I wanna go back and my DS does too, he told me so!Sept 13. New TR

Can u guys help me a little? I am supposed to make ADR tomorrow and I am still missing two credits and I am so going against the crowd calendar recommendations.
Its deluxe dining for 6 nights. I am thinking of doing le cellier for lunch while at epcot on Sunday the 16th to take care of those 2 credits. My mom suggested chef mickeys and trex but I am not sure how to make those work especially trex without running around too much.

9/12: Arrival day Epcot
D: garden grill
Illuminations tonight

9/13: HS
I know the villain bash is later today and it may not be worth anything but I figured since we are there we could check it out. My ds loves Jake and I want to do Hollywood and vine for breakfast and do tsm and Jedi training academy and leave early for a break although my son doesn’t take naps as it is and if I would let him he would stay up half the night but I think if we are coming back to the villain mix a little break may be worth it. Then I was planning on doing spirit of aloha at 5 before going back to the studios. I know people say it’s bad but we have deluxe dining and I feel like it is one of those things where you want to try it for yourself at least once. Should I ditch that and just get us into brown derby or another signature dining at a resort nearby? My son is 4 and I thought it might be too classy for my wild child. Is this too much for this day? Should I just forget the villain mix or consider getting park hoppers and going to another park in the morning.

9/14: AK day. I plan on letting us sleep in a bit.
Lunch at yak and yeti at 11am
Stay at animal kingdom until going over for Mickeys BBQ at 6:30

9/15: Epcot. Planning on future world and anything we missed in world showcase the first day
B: 1900 pf
L:
D: cape may cafe

9/16: Magic Kingdom day
B:
L: Crystal palace early lunch 11am. We tried breakfast last time and my mom wanted to try dinner or lunch here.
D: hddmr at 6 and back to MK for wishes

9/17: Magic kingdom in the morning. Breakfast at CRT and to do the pirates league. What would be a good time to leave for a break? Like noon or 1 I know it will take a while to go and come from AOA
Then back over to Mk for MNSSHP and dinner at BOG at 5pm

9/18: no park today. Departure day
Breakfast: Cape may cafe

I would go with Spirit of Aloha. I think the show will be entertaining for your Son. I have been considering it myself for the night that we arrive.

I think your reservations look really great. You must be so excited to make them!

Thank you. We usually don't do deluxe dining but i wanted to try lots of dinner shows and character meals for my DS birthday. I am really excited!!!:thumbsup2

If you're in Epcot, you could try Via Napoli or Crown and Rose or Chefs de France for lunch.

If you're heading towards MK, then maybe Ohana's for breakfast at the Poly; or Chef Mickey at Contemporary.

Love the ADRS. It all looks great.

And on another exciting note.....I got the idea from another diser when she said she took her child to the doctor and they measured his height. I thought hey! I got a tape measure. Let's just see how tall my 3 year old is and sure enough he was 42 inches!!!!! well tall enough for soarin, test track, the roller coaster train also known as big thunder mountain railroad. only a few more inches for expedition Everest. My child has gained a new obsession with roller coasters. He has found a way to get on you tube and he will watch these roller coasters all day if I let him, especially those from theme park review. He thinks he can ride these giant coasters. this is going to be a great 4th birthday!

Congratulations! What a lovely set of ADRs.

And how cool that your DS is of the right height to go on most of the coasters! It will be a fantastic trip for you all indeed. :thumbsup2

Your reservations sound awesome!!! I am starting to iron out my list but it is so hard to choose with so many options. Congrats on your son's height. It will be so nice that he can go on so many of the major rides!!

We are excited to try the places. we have only ever been to garden grill and cape may for dinner and those are the 2 that we love the most . We love crystal palace too but we only have been for breakfast and we are trying lunch this time.
I think planning ADR was hard this time around considering all the places we wanted to try.
Thank you! I am excited. no more child swap for us.

Been really busy. ADR are done and yesterday Disney store.com had 25 percent off Disney parks merchandise and I got some shirts and things. I got DS a pirate shirt to wear at the pirates league. I basically got some things that i knew i wanted from the world and got free shipping and a discount. I have already made a autograph book for devyn using old pics on shutterfly. There was a code for a free photo book and I only had to pay for shipping. I'm really hoping after this discount ends maybe some free dining will come along.

