I thought that a cabin gets the benefits of the cruiser with the highest club level

My MIL and DS are in a room together. He is a minor and is gold and she is silver. The date they have available to book activities is at the silver level and not gold

I don't know the rules about this, so someone else will have to respond to that, but imo it's fair that the benefits go with the highest-ranking adult in the room. The child has never had to pay for a cruise, lol.

I thought I read on in some post that it is the primary person CC Level on the reservation. Therefore if your MIL is the primary the room would be Silver.

I would call or have your TA call. My daughter was officially listed in my dad’s room for that exact reason and they both got to check in with Platinum for our August 1 cruise.

I will have my TA call. Last cruise my DS was silver so they had a sling bag in their cabin

That definitely isn’t true - my dad is randomly the primary on one of my reservations but he is only silver. I’m platinum and we could reserve at 120 days.

Our Castaway status for the room has always been my higher level despite whomever is listed as Primary Guest (usually my sister, using the Placeholder Reservation in her name).

Awesome. We did Alaska pre-Covid on the Wonder. Miss that ship! We have the Magic booked for next August. Double Dip!! Canada had a lot of hoops to jump through along with plane/travel issues, that we are postponing Alaska to 2024. Hope things are smoother then.
I was going to look into flying in to Seatle and traveling to Vancouver. Any input from anyone?? I could rent a car or hop on a plane, but was wondering about trains, etc?

We flew in an out of Seattle (rented a car) in 2017 and did Vancouver this time. Both were easy. The Canada paperwork was super simple and US immigration was way worse than Canada. It was all fine.

As far as airlines though, they are definitely a mess everywhere.

If Amtrak gets back to normal, that can be a cool option.

In 2013, we flew into Seattle, stayed in Renton, took a town car the next morning to the downtown Seattle Amtrak station for an early morning train. The station is beautiful - lots of marble. It was so well maintained.

We paralleled the shoreline for a long way, passing by the town which was the setting for Santa Barbara CA in the TV show, “Psych.” (That’s a niche comment, isn’t it?) The Vancouver train station is 5-10 minutes from Canada Place (cruise terminal). I think there is a Skytrain station (urban train) nearby. We just took a taxi.

Adding an additional airport experience these days (and for the next several years) seems like asking for trouble / delays / risk of cancellation.

I would rather rent a car or take a bus than mess with an airport for a short flight.

(If you have time and interest, fly into Seattle, the next morning take the hydrofoil from Seattle to Victoria. spend the day, including Butchart Gardensm Orca watching, tea at the Empress… overnight in Victoria and take a bus + ferry to Vancouver for your cruise. We did it in reverse after disembarkation in Vancouver. Started the cruise after landing in Anchorage. Sometimes great adventures come from thinking outside the box. It‘s helpful when you don’t have restraints to return to work.)
