8th grade. My cousin Kristyn and I went to the same middle school and shared a lot of the same friends. It was hard to leave them all behind.

Madison hasn't been into the PS store yet, but I know she'll love it. She loves the tank that I bought her. I think the tank was normally $16.50 but I got it for $12.99. Not too bad!

Great pics!! What fun it must be to have so many girl cousins around your age! I was always the oldest by far and no girl cousins anywhere near my age. You must be very close!! :goodvibes

Love the pics!

Congrats to Madison!!! Maybe adding more extracurricular activities will help keep you too busy to shop more before the trip. :lmao:

And you finally got your Free Dining!!!!! Hooray!!!!

YAY!!!! :yay: for FREE DINING!!!

So happy for you!!! :goodvibes

Man, I am really feeling the Disney Blues this week!! It is so hard to read about everybody's plans not knowing when I might be headed there myself. :sad2:

I'm feeling them too. BAD!!!! Our next trip is possibly next May, if that early. Hang in there!

What a busy weekend! I see a lot of family resemblance. I think you may look more like your cousins than your sisters. It could be skin color though.

Love the cute clothes. I wish we could see a pic of you in uniform. Is there an official photo of the whole team out there somewhere?

I see you got your Dis Ticker back!

Awww, I love showers!! I'm much older than all of my first cousins, so I was more the baby-sitter than a friend. My second cousins that are around my age always lived far away and had very diferent interests, so we never got close. It's so nice that you have so much family you're really good friends with!!
I just did a major closet overhaul and got rid of my only pair of denim shorts--I need to get a new pair!! How much were yours at ON? They're super cute-- I much prefer dark denim.
Congratulations to Madison about the dance team!! You must be very proud!

Whew, that was quite the update!

Looks like you had fun at the shower, it must be fun being so close with your cousins. I have 3 cousins who are 11, 13, and 15 years older than me, and they have always lived on the other side of the country. Suffice it to say, we're not very close!

The clothes you got at the mall are great. That's a really cute top for Madison!

Your hair straightens quite nicely! My hair straightened nicely once, and then never again. But for like, two days, I was living it up! Oh, and the dress looks great!

Congrats to Madison about her dance tryouts! You must be proud!

Thank you. I loved having cousins the same age as me. My sister is 7 years older than me, so she didn't have anyone to really hang out with growing up (just like Madison). She was always around the adults.

Love the pics!

Thank you! Madison is so excited about her first time in figures. I can't wait to see it! I really need to stop shopping now. I stopped in Aeropostale on Friday and I think I already own the whole store! There was nothing new for me to look at.

FD has made me the happiest person ever. The money we saved is a little bit more than what we paid for our airfare. Our entire trip is a little over $2000. That's pretty awesome!!!

It was quite the weekend. We have lots of driving to do this summer and I'm really not looking forward to it. However, I'm actually looking forward to the drive down to Maryland. I haven't taken a road trip through multiple states since I was in HS! I think Madison will enjoy looking for all the different license plates.

If you go to bandits.com, then click enter site, you'll be taken to the website. About 1/2 way down the homepage, you'll see Buffalo Bandettes (I'm all the way to the left front in the main picture). Click on that and it will take you to our Bio page. There is also a guy who takes pics of us and his website is buffaloprocheer.blogspot.com. There are game pics on his website (it's for the Buffalo Jills and Bandettes) and there should be a link to youtube that has some videos of our dances!

Yup, I went back to the Dis ticker. On the last one I made, my slider never showed up!

I love being close with my cousins. We are a bit more spread out now, (Kristyn is in Syracuse, Heather is in Utica, Lish is in Virginia) but we see each other at Christmas and other big family get togethers.

My shorts from ON were originally $19.50, but this weekend the whole store was 30% off. Last week, all shorts were $15. I'm sure they will be on sale again though.

I'm so proud of my little Maddie. She's going to have so much fun.

I had lots of pics! I love being close with my cousins. I always felt very lucky to have them.

Thanks! Hopefully, that will be my last shopping trip for awhile. I need to stop!!

I don't actually straighten my hair myself. I end up going to Bangs either the day before or the morning of a game. I try to get there right when they open (since they don't take appointments) and I get a shampoo, blow out and style. It's only about $20-25 and it's so worth it. I use to straighten it myself, but now I don't have the time or the patience! I love those dresses from Target! They are definately coming to WDW with me. So comfy!

Madison is so excited. Before going to a feis/try-out, I always tell her to do her best and it's ok if she's doesn't make a team/get a medal. I always tell her she has lots of time to make a team, get 1st place, etc.

Thanks for the heads up on the P.S. by Aero store. My girls would love it! :) You looked great this weekend. Cute hair and clothes! I'm glad you had such a nice time with your family at the shower.

No problem! It is a really cute store. Lots of colorful and girly clothes. They also had bathing suits, sunglasses, nail polish...I wish it was around when I was little!

Thank you! I had such a fun time with my aunts and cousins. My cousin Elisha has her bridal shower on May 29th, so I get to see everyone again real soon. Madison gets to go to that shower since she's the flower girl!

Wow, what a weekend! It's nice that you have cousins your age. My sister and I are 4 years apart, we have older cousins and much younger cousins but it's just us 2 in the middle. We were in my older cousin's wedding. She called us out of the blue and said she always wanted to have her family in her wedding. It was very strange and we had to travel to Atlanta but we made the best of it!

Congrat's to Madison!! How fun is that??!!

whew--you are going to be busy but congratulations to Madison for making the team!! Love the pictures you shared--TFS!! :goodvibes: Great shopping finds, as usual! How long does it take you to straighten your hair? I think mine can take a while, but probably nothing like yours.

I always felt bad for my sister because she didn't have anyone. She was the only child, granddaughter, niece, etc for 7 years. Then, I came along and my cousin was born 3 months after me.

Madison is so excited to start team practice on Wednesdays. I won't be able to peek in and watch, but I'll have her show me her steps when we get home.

Thanks! I'll be sure to pass along all the congrats from everyone. She'll love it. I love finding great deals on clothes, but the shopping madness needs to stop! I actually got some hours from ON this week, so I'll have something to occupy my time. I usually go shopping when I'm bored!

When I straighten my own hair, it can take about an hour or so. When I go to the salon, it usually only take 30 minutes! It always looks so much better when they do it anyways. Much more shiny and sleek.

Wow busy weekend. I'm so glad you'll be seeing lot of family this summer with all those wedding and stuff. Your summer is going to fly by and you'll be leaving for Disney in no time.
