DD will miss a week of first grade after Thanksgiving for our WDW vacation. I was a little nervous to tell her, even though other families told me they have taken their kids out of school with no problems. I just didn't want to give the impression that I don't think school is important.
She told us just to have fun and not worry about it. She will send the most important work (math and reading) home before break, but said that we didn't have to worry about the seat work. I was a little worried about that because she sent a TON of worksheets home for DD when she was out sick for two days earlier this month. Yay! One less thing to stress about!

they all told me to give them a little notice (like a month) and they would make sure the kids could get their work. I only have one more teacher to talk to for my DD14 but it is for gym class and the teacher graduated high school with my DH so I don't think it will be a problem either.
