Hello Everyone

Not having a good time at the moment, as I mentioned in my previous thread I might have glaucoma I now think I've got SHINGLES aghhhhhhhhh, I have about 9 or 10 spots (painfull at that) running in a straight line on my back, I have had these before when I was stressed out buying my first house at the age of 21 I thought you couldn't get them again, but I'm sure it is the pain is exactly like it was before. I've got an appointment at 10.50am with the same Doctor and if it Shingles that should make him feel guilty that he just shrugged off my concerns on Monday about the glaucoma.

And its my 5th Wedding Anniversary today, just had a lovely basket of flowers delivered from DH so thats cheered me up alot.

I don't know Sharon, you're not having a good time at the moment are you?!

I do hope that your shingles doesn't last too long, did the Dr give you some medication for it? I believe there is something you can take if you catch shingles early isn't there?

Nice to have a thoughtful DH though isn't it, I'm glad that cheered you up a little.

Oh Sharon ! How unpleasant for you - I've had shingles and know how it feels.

Please discuss the glaucoma issue further with this doctor whilst you have the opportunity and press for your specialist appointment, even though he doesn't have the best 'bedside manner'.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today. DH had shingles a long time ago now and it was very painful. The doctor didn't recognise the rash the first two times DH paid him a visit and it was my MIL who diagnosed it! Fortunately, he wasn't too bad but even that was bad enough. You have our sympathy and loads and loads of PD.

About seven years ago my friend was diagnosed as having glaucoma and had to put drops in her eyes and regular check ups. After about 5/6 years she was told by the same hospital that she didn't have glaucoma after all, only high pressure. So there's hope yet.

Oh Sharon, you poor thing!


I've had Shingles as well and bloomin' painful it is too - the only trouble is that it's non-contagious and I didn't get any time off work.

Thanks for all your support yet again, my doctor has given me some strong tablets by the name of Aciclovir (800mg) he also said it was contacious so I am off work.

Thanks again I'm sure my luck will start changing soon.......I hope so anyway
