I Told You Driving Was Bad For Your Health! *2/2* NEW TRIP REPORT LINK P102

I don't think the Seasonal AP includes parking...was reading a TR from a FL resident that talked about her having to pay for parking until she upgraded to a regular AP.

Yea!! :cool1: I'm glad your wait list came through!. Now we will be just around the lake from you at BCV. We have a studio for our entire trip but we waitlisted a 1BR for the whole trip and another wait list for a 1BR for half the trip. Neither have made it through yet. I have NEVER had a wait list come through so we shall see. Regardless, we will be at BCV for F&W!

:cool1: Woo hoo for BCV. Weren't you originally at BWV? I'm so confused. A one BR would be heaven, that's for sure.

I am very excited all 5 nights came through. I really LOVE the Boardwalk and would be very happy staying there every trip. I'm very excited!

When is your seminar? We have the Italy Regional Luncheon on 10/21 and the Cheese Seminar on 10/26 (early enough to work it off before we meet you and Denny at Rose & Crown that night!). We tried for the French regional luncheon but it was sold out already and I called at the earliest possible time!

We have the mixology seminar on 10/26. It's at 6pm and I know the seminars only last about an hour, so I figured we would head right from there to our dinner. Very excited! :yay:

I'm late on the comments so hope I am not repeating too many things that others have posted!!!

You can never be too late!

Good luck this year to Nick!!!

Thanks. First week down. He says he likes it so far, although we have to being him a bike. He has a 15 minute walk from his dorm to class and on M-W-F he has an 8am class and then no class until 1:30. It will make it easier for him to go back and forth two or three times a day.

So sorry to hear about Max. Hope that sweet kitty is feeling better.

Aww - thanks. He is. Not sure what happened to him this last time, but he is back to normal. Well, as normal as a diabetic cat can be.

Congrats on your waitlists coming through! Sounds like a great trip!

I am SO excited for this trip. It's going to be great! Can't wait. :thumbsup2

Pretty plane picture with the clouds, but I'm sorry that you had to be in the air so long that you were able to take it!

When I mentally prepare myself for 2 hours its hard to tack on the extra hour. It's ok - I survived and it was worth it!

:scared1: on the leaking roof at the airport!

Isn't that crazy? I was surprised the roof was leaking that much. It was crazy.

Mark and I owned a power blue Camry!

I loved that Camry. It was really nice. I am going to look at one for my next car. It had a great ride and was nice and roomy and set up well inside.

:woohoo: on the 2BR upgrade! Looks like a decent resort from your pictures the next morning.

It was a really nice place for what we paid for it and we loved having the extra room. At least I did. Denny probably could care less. :rotfl2: I felt so spoiled having my own changing room and bathroom!

Those are honestly the wettest arch pictures I have ever seen!!!

It was POURING! Crazy rain. In fact, I was starting to second guess our plans to go into Epcot. But I went with the premise that rain always stops in Florida.

Great ponchos!!!

Thanks! They definitely came in handy!

I love that you have a favorite resort parking lot!

:rotfl: Is that weird? I also like parking at the Contemporary, but there's a story to go along with that.

MMMorocco!

Seriously! Morocco is MM good!

Me, too!

And me, too, again! Fortunately, I am about 5 minutes from the border of a state that does!

Well, you've got it made. So which state serves in the grocery store? New Hampshire? I haven't been to NE in years so I am completely drawing a blank.

At least it isn't a witch's hat!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: I was thinking the same thing.

Denny hasn't seen NFL yet, has he? That would be a place a Disney expert could get lost.

.

Nope. Not yet. But soon!

Parking not included on an AP???

What?

:confused3

That makes no sense at all, since ALL AP holders get free parking.

I know, right? It makes NO sense. All AP's include parking and this was a PAP. Why would there be different PAP's? :confused3

Sounds like someone was trying to make you miss the opening ceremony!

And it wasn't even Denny. :rotfl2: We almost had it. Almost! :sad2:

Glad to see you were able to catch Illuminations on your first night there and make it to park opening at MK.

Me too! No complaints. This trip went really well for us. We had a great time.

I don't think the Seasonal AP includes parking...was reading a TR from a FL resident that talked about her having to pay for parking until she upgraded to a regular AP.

