I want a tattoo

My thoughts always are, "Why does this woman have such low self esteem? Was she abused? What would drive her to self mutilation?" :wave2:

That is quite the leap to make when seeing a woman with a tattoo. :scratchin What do you think when you see a man with a tattoo?

Geez, ZMSkirt is such the expert. I would love to know what the very first question is he or she asks someone they meet for the first time. "Do you have any tattoos?" Because it makes it so much easier to advise the person on their lack of self esteem.

Body piercing, including ears? Ooops, guess I fouled up there, too. As have most women in the US and across the world.

And on the subject of low self esteem and tattoos, there are many cultures which mark the passage into adulthood with tattoos. Those that have the markings are usually more self assured and proudly wear those marks.

ZMSkirt, thank you for you input on this thread. I hope none of your relatives ever gets a tattoo.

I think it is too cute! I have 2 tats, never regretted them. That is one of the best Pooh's I have seen!

I agree - the shading is phenomenal!

Very nice! :thumbsup2

How about a huge marching band with jets flying over head?

Curious - do any of your boys have tattoos? I think you only have male children, right?

Any tattoo'd kids?

That he is wrong, just like men without tattoos! ;) :)

Said much earlier that I'd get one if DH didn't think that they were trashy on women!

But no way they're going to look good on an 80 year old body...but then the 80 year old body doesn't look so hot, so why the heck not?

If the 80 year old that your with (or the 20 year old for that matter) thinks your body is still hot at 80, that's all that matters. :teeth:

That's a good point! Often times people who revel in their body image have low self esteem. They compensate with what they have and wish to draw the attention a tattoo gives them.

It's sad to hear a woman say, "My tattoo makes me more sexy."

Basically, all of the U.S. military leadership strongly discourages members of the military from tattooing, branding, or body piercing because of a number of factors which include health risks associated with these acts and the image they present worldwide and to the American population.

Are you making a sad attempt to quote me? If you are, please get it right. I said "I'm sexy with or without my tattoos. :thumbsup2

Birdie, you are arguing with a know it all. Don't waste your time.

Everyone is certainly entitled to have an opinion about tattoos, but what I choose to do does not affect you and what you choose to do does not affect me. Unless you choose to belittle me for my choices.

And that is the general you, not anyone specific.

S/he won't answer that question. They skirt around it and answer everything but that. I suspect that they are a she and her man left her for a woman with a ink, and now she hates everyone who has them. :wave2: :rolleyes1

Wow! I am amazed at how similar these are. We lost our son in July of 2003, and my DH got this one recently.

I agree she won't answer direct questions. I've been quietly following these posts and while we are all entitled to our opinions I don't understand why she is making such a effort to put down people who make a personal decision to get a tattoo. She is coming off sounding bitter and well, mean.

I don't think she is a troll, but I do think she is bored with her life....why else would you come to a message board and pick on people? :wave2:

I am a male tramp with all my facial piercings, and my tats.... and I love it!

Oh yeah, my best friend and my cousin who are both in the USMC just recently got tattoos, but you are right, they are cracking down on that, my friend and my cousin just wanted to disobey orders I guess!

I can't believe I even have time to write on a family message board about a magical place such as disney....with as depressed as I am I should just continue to wallow in low self esteem and leave this messageboard to the people who it is intended for...the one track minded who think life and the world should revolve around them and thier beliefs. How dare any of us not agree with everything they do!

BTW Nice tat OP, and I know more people that have tats then don't have them, and not a single 1 has ever wanted to get rid of thiers....including my grandpa and my father!

To the ignorant people that know nothing about tats, and say they will fade. That's why you go to a reputable artists. When it comes to tats you get what you pay for in both quality in ink and artistry!

I am so sorry for your loss. Your hubbys tattoo is beautiful.

Your tat is beautiful!!! How long did it take you to find the artist? Whoever it is did a great job.

Here is the tat that I may get. Still thinking, not ready quite yet. I love the design, wouldn't use the Harley wording(although DH and I do have a Harley!!). I posted about getting a tat several months ago but didn't get quite the "turnout" that you have gotten!!!!!

Sharon,

I never expected such controversy when I posted, just wanted some help finding what I really wanted. The artist that did mine and hubbys (and ds) is from a local shop here that years ago when dd wanted her belly button pierced (I'm sure I'll get some comments on that, lol) they were one of the places that had a clean bill with the health department and the BBB. I never even thought to go somewhere else, there place is nice, new and doesn't make you feel like you are going into a 'dark, dirty place', especially when some people make it seem that you are doing something sooo wrong by getting a tattoo or piercing.

Same thing of course. Gender does not matter. Why disfigure a healthy body with a tattoo? In addition, many companies (such as Disney) have policies that prohibit visible tattoos. Their reasoning is that tattoos are unprofessional and demonstrate very poor judgement. :wave2:

So I have a Tigger tat. I want something else and I'm not sure if I should get it as an addition to Tigger or get it somewhere else.

I was thinking of a lower back tribal, but I haven't had kids yet and I'll want an epidural. I was also thinking of something on my shoulder.

Obviously since I haven't been set on a design or area at all I'm not going to run out and do it. I'm just in the planning stages, and what better place to do it than a thread that is getting a lot of attention. :thumbsup2
