Does anyone think I am crazy? We are a family of 5 and like to do 2 trips a year. I have 375 pts now and this add on would give me 475...... HELP! I am an addict.......

Just keep studying the 12 steps of add-on's and repeating the points prayer and you'll be fine!

;)

We could use more points also now that the children are married and having babies. If you will be able to use the extra points and can afford the additional cost (initial cost, maintenance, and cost of additional trip expenses) go for it.

You've only just begun.....:goodvibes
As to whether you are crazy? We started with 270pts thinking that would be enough. Yeah, right. If you are crazy, we are lunatics!

As it has been said many times;

Can't be too rich,
Can't be too skinny,
Can't have too many DVC point , , , , , , :cool1:

Sorry, I can't talk you out of it either. I completely get it! Since we financed our original points, I don't want to add-on though until they're paid off and I can pay cash. When we originally bought, we only did 160 thinking it's just my DH and myself and we're fine with Studios. Flash forward 2 years later and :rotfl2: I'm not fine with a Studio! Atleast a 1 bdroom is now required. So....I've decided, what would be the best anniversary present? MORE POINTS!!!

I Left my Guide a message yesterday and he called me last night, but I missed his call. He also sent me an email with current pricing and incentives. I think I am going to do it.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't help either LOL. We watched the webcast and I immediately called my guide afterwards to see about other incentives. We've decided we're adding on at BLT and we're probably even adding more points then we thought. Why because we figure more is better LOL. Boy is that theory gonna get us in trouble. We thought though that 250 would be more then enough we'd ever need. Yeah... addonitis hits everyone it seems. :rotfl2:

Sorry - I can't talk you out of it. I am a Point-aholic, too.

DH and I watched the Traveler video this week and we were wishing we could afford to add Aulani, too!

I would like more points, too, but count me amongst those who financed my most recent purchase, and will not be adding on more until those are paid for (I hope to pay them off in less than ten years--it's amazing how much paying an extra 50 here and there cuts off the life of the loan--I've cut about 18 months off already).

But if you can afford it, and you know you will use them, go for it. I'd think you'd never have enough points for a family of five. I say round it up to an even 500 ;-)

Even 500, that is a great idea, but I was looking for help! LOL!!!!

Make sure you get the webcast incentives, they were great discounts if you are looking for BLT! Never enough points!:rolleyes1

We go (2 people in a studio) twice a year, then a 2-bdrm every other year.
And We're always running out despite having 400 points.
With a family of 5 going twice a year, I actually think you're overdue!!!
;)

I'm also thinking about adding on another 50 but I only have a "measly" 150 right now. We tend to collect resorts. BLT was first, then VWL and next will be BCV! (We like split stays, obviously.)

At this point, everything is relative to point purchases. I find myself thinking long and hard whenever I want to buy anything over $100 or so ... "Geez, that's about a fifth of the down payment for 50 points!" :goodvibes

I hear ya. Within the first year of my ownership, I added on 5 times! My six contracts total 420 points. I wish I had more, but I've financed enough, so I'd like to pay it off before I consider adding on. Right now my son is six and we are really enjoying our membership. However, the high airfare these days is killing me! We're actually going to take a year off next year, :scared1: so I rented most of my points. I used David's and it was such an easy experience. So, if you add on, you always have the option of renting some of your points if there comes a year where you do not desire to use them. I'm taking the money I got from the rental to pay for a non-DCL cruise.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can always justify adding on.....
:lmao:

You came to the wrong place if you are looking for people to talk you out of adding on, my friend ;-)