Jill in CO

No parking with the Seasonal AP makes sense, but a no parking option on the PAP? That makes NO sense whatsoever. Why even have that option? :confused3

It Was "Just OK"

When I left off last Denny and I were starting our first full Disney day. We had made it to the MK by 9 am but missed getting through the gate in time for the opening show. Note to self: No matter where you stay in the future (unless its a monorail resort), leave by 7:30 am if you want to see the opening show.

*sigh* Well, no biggie.

Our usual plan of attack for WDW is to head directly to Space Mountain, but I told Denny I wanted to take him to the new Little Mermaid ride. He was agreeable.

Once we made it to the castle I sort of had a brain block on which direction to head next.

I was enjoying being away from the crowds in a park that had just opened. It was a beautiful day and not overly hot, yet!

If you couldn't already tell, we were heading towards Liberty Square

I love this side view of the castle. I think I finally got a half way decent picture of it from this angle.

I guess your really don't need two of the same shots but whatever

I really enjoy this area of the park first thing in the morning. It's empty!

Of course, I'm not a fan of fences and faux sidings.

When we got back here I realized that I did not go the most direct route to LM. I said out loud "what was I thinking?" Seriously. I think I was just so happy to be there that I didn't pay attention. So even though technically I did not get lost, I was shocked that I went as far out of my way as I did. *sigh*

My dismay didn't stop me from taking pictures

I did pause here for a few extra shots

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't think I have used this rest room yet. Next time!

I had to take a shot of the mine train construction because it wasn't this far along when Cynthia and I were there in October. This looks like a fun ride. Can't wait to check it out.

Can't wait!

How could I pass up an opportunity to take a picture of Beast's Castle. Don't worry Beast - I will be back tonight to dine with you!

When we got to LM I was a little dismayed to find it wasn't opened yet, but we did grab a FP for later.

Then, with my head hung low, we headed back to a still empty Liberty Square.

The gallows are NEVER empty, so I couldn't resist a photo-op. Just as I tried to hang myself a nice young couple came up and asked if we wanted our picture taken together. Heck Yeah!

Then we took their picture!

We decided to head over to BTMRR and Splash. It was summer. It was hot. And people were already enjoying themselves on Splash!

I could tell that the timing of that major drench at the end of the drop was off, so it gave me hope that I wouldn't need a poncho (which I had inconveniently forgotten in the car).

It was still too early to head over to Tom Sawyer's Island.

Not that we were heading there anyway.

Instead, we headed here.

It's so exciting when you get in a queue with no line. It's hard to stop and focus on pictures. I did my best.

I love the neat additions they added to the queue

I paused for a hasty picture here before someone was on my tail.

We had no wait and we even scored the front row which is only really an advantage if you are trying to take pictures

Gosh - I love this ride!

Seriously, is there anyone who doesn't love this ride? Whether you are a thrill ride junkie or a thrill ride chicken, this ride has something to offer!

Beautiful scenery!

Great theming!

Hills!

Mountains!

Drops!

Views!

Scary caves

The Wild West!

See what I mean? Something for everyone!

Next stop - You guessed it - Splash Mountain.

Not sure what the posted wait time was, but the line moved well. It was still fairly early.

I better NOT!!!!! I left my poncho in the car, remember?????

I tried to get a little scenery.

Almost there

So how was it?

Well, we did get stuck for awhile at one point. I took this picture in case we needed to get out and use these stairs. (Doris I'm thinking of you) But we didn't. Phew.

The ride finally started again.

We got off without any major soakings, but you can see that I requested the back row!

Not today!!!!!

With two of the three mountains under our belt we decided to head back towards LM.

I wasn't sure which of these pictures I like better, so I posted both!

Another construction picture.

Back to LM just in time to use our FPs.

A look back towards Beast's Castle

Time to ride

Ready to load

I can almost hear Ariel singing when I look at this.

She is just too cute

She almost has a look of surprise. How endearing!

Hmmmm - not too sure about this picture, but I like it.

Muhahaha!

Ursula always sends shivers through my spine.

You can't get ME Ursula!

I've got legs AND the cute guy!

Ahhh - If real life was always so grand!

Moving in for the smooch!

Closer

Closer

Queue the chorus

And that's a wrap, folks!

Cute touch after unloading

One last look

So what did Denny think. His exact words were "It's OK. I was expecting more".

