I also hang out on the Wish Trippers Unite thread...you might find some folks over there that understand hospitals and chemo and all of that junk...you can come over and carry on with us... (Blue link in my siggie)...

You can decide to run a half marathon and join us on the WISH thread...(near the bottom of the main page...We're Inspired to Stay Healthy...Not to be confused with Make a Wish...

and generally just join in discussions around the boards!!!

I told my DW about the free dining while cooking dinner tonight. What commercial do we see while watching TV tonight?????? Disney free dining. She was like hummmmm. I said that's a deal!!!!!!

All these years of her trying to get me to goto Disney...... Now I think the tables have been turned!! LOL

Speaking of MAW.... we just found out about a WISH that was just granted on Sunday. A girl that both DW and I knew growing up... her daughter had a brain tumor and had surgery and chemo at St. Judes. I believe she is 4 now. She was granted a Wish to goto Disney. We are so excited for her.

DW and I were discussing when we should call about Juliana's wish. I thought we should wait till she was around 5-6. That way she might get a little more out of it. But still young enough to experience some special magic. We might be planning a trip next year with friends. So that would bring her to 4yrsold. I don't think we can go twice next year.

Please send her our way...if they want some info...our thread is really a great place to get info. We used it a LOT on our Wish Trip and I was so glad I knew some of what was going to happen so that we could plan well and have a more magical trip.

Actually...she can get qualified now. You can go ahead and send it and they will get the paperwork signed and all of that...and then she is qualified to receive a wish at any time! It never expires...

I think they encourage you to go ahead and get qualified, because it is easier to get the paperwork done when the doctors are seeing your DD so often.

Then the process itself would be shorter once she actually decides to make her wish.

We did the MNSSHP this past October. While we had fun, we did it on our arrival day.... BAD IDEA!!!!! We woke up at 5AM to take our flight. We thought Juliana would have taken a nap on the plane, or when we got to the hotel. It didn't happen. She stayed up the whole time! We got to MK at 4 and had fun , but by 8:30 she was done. We were standing to the right of the castle for wishes with the fireworks going on right above us. It was so loud and Juliana didn't even flinch!!

We have to go back down to Florida for a baptism in the fall(i think in November). Although the free dining will be done by then. We might be able to do a day or 2 in the parks. Maybe even do the Christmas Party. I'd love to do a pre-trip report but we are so far from even thinking about this.

That is strange. Goes against the national MAW rules. Each chapter is different, though! I would wait, too, if I had heard that!

Wow.... I will read yours as well. This wasn't my DD wish trip, that should be happening in a year or 2!!

Did you DD have a Nephrectomy?..... I'm sure I'll have some other questions for you. Glad she is doing well... My DD has been off treatment since August 07, port out September 07.


EDIT::::: We (DW & I) just read the first 2 pages of your report. Wow you guys have really been through a lot. DW was crying her eyes out reading it.

Tomorrow April 2 is the second anniversary of Juliana's surgery...... reading your story brought back some memories

If there is anyone out there still reading this... what's next? When I get my photopass pictures I will post some of those. I should have those in a few weeks. Is there anything else I shold be writing about. Now that I'm done with this I'm kinda lost and I don't know what to do with myself. LOLOL

You could post more pics of the resort, or just other pics you didn't post. You could psot some video. You can pretend you stayed another day and write up a fake report. LOL! Hey we don't care, we just want more. LOL!

While I am waiting for our photopass pictures to get here, I'll tell you about the rest of the week. We got back on Sunday the 8th. On Wednesday, March 11th, was Juliana's 3rd birthday. We had a few gifts for her then we got ready to goto lunch.

We decided to go to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Juliana loves it here and they have decent food. Plus we had a coupon for a free kids meal! Juliana ended up having a hotdog with applesauce. I had a BBQ chicken wrap and Melody had a salad.

After dinner we were thinking getting Juliana the volcano. We didn't know it cost about $14. Well after blowing through tons of money on vacation we didn't order it. But we did tell our waitress that it was Juliana's birthday and when we were done eating they came and sung to her. They also brought her a sundae.

After we were done we walked over to the Disney store. I don't know if we were feeding our withdrawal or if we are just crazy, but we bought a few things for Juliana. We weren't at the mall too long. We headed home to spend a relaxing day playing games and just hanging out.

I made Juliana her favorite meal for dinner- Daddy's Famous Meatloaf!!! While I was cooking Melody and Juliana decorated her cake. I tried to help them but I just messed up the frosting. I am a decent cook..... I am a terrible baker!! My mom stopped over to see Juliana and ended up staying for dinner. We had a nice meal then got ready for cake. (Don't laugh at our cake... I messed up the whole side of it!)

We ate our cake and then Juliana opened up the gifts from my mom. Next update i'll tell you about her birthday party on Sunday. Well, her 2 birthday parties on Sunday!!!!