Hey!
My good friend and I are both going to DW Sept 21-29, 2013 with our kids. She is a widow, so a single mom and asked me to go along with her and her son with my daughter (our kids are friends as well).
My daughter, will be 4 years old in August and her son, in September. So our kids are the same age as your son, right? That's so cool we will be there at the same time.
We are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek in a 2bdrm 2bathroom timeshare. There is a whole thread on here called We love Wyndham Bonnet Creek and it's 350plus pages long. We thought about staying onsite but for various reasons, decided against. Mainly, we wanted space at the end of the day and the ability to put our kids down, shut the bedroom doors and have some adult time in the living room after. If we stay in a hotel room, no matter how nice, it's still a hotel room and we have to tip toe around or go to sleep when the kids do. This also gives us a kitchen and laundry ensuite. I don't intend to cook up gourmet meals on vacation but breakfast in the room on non character meal breakfast days, will save tonnes of time and money. I hate rushing out the door so we can feed the kids. I like to have my coffee or tea in my pjs, eat breakfast, get dressed, etc.,
We thought about the Disney Dining Plan but it's not for us. My daughter is a very light eater and tiny girl. I am not a big eater either and neither is my friend. Her son is a bigger eater but at 4, a kids meal is sufficient and even that, not always done. We also plan to go offsite a couple of times and unless you use up every single meal, snack and refill your mug everyday and price out the most expensive options, you lose money. I like flexibility and don't want to be tied to too many ADRs onsite. My gf was just at DW and said at every counter there was a huddle of adults going over their snack/meal tickets and calculating whether it was the best bet, how many left, use it now or later, spend out of pocket, blah blah. Her impersonation made me laugh! Now for a large family, like my friend with 5 kids, it is a good idea and she broke even and liked the convenience.
My plan for budgeting/dining, is to preload a Visa or Amex gift card and use that. I like that it keeps me cash free for the most part and gives me a budget to spend. We have booked 3 character meals and 2 table service so far and I may book one more just for park convenience, but that's it. My friend's son has major tree nut, seed and dairy allergies, so we can bring snacks in for him and I will for my daughter too. Just to give you an idea, my daughter who is over 3 and half years od (4 in August), weights 25lb. Her average intake in a day is breakfast - 1 eggo waffle or small bowl of cheerios with water or milk (she insists on water, go figure). Lunch is a small bowl of pasta, soup with crackers or grilled cheese (she never finishes). Dinner is some noodles, rice with chicken or salmon, one small slice pizza, etc., She will have as snacks some fruit during the day like an apple, oranges or melon and in afternoon, a granola bar, plain crackers, pretzels, etc., She has no interest in dessert so bribing her to eat has never worked and mealtimes were such a struggle and hard for me, that I learned to not worry and just give her healthy choices and let her choose what to eat and how much. I will make her a deal of how many more bites before she can get up sometimes if she's rarely eaten. Anyways, sorry, off topic. My point was, Disney Dining plan wasn't for us so another reason staying offsite is ok.
We are renting a car and since we are going off property a couple of times, and like flexibility and convenience, we would have anyways.

Now I have questions for you. We are doing the Halloween Party on Tuesday Sept 24th most likely provided it's not raining. I have made an itinerary based on research, crowd counters, and the Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld with Kids 2013 and websites. Yes, I am a planner and geek.
I am so happy Devyn enjoyed the party and it's worth going to. We want to bring costumes for the kids but my daughter doesn't want to dress Disney (she may change) and I'm ok with that. I imagine five thousand princesses anyways. However, does everyone dress Disney? Do adults dress up? Do you suggest it?

Have you gone in late September before? I am a little concerned about the weather.

Can you give me some tips and things I may not be thinking of based on your previous experiences at DW?

Thanks and I am so happy for you!

PS My daughter was a micropreemie born at 26 weeks 0 days. She was ventilated for 2 days (only thank God) and then on CPAP for 12 weeks. In NICU 14 weeks. We did speech therapy too and now she talks so much, I want her to be quiet sometimes! lol! I understand how you feel about the excitement and pride! In your profession, you understand what I'm talking about too. Most people have no idea what CPAP is. Aren't our kids miracles and blessings!

Here's to the best Disney trip ever!