Kill joy! That's what he is. Maybe I should have prepared him better. *sigh*

We exited through Storybrook Circus and headed to Tomorrowland.

I want one of these

Tomorrowland beckons.

We checked the FP return time for Space, but it was at least 3 hours away and we didn't intend to spend that much time in the MK before taking our afternoon break. Remember, it was June, people, and June is HOT! It was only about 10:45 and the heat was definitely cranking up.

Where would our next stop be before lunch?

Up Next - lunch, a siesta, and an attempt at a resort visit!

Well, you've got it made. So which state serves in the grocery store? New Hampshire? I haven't been to NE in years so I am completely drawing a blank.

Yup! NH. No sales tax, either. We do have it made!

I grew up in NH and could not believe the first time I went into a 7-11 in Boston for beer and was told they didn't sell it and I would have to go to a "packie"! Isn't that what a 7-11 is for???

And WTH is a "packie"?

Welcome to Mass!

Just happened upon the trip report today. I like to read trip reports to pump me up for November! I had to comment on the bud light limeritas! Yes they are good especially over some shaved ice in my WDW resort mug from last year. Lol. They are especially lovely this way while floating in the pool. And all you need is one of those little sno cone makers from Walmart.

You weren't lost...you took the scenic route!

Jill in CO

Well, even with taking an indirect (but beautifully photographed) route, you were not late to the Little Mermaid party! What time does it open? Why was it later than park opening? Were you able to get a FP right there or did you have to go back to Mickey's (Donald's) Philharmagic?

Love the shot of the two of you in the stockade!

I'm with you- Big Thunder Mountain is just too fun!!! I love you pictures, especially the one through the engine.

Yay on a dry Splash!

Too bad Little Mermaid didn't blow Denny away. Has he done the Voyage of the Little Mermaid in HS? What does he think of that?

Too bad you couldn't get Space Mtn in :(

No parking with the Seasonal AP makes sense, but a no parking option on the PAP? That makes NO sense whatsoever. Why even have that option? :confused3

We have the seasonal passes, and parking is not included. Maybe they look the same, and the color indicates what kind of pass it is without them having to take the time to read the pass and figure out what kind it is. There's also the Epcot after 4:00 pass and the weekday pass. Maybe they all look the same at a glance!? I'm pretty sure the cards we got in exchange for our paper pass all looked the same.

I am finally caught up.I have to say those beach pictures you took are just gorgeous. I could use a beach right about now.

I can't remember all I wanted to comment on, but I think Denny needs a swift kick...LM is "just OK"? :rotfl: He's crazy man!

I wonder how many people from Mass go to NH for all their beverage needs. I think NH has it made, too! :thumbsup2

"packie" :rotfl2: I love that and I can hear it with the Boston accent. Paaaakeee. WTH is a "packie"? A package /liquor store?

:welcome: G719! Thanks for joining in!

Now that sounds like a great way to enjoy a bud light limeritas. Perfect. Never thought about shaved ice. :thumbsup2 And right now its so humid here, the pool sounds even better!

You weren't lost...you took the scenic route!

Jill in CO

Exactly! :rolleyes1 Not really lost, just temporarily disoriented. :faint:

Well, even with taking an indirect (but beautifully photographed) route, you were not late to the Little Mermaid party! What time does it open? Why was it later than park opening? Were you able to get a FP right there or did you have to go back to Mickey's (Donald's) Philharmagic?

That's a good question. I just assumed it opened with the rest of the park. In October it opened later because it was still in a "soft" opening phase. Really not sure.

And I think we got the FP's near Philarmagic, but don't hold me to that. :rolleyes1

Love the shot of the two of you in the stockade!

So convenient that another couple happened by who had the same idea. :thumbsup2

I'm with you- Big Thunder Mountain is just too fun!!! I love you pictures, especially the one through the engine.

Such a great ride. I laugh every single time. Just love it. And I couldn't resist the opportunity to take a few pictures.

Yay on a dry Splash!

Nothing better than staying dry on Splash, although in June it's not critical. The rest of the year I can't stand to get soaked with that funky water. Yuck!

Too bad Little Mermaid didn't blow Denny away. Has he done the Voyage of the Little Mermaid in HS? What does he think of that?

