Very glad you didn't get fired. It is ugly getting into all that unemplyment stuff and now you will be able to go out and get another job without having to explain why you were fired. I had a co-worker who got fired after three years and was not given an explination as to why (or she just didn't want to tell me) and she had a horrible time getting another job.

Since you live in TX I thought I would tell you that in the state it is legal to tape record a conversation if one party is aware. Meaning if you know you are recording it the taping is legal. I unfortunately know this because I had an employee do it to me without my knowledge.

I hope it works out well for you - sounds like it is not a great place to work.

Well, I didn't get fired. I mostly just got a lecture on being on time and being more available for her to call me. Did I mention she calls me about ten times a day to tell me the same thing over and over? I mean, I answer the first time but I've learned that the next nine times she calls it's just to remind you of what she told you the first time. But she gets mad because she can't get ahold of me when she wants to. This is really mainly because I have a sucky cell phone with sucky service. The battery life lasts about 4 hours (and it's brand new!) and I'm always out of range and have no signal. Whenever I do finally step into an area with a signal is when I get my million voicemails from her.

I'm sorry but I thought this description was hilarious!

Good luck over the next few weeks. I had the opportunity to observe a court reporter during a public hearing I organized a few months ago. What an impressive skill!

I forgot this- my not at all dear dad told his boss that he was an "emotional black hole", he was fired on the spot! After seeing my dad get fired or quit over thirty times, that was my favorite. He is proof that you can get fired and get another job! I believe he is making next to nothing for a sixty yr old with TWO masters degrees! My DH who did not finish College is making much more and paying my student loans (I did finish college, I just don't use my degree) so it is all about personality and a positive attitude.