Oh no! I didn't realize you had changed your dates until I read it again. You are there Sept 12-18 now. I thought you were there late September like us. Well, have a blast.
By the way, our kids are starting JK in September and we are pulling them for a week. It's only JK. I spoke the principal when I registered my daughter and it's not an issue. I understand your sister's decision though and know others like that too.

Fellow September trip here. Lots of people adults and children dress for the party. Not everyone dresses in Disney costumes and your daughter would be fine dressed in whatever costume she chose.

We have been going in September since 2008 and love that time of the year. We are blessed to live in a school district that has that week off so we do not have the school issue. It can be hot so be prepared but the extremely low crowds make it worth it.

Congrats on getting all your ADRs. It seems alot easier than it used to be. I think because of the changes they made to reservation system which no longer allows people to have multiple reservations for different restaurants at the same time and the requirement to put a credit card on some of your reservations.

It's awesome that your little man is tall enough for Soarin now:cool1:. I remember the first trip we took when our DS8 was finally tall enough for Soarin(he had just turned 4). It was just an amazing experience to ride my absolute favorite ride with him by my side!

I have been making ADRs this week and unlike those on DW property who can make all of theirs at once, I do it daily. However, I have had zero issues as well even with character meals. I have had to provide credit card info for each one. I agree that it's easier due to the penalties, prepaying for CRT in full and providing credit card info.
I do wonder if some people are on the fence about the Disney Dining Plan and will add it and make ADRs once it's announced? Historically, it's been announced in late April for August/September but I don't know if this affects anything? I did make sure I made any ADRs I wanted just in case they do announce free dining since then the restaurants will be full.

Your plan is actually very good. We like the dining plan not becasue we are trying to save money but because we prefer to have everything paid for before hand. However, I have taking several budget trips. I have stayed offsite, ate cereal for breakfast and took lunch into parks everyday. I m talking lunchables and sandwiches!. Real budget. I have an amex prepaid card that I am using like you for souviners although i spent quite a bit online. We like staying on disney property too but I will tell you my favorite all time trip as a kid was off site. I was like 13. My entire family went, we stayed in a 7 bedroom rental home and it was with all my cousins aunts and uncles and my grandma. That trip was by far the best so staying onsite or off site, I know you all will have a fabulous time!

:lmao: Well i guess i am a planner geek too! But who cares! we are still awesome!:lmao: Let her dress however she wants. Everyone deos not dress up. My family had regualr clothes And yes, adults definately dress up. I would recommend it if it is something you really want to do. I think I read that the party is the only time adults can dress like characters but they cannot pose as them. I think? I could be wrong but yes If you want to go ahead. I was considering dressing up this year myself but I have not decided yet.

Have you gone in late September before? I am a little concerned about the weather.

I have never gone late september but I went the very beginning of october and the weather was great. I also have been in august and while it was hot it was great. Partly becasue I am use to disney in summer heat crowds because that is the only time we ever went growing up

Can you give me some tips and things I may not be thinking of based on your previous experiences at DW?

You seem to have a better grip on things than me. However, remember you can get into MK with MNSSHP tickets at 4 pm and one thing i enjoyed with that is coming in and eating or enjoying the rides before doing the party activities. And stay till the end. I know many people leave with young kids but stay and let them sleep in the next day. Everyone travels differently. Try to find something that works for you and stick to it. Some families do breaks, We do not. We are the type to get up early and stay all day. My DS usually sleeps in the stroller but lately has not been taking naps.

Thanks and I am so happy for you!

That is amazing.
Thank the Lord for only 2 days!!!! It is so great tha your daughter is doing well. I could not imagine going through something like that, what you and other parents have to do. I actually went on bedrest when i was pregnant with my son at 19 weeks to prevent pre term labor. Our kids are truely a blessing!!! Im glad your daughter is healthy and well. :cheer2:
When my son first started speech therapy, I remember someone told me that exact same thing. That they could not get thier son to talk but now they cannot get them quiet. My DS is doing very well and sometimes he talks alot too!!

O no! It's ok! I guess i should change that on the 1st page :worried:
I think that it is ok, especially when our kids are this young but when my DS gets older maybe like in middle school, I probably wont take him out that much.

I agree! People use to make multiple reservations at the same time before they decide but that is no longer an option.

I am soo excited! My DS wants to ride a roller coaster so bad! I am so happy we can finally ride everything together without a baby swap. well almost everything!