He did it once. I drug him in there. As I recall, he wasn't too impressed with that either. Honestly, I should have prepped him better on what to expect. I think he was expecting something with more thrills.

Too bad you couldn't get Space Mtn in :(

I wanted to pick up a FP for after lunch, but it was timed for much later after lunch and that wasn't going to work.

Good point. The strip on the bottom must look different for different passes, but this was clearly a PAP. Maybe she put it on the wrong pass.:idea: Now I think we are on to something!

I am finally caught up.I have to say those beach pictures you took are just gorgeous. I could use a beach right about now.

Yay :yay: for getting caught up!

Thanks! HHI is just a gorgeous beach. And, yes, I could use a beach right about now, too! Well, maybe not this weekend since its so stickin' hot here. But next weekend! ;)

I can't remember all I wanted to comment on, but I think Denny needs a swift kick...LM is "just OK"? :rotfl: He's crazy man!

:rotfl2: Poor Denny. He was just being honest. I mean, he could care less about Ariel. But it WAS such a kill joy. I forgive him. It was his only negative comment this trip! :)

I have to admit, that's exactly how I felt the first time I road LM. I wanted more, lots more, as long as HM :rotfl: the second time I was able to enjoy the details much better, but I still wish it were longer.

Not lost, just meandering through an empty park. ;)

Splash seems to get stuck a lot....

In CT grocery stores only sell beer and I don't think that convenience stores like 7-11 sell beer or liquor at all. We only just within the last year got rid of the no alcohol sales on Sunday law. I wish it was available in the grocery store... so much more convenient.

And yes, the packie is the package store. :) And MUST be said with a think Boston accent.

On the Disney World front, between all the temporary construction walls and New Fantasyland I found myself getting quite turned around in July. And the heat. :faint: Was actually so hot and crowded that I gave up and didn't even try the New Fantasyland attractions so am looking forward to that in October. Will keep Denny's review of LM in mind. ;)

I wonder how many people from Mass go to NH for all their beverage needs. I think NH has it made, too! :thumbsup2

Nahhh... Hardly any Mass (or other states') residents go to NH to buy liquor sans sales tax. :lmao:

That's why there are state liquor stores on the border of NH/Mass on both sides of Route 95!!! And near the border of Maine, too!!!

:drinking1

"packie" :rotfl2: I love that and I can hear it with the Boston accent. Paaaakeee. WTH is a "packie"? A package /liquor store?

Hi! I'm back from my trip and all caught up - I think!
Sorry for your troubles with poor Max! I hope he continues to improve!
congrats to Nick on starting college and for you and Denny to be empty nesters. Sometimes I worry about how my girls will choose their colleges and how far away they will be. It will be such a change from all the running we do with them now!
Bummer about the storm affecting your arrival.
Looks like you got a pretty nice place to stay even off property! I'm a fan of extra room too!

We don't have "real" liquor in our stores either - just the 3-2 stuff. We can't buy booze on Sundays either (or cars, for that matter). Some of our grocery stores have an "attached" liquor store, that has to have a separate entrance and is closed on Sundays. We live near the WI border (15 minutes) and we could go there on a Sunday. But I'm usually not in any great need that I've ever had to do that.

I'm sure there was more I wanted to comment on, but I forget!

For a June Morning you made good use of the time. Hit 2 of 3 mountains and several other E ticket rides.

I have not had a chance to try the Tangled bathrooms either.
Need to make that list for Oct. :lmao:

Mary Ellen - Off Topic - :wave2:Hello Fellow Empty Nester! How are you? It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks here with the return of my older son from his summer internship in Texas and them moving them both to Lehigh on the 26th. Loved your comment about visit to Bethlehem, Lehigh is a great campus. As is Delaware. How is Nick adjusting? Also, loved your comment about your older son's house as Salisbury, my older son, just moved to an off campus house this semester. Lovely :rotfl:Can't believe we are paying rent. Think the owner should be paying us :rotfl2:

OK - Loving your arrival report (and UD poncho). You did a great job hustling to get to Epcot for dinner and Illiuminations :cloud9: Rain or no rain love it! And of course your morning at MK - love the pictures. Hitting 2 of the mountains that quickly even with your long route to LM for FP's. Thinking Chuck will have same reaction to LM as Denny, but going to get those FP's first. Need that princess fix. Look forward to reading more. :)
