SIL's bf was fixing my DD's I-touch (screen was cracked). He replaced the screen and then the I-touch wouldn't "unlock"

Any Idea what we can do to make it work?

Sounds like either one of the connections is not tight or it may be the replacement screen is bad.

Not much help, but my dd dropped her new ipod touch RIGHT after Christmas and shattered the screen. I took it in to the Apple store and was told they dont replace ipod touch screens. That doing so damages the unit, if the unit wasnt already damaged internally in the fall. I had to buy a new one! :sad1:
It cost $99. The 1 year warranty did not cover dropping it of course.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but itouch screens are easily replaced and only cost about thirty bucks (more for 4th gen units, but still easy).

Also, there isn't really anything inside that can be damaged in a fall as these units have no moving parts. Unless you run it over with a car or otherwise seriously mangle it, there should be no terrible damage.

The OP's unit probably just has a connector that isn't completely seated. I'd pop it back apart and check them.

Thank you, maybe it is the connection is not tight. The replacement screen is brand new from Amazon.

Sometimes the screens they ship out are just bad, they are not "official" apple screens just aftermarket ones and they are not made as well as apples. Happened to a friend of mine when they replaced an iphone screen.
