I wanna go back and my DS does too, he told me so!Sept 13. New TR

I finally made it to your PTR! :cheer2::cheer2:

I have been debating on resorts as well. I was originally going to do POR with my brother and his fiance but then....dun...dun...dun I found out that April (my DD8) needs braces and we are talking pallet shaping and the whole meal deal so to save a little $$ I gave her the choice between AllStar Sports (my fave resort), All Star Music, or All Star Movies. Well Movies are out as she says she doesn't like the decorations (theming) so that leaves us with Music or Sports!

:cool1: Yah! Im so glad you made it J. My goodness i know braces are alot but at least she is getting them now. I did not get mine until I was 17 years old! I have had some nice stays at the values. Whichever you choose, i know you will still have a great time!!!!

I found your PTR!!!

I love the pics from Halloween. Looks like Devyn was having a blast!! Paxton is way into trains too. I tried to find him a good Thomas the Tank Engine costume but they were basically just an apron with Thomas' face. The train conductor was a great idea! I didn't think of that. Maybe next year. :goodvibes

Yah! Glad you are here!
:thumbsup2

Thank you! He did have a great time and he stills ask for candy all the time. what is with the babies and trains? They all love them.
I actually did not think about a train conductor until I ran accross it at this consignment sale. He had the choice between that and scooby and he said this one so that's what we got.:goodvibes

Well, I have been so busy lately I havent had any disney planning done. I have some really good news...I GOT A JOB!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:banana::worship::cool1:
Not just a job but a career. My hard work has paid off. I have a full time position as a RESPIRATORY THERAPIST!!!!!!!!!!!!
After almost a year since graduation. I am so happy but extremely nervous becaUSe the job is in south georgia. So me and my DS are moving 5 hours away:eek: We are leaving basically our entire family but we have a few people in savannah about an hour away.
O and get this, we are only 3 hours away froM disney world instead of 9! YAH!!
That just means we no longer need to fly. Iam not sure how vacation time works yet but we can earn it starting the first day!!! So my trip will hopefully be still on it may be a bit shorter and we may bumb it up because the school system down there is not on the same calender and they dont get a week off every 6 weeks like up here.

Can you tell how happy i am?
CAUSE I AM!!!!!

im just realllly nervous for us to live on our own so far away. I know it will be hard because i am so concerned about devyns safety? There was a news story up here about a felon who was working for a daycare picking up kids from school in a blue car. Seriously! stuff in the news like that just makes me so nervous!!!!!
Yet i am so grateful for this opportunity for someone to offer me the opportunity to work as a new grad with no experience.

Im so sorry this is long!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for you.

That's fabulous news that you've not only got a job; but you're employed in the field that will allow you to have a career. So pleased for you.

I would also freak if there was a story about a felon working for a daycare picking up kids. I hope that Devyn stays safe.

Good luck with the move. It'll be fine!

AWW! thank you!

I am so excted to stop working my job and start a career! It is exciting and i know it will be a challange being a single parent away from family and my normal support system but i am going to do my best!

You are right? That was crazy! I hope that devyn will be ok and i am glad he is getting to the age where he can talk and tell me if someone does something to him.

Well dis. Life has gotten so busy! I moved started my career and I have been faced with whole new challanges. Being on my own with devyn so far away from our family has been a little hard on me but I am convinced to stick this out and make us a life here. I just have no family or friends down here . On a good note I really like my job and the people I work with. Being new to the job and the field they have been so helpful and I am so grateful. On another sad note my car just could not take it anymore and I had to get a new one.

That is so bitter sweet. To find a job/career that you are happy with, and great co-workers is fantastic. But to have devyn so far away and so little family support is not good. Hang in there!

Sorry about your car...did you get a new one?

And yes, if you live 3 hours away from the mouse, an AP is definitely worth it! :goodvibes

Thank you! Yes i did have to get a new one, which i was not planning on getting a car note anytime soon. It is not my dream car but it is what i could pay for at the moment but it is a very nice nissan sentra.
I do feel bad about my job and I miss everyone but I know I need time to adjust, maybe longer than others. I think that after 2 or 3 years i may go back home depending on how thigns turn out.

life is so busy, i havent been able to post on the dis and only read when im on break at work mostly. Alot has happened. Well not really except I almost booked but my mom came down and we all spent a weekend at the dolphin resort. I live 3 hours away and I have starwood points so I used it to stay there and I am really missing home. Things have been hard here but I am doing my best. On that note, my mom and I were resort hopping that weekend and went to wilderness lodge and realized that we like it there and we got suckered into a DVC kiosk. They offered gift card for the presentation and my mom and i were seriously thinking about becoming DVC members. I mean we will come every year, even if i have to come myself so in the long run it would be worth it. I was going to use the money for the trip to use as a down payment. However, I am just starting my career and Someday maybe not soon but one day i would love to be able to buy a home for devyn and I. It may not be for another 4 years but I ant to do it and it is a big commitment. My mom thought that maybe we could go in together and do it. It would be great but my unlike me my parents home is paid for so I am really considering going in with my mom but I am scared that it would be that much harder when the time comes when i want a home. I just do not know when that will happen. In the meantime i have a list of ADR i want to get! We will be getting the DxDP so we can try some new places and a few signatures. This is what i am thinking?
Dinner

HDDMR : I have heard good things and we have never been
MBBQ: heard mixed reviews but the only way to be sure is to try it yourself
CAPE MAY: we love this play and are ready to go back
BE OUR GUEST: Figured we could try it
CALI GRILL: maybe we can see the fireworks
SPIRIT OF ALOHA: heard some not good things but if we are on deluxe i figured we could give it a try to say we have seen it

LUNCH

YAK AND YETI: I have seen some great reviews

BREAKFAST

CRT: It is the castle and i heard the new breakfast menu has some nice things on it
1900 PF: I really want to meet the mad hatter
CAPE MAY: We love dinner and I have heard nothing but good things about breakfast
HOLLYWOOD AND VINE: Devyn loves Jake, little Einsteins, and all those playhouse characters
CRYSTAL PALACE: went here for the 1st time on the last trip and lo
ved it!

YAY for a visit to the World.

I've toyed with getting DVC. It seems like an large outlay of money; but if you are going to be going every year, it will probably pay for itself. We decided not to because we live so far away. But somehow, we've managed to make it back to a Disney site very regularly!! It's one of the things that I would probably decide differently if I had my time again.

Are you still considering it? i'd be super tempted if my parents shared it in with me. With the age of your son, it may be something that suits your lifestyle.

Seems like a lovely set of restaurants to have ADRs in. :thumbsup2

Following along. We are also from Georgia and living in an area with that wonderful September break in the school calendar so we have a September trip planned along with our May/June trip.

When I caught up on your updates it reminded me so much of my DD21. She is also away from home living not far from you and struggles a bit with homesickness. She loves Disney. She is going to college to be a physical therapist so she will work in the medical industry also.

Hello there! I get so excited to meet some other Georgians around here! It turns out that our fall break has been pushed back until october but we are still going in september per my mom however, we have had to cut the trip down to 6 days :sad1: but that is better than no days so yah!:woohoo:

Everyone tells me I will get use to it and while I have i still miss home. I lived in my home town m entire life and all my friends are there. These are friends I have had since elementary school so it is wired. I Know how she must be feeling I was the same way when I went to college at valdosta state I came back home after my sophomore year to go to school.

My plans keep getting the run around. I found out that the fall break this year has been pushed back until October. Which kind of sucks but has me considering if we should push back to October. With no fall break we have September 12-18th as our dates and I hope that this will be the last change. My mom has informed me that she will be coming along and my sister is against taking my nephew out of school so he will miss out. I respect her decision but he will only be in kindergarten and I am not sure what the big deal is. I would wait until fall break but my mom cannot take off days before or after a holiday break and I cannot miss one full week of work I have to split it over a weekend. Im so sad because the nephew loves disney and ask me to go all the time. The way things have been changing maybe I can come up with another alternative. It is time to book and get on the planning wagon since the park hours are out.

My mom gave me the go ahead to include here in our trip. We officially booked! Happy dance!
We are going September 12 -18. I am so excited. And we can make ADR on march 12th which is in 5 days!!!! It is coming fast! And after talking with my mom and realizing that my child does not take any naps or like maybe once a month he will take one, we decided we would not spend the extra money for a room at the moderate where we will only use to sleep and an occasional swim so we decided to go ahead and book

I am a little nervous about this because I mean I have a boy and it’s a mermaid! But I think it will be fine. I really wanted to try port Orleans or Coronado springs but besides it being a mermaid, I think he will love the theme at the resort. I wish Disney had more things for boys. In the future, i think we will look into renting DVC points. We did that last time and fell in love with AKV and it saved us a bit of money to. I would love to buy into DVC but I am just starting out in my career and I want to buy a home in a few years. Anyway enough of my personal goals. Time to see about dining!

:cool1: :cool1: You're booked!!! How cool.

But we're not going to be there at the same time. :sad1:

Joining in!! My son is pretty close in age. He will turn 4 in June. I enjoyed reading because it sounds like they have similar interests. We will be traveling in November, so I look forward to hearing about your plans.

Congratulations on getting everything booked:cool1: I agree with you, Disney needs more for boys. We usually rent DVC points for all our trips and it is definately the way to go. Saves so much money and allows you to stay in some awesome deluxe resorts for about the same price as a moderate.

Welcome! I love meeting other parents especially around my DS age. I am having a little trouble with my planning at the moment but I am ready to share.

I agree! We had an amazing time that trip and saved a ton even after purchasing the DDp. If I was more sure of my plans at 11 months out I totally would have went that way.
