I absolutely hate them. Especially on women. Flame me if you must but I think of them as "tramp stamps".

I must be a tramp X2 than :lmao: :lmao:

OP.. I love your husbands tattoo. It is beautiful.

I would like another one but I am not sure of what yet.

So no one is turned off by the tattoos?

Thanks for all the wonderful support and the compliments. I really love my pooh and can't wait til summer when I can where a tank top and show it off (it is on my left shoulder, just past my bra strap) so it will peek out of a tank top.

It's by Hunter S. Thompson but I can't find it.

Its me :)

Its how I live my life or at least how I hope I live my life.

The pooh tatoo is really cute. While they may not be for me personally Im all for someone else getting them.

Loosing ones breasts to cancer is pretty disfiguring. I have seen one woman who got her chest tattooed over that area, she got a beautiful piece of ate that looks like a jeweled necklace. With her shirt off, you can't tell she ever had surgery.

I love how people who have no tattoos can tell people it's a "Permanent reminder of a temporary feeling" or "There are better ways to deal with depression" when they have no idea what a person who gets a memorial piece or a cover piece done. Until either of those posters walk in the same shoes, they should think before they type.

My tattoos were not done in haste, nor were they to deal with depression, nor were they memorials. I got them because I wanted them, and I like them. If you don't like tattoos, that is fine, but don't presume to know what is in my mind as to why I got them.

And to those who have had the laser to remove them, I think that is fine, too. People change and at least if you don't want a tattoo any longer, there is a way to remove them. My cosmetic surgeon removes gang tattoos for free as part of a special project with the city of Phoenix. It does wonders for those people who have turned their lives around and don't need those gang reminders.

Well said. :thumbsup2

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid
in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!'

Hunter S. Thompson

It should be noted that Thompson shot himself in the head at the age of 67 due to his depression as a result of multiple medical problems due to his abuse of licit and illicit drugs. :wave2:

Thanks for the link wvjovifan! I'm gonna send some pics over to my artist and see what he comes up with. He designed the one on my left ankle and did an amazing job. No one believes it's real, LOL.

pjstevens - love the tat! came out great. And your husbands gave me goosebumps and your story how sweet of him!

I currently have 2 one on each ankle. Neither were done in haste and both have special meanings for me. I'm in my late 40's and they are a reminder of how far I have come in this life, what I have been thru and what is still ahead. I'm not the least bit worried of what they will look like as I continue to mature with grace and dignity. Ok and maybe a little trampiness thrown in for good measure :teeth: I've earned it! LOL

pjstevens-I love your new Pooh tattoo. Oh and for what it's worth I've noticed that when women say that tattoos are trashy and gross on women, it's usually their husbands that look LONG and HARD at us when they see them. I look sexy with or without my tattoos, I know it and DH knows it and that's all that really matters :thumbsup2 enjoy it!!!! Negativity is soooo boring!

My thoughts always are, "Why does this woman have such low self esteem? Was she abused? What would drive her to self mutilation?" :wave2:
